my main problem with this idea is that the game goes out of its way to emphasize that kris is not the one controlling noelle in snowgrave. she says that the voice commanding her isn’t kris’s and in the final battle, it’s specified that “you” call for noelle’s help, where as when you call for susie and ralsei kris is stated to be calling for help. i’m willing to believe that it is determination, but i don’t think it is for that reason

4:20 Do note that Weird isn't just about killing, you can do that and not get Weird route. It's about being _controlling_ toward Noelle, usurping her autonomy. 10:40 One thing to note is that we specifically have a lot of chances to _stop_ the Weird route, those being every time we get a dialogue choice that includes "proceed". Kris is actively giving us as many opportunities to stop as they can, but we still ultimately control which route they take.

I like to think "Hyperlink Blocked" is "love" just because it makes Snowgrave Spamton's dialogue _very_ funny.

I do think now it could be considered "LOVE", or at least something close to it. As for the whole existence of Snowgrave, I don't think Kris particularly likes it? It feels quite out of character (based on the snippets of them we get from the Spamton Sweepstakes). I would imagine that this is all Player's influence, with the motive being exactly what Spamton says it is. Keep in mind that we, as the Player, have also been confined/restricted (we were supposed to get a vessel, and several times our choices are invalidated to some degree), so we are just as interested in Freedom as Kris is.

My favorite example of Kris partially being in control is the yes/no question after the spamton fight. Kris clearly wants to say no in that instance. If you say yes it comes out as strained, you're fighting against him. But if you say no it comes out as a shout because your actions match Kris's wants. It really highlights the internal struggle between the two of you.

This video is so cool. And yes I'm pretty sure the SOUL is just the player, and our reason for advancing is to just see what happens. Don't we all want Kris to be free as well? Most of us, at least. Even though we know it's a game, and we wanna play it, and that means controlling Kris, most players don't even know about all of this anyways and just like Spamton. And the people who do know all of this, want to do it anyways.

Personally, I think LOVE theory is the strongest of them. In the UNRELATED games, LOVE has two meaning and nicely fits into a double entendre like "Making LOVE"

I think [[hyperlink blocked]] at least in the "Hochi Mama" quote is LOVE, as in Level of Violence - because from a narrative and gameplay perspective, that's what you and Noelle have been "making" throughout the Snowgrave route. That said, I don't think [[hyperlink blocked]] has to refer to the same concept every time it comes up. As I see it, his hyperlinks get blocked whenever he tries to relate to concepts that concern the metaphysics of Deltarune, particularly the shared metaphysics of Deltarune and Undertale. It referring to Determination at least sometimes does sound plausible to me. And of course, Determination and LOVE are also linked.

Fun fact: Chara doesn't actually make us do anything in the Genocide route. Who decided to start killing monsters in the first place? Who pressed forwards, even though the game was actively encouraging them to stop with difficult boss after difficult boss? If anything, we are influencing Chara.

I think Spamton might have something to do with Asriel. Because in the light world he uses references people say when talking about Asriel. The cat guy assumes he is "off at college becoming a *big shot",* pizza pants talks about how he and Asriel would ride around in thei cungadaro looking to pick up chicks. I'm note sure if there are more references like this, but there might be another one. Its weird to think that Spamton might have a connection to Asriel of all people.

I do think you had a narrative in mind when making this theory, which led you to ignore crucial information. Still, your theory implies that Kris is okay with manipulating Noelle and killing Berdly to get the determination to overcome the red soul. Still, from what we know of Kris, they wouldn't try to murder the classmate they played minecrap with. I also think you ignored a lot of things in Snowgrave that imply that Kris has even less control than usual. For example, you called for Noelle, and the voice Noelle said didn't sound like Kris's voice, so unless we are Kris and Kris did a voice, those two things imply Kris wasn't in control of Snowgrave.

The biggest flaw I see in the theory is the simple question of: how was Spamton going to give Kris determination? Like, I know Spamton's a scam artist but it seems like he really values Kris and their deal, at least until it "goes wrong" and the deal doesn't result in Spamton's freedom as he thought. Is the Neo body filled with determination? Swatch says it was filled with "a lightners hopes" or something, so I guess it's possible, but Spamton still couldn't give that power to Kris to get rid of us. Unless Spamton's plan was always to steal Kris's soul to "free" them... But that would just put them in a new "hyperlink" situation with Spamton. But yeah, I think that's the biggest flaw left to overcome. Spamton promising Kris something like freedom or control makes a lot of sense as an attainable goal given Spamton figures out how to cut his own strings with the Neo body... but giving Kris determination? It's a little harder to explain.

To me it seems [Hyperlink Blocked] means multiple things, but I think your theories are really well make! =D

One thing to note is that many save points say something along the lines of "you were filled with power," but in a different structure. Something more like "The power of [RELEVANT THING] shines within you." This has been a thing since chapter 1. Being filled with power isn't necessarily something special to snowgrave route, but in snowgrave, you and Noelle are filled with power directly (probably from all the killing), instead of using the power of your friends.

It's love. LV. It makes sense for it to be censored in the dark world revolving around the internet, they don't want darkners going around murdering others to "get stronger". And the cherry on top is the line that refers to Kris and Noelle making [hyperlink blocked] on the weird route. They've been killing, making LV. It's love.

I imagine if we follow this theory that it may be that the soul wants this connection severed since it was forced into Kris when they had made a vessel and had it discarded unfairly. They want to try and remake the connection, but have it where they are doing it with the vessel they made.

There is another link you can make that [Hyperlink Blocked] is determination: the nature of a hyperlink is that it takes you to a different site, which we could deduce might be the universe of undertale. Another curious thing is that spamton also censors the word "Lightner", the signs next to it when he says it are editing signs that imply the full word has been cut. We have a clue as to what the full word is, as King says it in refference to Kris in chapter 1: "Lightbringer". Seeing as King can say Lightbringer and queen can say "determined" it seems main story bosses have less restrictions but also less knowledge than the "unprecedented variables" that the super bosses are to the main route of the game. Something is clearly trying to railroad us slowly into a specific story and the secret bosses pose a threat to that, ralsei being there to ensure we stay on proper track.

I feel so bad for kris, my idea is that whatever is narrating at the start (character customization) gave us control over kris' body and he is forced to think and behave as we say and he keeps trying to stop us by ripping the soul from his body, but we keep returning into control of him

I like the JJJ theory that it's LOVE. I generally tend to believe that it's anything that a certain force doesn't want Spamton to say, so it could be different things in different instances, but it does fit really well. Stuff like "You want some [HYPERLINK BLOCKED], don't you?" Would suddenly allude to Flowey's "You want some LOVE, don't you?", and then there's the innuendo of "You've been making LOVE". There's also the classic Toby Fox double meaning, stuff like determination being determine-ation and de-termination, but it refused also meaning but it re-fused, maybe Kris wants love, to feel like they're not alone anymore and someone cares who they are and what they want. In the Snowgrave route, the player wants LOVE, the ability to become stronger and test the limits of this world. Spamton seems to want both.

I disagree on your interpretation of Genocide. Chara is not controlling Frisk. It's all us doing this. Chara is also a victim in this. Especially with the similarities between Noelle and Chara. In Snowgrave, Noelle says "I'm getting stronger", and before seeing Berdly, she says "It's another enemy". She doesn't really look at them anymore. They're just enemies. And that really reminded me of Chara's line at the end of Genocide. We eradicated *the enemy* and *became stronger* They also say "With your guidance". We control Frisk, and we used that control to manipulate Chara, someone who are at a point in their life where they don't know what to do, and we manipulate them into thinking it's okay to kill everyone. The dialogue similarities between Noelle and Chara show that we're manipulating Chara the same way we're manipulating Noelle. But considering the Genocide ending and its consequences, I'm curious about what will happen if we continue to go on a weird route in future chapters.

It's always weird to me how Chara was able to "possess" (?) Frisk from the beginning, to the point that the menus say Chara's name and not ours name It's also interesting that Kris is so opposed to us controlling them, but Frisk was completely fine with it

I see what you mean on all three theories. I like the idea that it literally mean hyperlink blocked, but ive seen a good theory the word thats being blocked is "choices". As you see throughout deltarune 'if you haven't gotten it by now, your choices dont matter.' its brought up a bit during chapter one.

I think hyper link blocked is Love. It makes sense because that's what you need to get stronger. Determination just provides a means to express Love regardless of if it's Level.Of.Violence. or actual love. I think Spamton is a reference to Sans in Judgement Hall when he says that you don't have love but you gained love,in the pacifist route. Kris seems to have a crush on their monster friends based on how they act and their search history.

I reckon the "Hyperlink Blocked is Hyperlink Blocked" theory isn't too far off, only in a slightly different context. It COULD effectively be worded as "Hyperlink Blocked is a Hyper Link, Blocked" which implies that Spamton, and whatever information is being censored, is meant to provide Kris with a "Hyper Link", or a connection greater than what they currently have. This makes sense when you consider Spamton's whole thing is "cutting the strings", but ultimately, it's mostly a metaphor for whatever is ACTUALLY being said, the game "Blocking the Hyper Link" from being visible or knowledgable to the player as a means of protecting them from information they are not yet ready to see. Idk, makes sense when you think about it.

10:03 there are also many instance that can go against the idea that Kris is the one coming up whit the dialog and action options, why would he come up whit options of things he clearly shows he dosn't want to say or do? My main problem whit this theory is that the game goes out of it way to empatize how WE are making every part of snowgrave happen, not Kris. Noelle constantly remarks that the voice they hear is not Kris voice, on the snowgrave spamton neo fight when we need to call for help Kris refuses to call for Noel, changing the text from "Kris called for" to "you called for Noelle", so i don't think Kris is willingly doing any of it yo gain [Hyperlink block]. What's more Kris opening a dark fountain to try again to gain power wouldn't make much sense when Kris is shown trying to get help to deal whit the dark fountains in both chapters(if you go to the Police ofice and talk to Undyne he tries to alerta the Police and get them involve, giving more detail each chapter). In my interpretation Kris made sure that the Police was coming to their house, left the door open for them to get in and made sure Susie was whit him before he opened the fountain, probably to make it easier for them to close it later. Unrelated, but i want to clarify that in Undertale, while Chara obtains more power and control over Frisk body the more they level up, they are not the one that initially influencie their actions to kill, Chara spirit is atached to Frisk on every route, they gaining control is a consequences of a genocide, but it is not the couse of said genocide, the one that starts and goes trough whit the genocide is very firmly stablish to be us, the one playing

We do, in fact, know why determination allows player-character separation. Sans says, in the judgment hall, that LOVE is the ability to, quote: "Distance yourself."

I feel like in both routes, they are just making the best of the *players* actions, considering that they wouldn't need to get determination from others if they could do things on their own. I do like the idea someone else mentioned of [Hyperlink Blocked] being a choice/choices instead of determination, but that would ultimately be Spamton mispercieving what Kris was doing- considering that they still aren't really making those choices. But yeah, the DT theory works *if* you think that they are just trying to make the best of what they end up doing regardless of the circumstances (be it a Weird Route or a Normal Route [is that the name of it? idrk]), to just get determined enough to break free from the hold that the soul has over them- which might explain why they are able to remove the soul only once after the first chapter, and more than once after the second chapter- they gained more DT, or whatever. And because of that, they know that the player (the soul) wants to go into the dark worlds and 'fix' things- or 'kill' things- and as such makes a new dark fountain at the end of CH2 they might not be The Knight, but they realized that the soul wants something specific, and to keep it from trying to get that sort of 'fix things' or 'hurt things', well, fix, elsewhere- like in the Real World, with Real People. ESPECIALLY since the only people that would get caught in that new Dark World would be Susie (and Toriel, but either they think that Toriel wouldn't be able to get hurt [boss monster rules ig? ik they are stronger monsters, so maybe smth like that] or that she would only be of more help [in a normal/paci/neu route]). That's a cool theory, tho i honestly think that it's "power". That's the thing you obtain on the snowgrave route, that's the thing that is brought up whenever you save. "You and Noelle were filled with power"

I think [Hyperlink Blocked] is just exactly what it says, a hyperlink to a website that gets blocked. Maybe because of a server outage, or maybe for some reason the armor Kris wears has a built-in antivirus that blocks the site? I just think that it's a link to a sketchy website that gets blocked.

It's also a possibility that Kris saw an opportunity to achieve freedom in what _we_ (assuming that us, a.k.a. the player is canon in the game) were doing and collaborated, both in the pacifist route with the basement stuff and in the snowgrave/weird route with what mainly the player, but later on also Kris, is forcing Noelle to do. In cutscenes, both in regular and snowgrave, we can see that Kris is willing to act on what Spamton told him. We're just [pulling the silly strings] because we want to play every ending, but Kris is trying to use that as a way to finally become free again through [Hyperlink Blocked], before everything comes down crashing after the NEO fight in both runs

I think it’s connect/Connected/connection. It’s a vague concept that doesn’t quite translate correctly. After all, we connect to this world as our first action. We directly connect to Noelle and get her to do things she would never do normally.

kris may not have full control over their body but they give us(the red soul) the option to do all those things you talked about so that we can maybe free them from our control accidentally

i think the way determination is connected to freedom is by this equation of some sort: determination=power=dominance and control=freedom i think this way because there is a huge plot about "dominance, manipulation and control" going on with both kris and chara. also another point i want to make is about the possibility that the red soul is an in-game character. if red soul is an in game character there is a slight possibility of death note shenanigans. like kris knows red souls hunger for power and LV and manipulates it to gain freedom in the way you mentioned like a kind of strategical war going on where kris outplays red soul who is oblivious to their plans. and depending on how the story goes we might have a chance to see kris actually outplaying the dumb soul and breaking free at the end. this is quite convincing when you think about how intellegent kris is.

Interesting theory, good video! The only comment I have is that in UTDR Determination isn’t just some kind of catchall mystical power. It’s *specifically* the power to defy death. It’s not “Determination” as in, “to be determined”, but rather “De-Termination”, as in “the power to undo termination”. That’s why human souls in Undertale stick around after their host is dead. It’s kind of tricky to navigate because the Red soul in Undertale is the Determination soul, but all souls have De-Termination. Sorry if this is poorly worded or unhelpful, I really liked the video otherwise! ^_^

[Hyperlink Blocked] is obviously Big Shot Soda (If you don't know what that is look it up). Think about it. Take all the lines where Spamton says [Hyperlink Blocked] and replace it with Big Shot Soda. *You want Big Shot Soda don't you? *You've been making Big Shot Soda haven't you? *And sometimes in the morning, a little Big Shot Soda. It fits. Maybe Spamton is trying to link the Big Shot Soda's website, but Toby Fox is censoring it for copyright reasons.

I'm pretty much convinced at this point that it's a lot more simple than people think. The issue with the "Freedom" theory isn't really a real one, as the hyperlink is likely not blocked because of what text is displayed. If it said "Freedom" that wouldn't be the reason it'd be blocked, so it appearing in other dialogue isn't an issue. Instead, the reason it's blocked is because it's a *hyperlink,* which, no offense, I don't quite think you gave a good definition of. A hyperlink isn't just a link you can click on, it's usually a piece of regular text with a link attached, making it function like a link but displaying as any piece of text the user would want. These actually appear all across the Sweepstakes in item descriptions completely unblocked, and it's honestly what's convinced me that Hyperlink Blocked is something else each time it appears. The one line that always stumps any one concept interpretation of it for me is the line "THEN WE WILL TRANSFER. MY [[Hyperlink Blocked]]." when he's talking about the EmptyDisk, where it has a pretty clear and obvious meaning: either consciousness or self, as we see him transfer it to the disk.

Well this makes sense! Queen at the end says that the Knight and all lightners have determination. I don't know if this can be brought into this theory somehow.

as a player we don't know what hyperlink blocked is. But, we want to know. perhaps that is part of spamton's plan, using the player's curiosity to help achieve freeedom

I don't know where else to put this speculative hypothesis but I think the hospital may be a dark fountain location because it has small rooms opened with double doors, the end of the chapter 2 cutscene proved that an area does not need to be behind locked doors to become a dark fountain, if it's noelle's dad's hospital room we surely will get more to know about noelle. also the church cause it's blocked off by father albert and the final chapter has to be in the bunker unless it's just going to be one of those mysteries.

You chose the right game to theory craft about. It's easily going to become a cult classic. One theorist I follow is named jaru, who believes the red soul belongs to Asriel, because Asriel is dead.

In Undertale Genocide Chara uses us and takes determination from from us and "makes us stronger", Kris in Deltarune Snowgrave does the same to Noelle. Kris looks A LOT like Chara

Who said its Kris who does the Snowgrave route for thier freedom? I dont think Kris goes as far killing someone as berdly,instead the Snowgrave route happends after Kris took control and put the soul in the cage for a bit. It´s the player who´s relation to Berdly can be mixed,its the player who does anything. so I think the doing snowgrave can reasoned as the player trying to overpower the last bit of control Kris has,well attempts to by breaking thier determination even if needed. Hell it, would explain why Noel is forced to do it by us,not Kris,because we saw what happend when we did it with the puppet we controlled in Frisk/Chara.

I think the red soul, the player wants too give Kris determination because we feel bad about the undertale genocide route and we are also curious. We didnt choose to control him and the character creation screen makes us comfortable controlling the vessel we make because it implies the vessel is artificial, it didn't have a life before us. But with Kris we feel like we are stealing his life, and this is further solidified by the way he treats us, his soul. Even though he is incredibly sluggish by not having us, he hates us so much he is so determined to hate us, he never really puts us down gently. He always throws us and it makes us feel the same way as undertale genocide. All the monsters hating us. Even if the soul is a separate being to us, its not farfetched that the soul experienced undertale. Every human soul we see is a different colour. This could mean Kris' soul is a different colour than red, but we replaced his soul. Making him a sort of slave that can only exist without us with determination or his soul the narrator stole to let us embody him.
