What even is Warhammer? I know the table top well enough but i've never had the chance to just sit down and learn the fundamentals of its world.

I just did the math...the emperor has effectively eaten the souls of almost 4 BILLION psykers
@Brutalyte616
@Brutalyte616 7 месяцев назад
Which means that, on average, every one of the million worlds within the Imperium has offered over 4,000 psykers to power the Golden Throne over the course of the last 10,000 years, which comes out to at least 1 psyker every 2 years. Of course, psykers were being offered to the Golden Throne before the Emperor got stuck on it, but they didn't burn through them anywhere near as quickly as they do now.

You nailed the theme and purpose of Bricky's 40k videos on the damned head. These are not meant to be comprehensive guides, they are hooks. They are meant to grab the attention of normies and explain the barest bones, leaving more than enough cool shit for you to explore at your own leisure.

furthermore it must be said that time has no meaning in the Warp in fact in every codex of the demons of chaos and in several books it is stated that the gods have always existed and that Slaanesh was already there before the fall of the Eldar

@@alessandrobagni6374 They have never existed until they do, when they are created, they have always existed. The moment of birth is now simply a appearance of our timeline. Slaanesh basically retcon itself to have alway existed apon the first birth.

*IN THE EMPEROR'S DEFENSE!* He did not actually FORCE Perturabo into being a siege specialist. What the Emperor did was he went to Perturabo and told him 'You are my Lord of Iron. I trust you and your Legion to handle the most thankless jobs that no one else would willingly take and be the unsung heroes of the Crusade, because I trust you not to break under the pressure and do what needs to be done for us to succeed.' The Emperor didn't tell Perturabo that he should only engage in siege warfare, nor did he tell him to scour all the worlds he conquered, do nothing to ingratiate himself to the wider Imperium, or have him and his Legion never take a well-deserved vacation, and he CERTAINLY did not tell Perturabo to have 10% of his Legion be beaten to death by the other 90% for the crime of simply not being good enough before his reunion with them. In fact, when this happened and EVERYONE was demanding that Perturabo be censured and punished for this atrocity, the Emperor DEFENDED Perturabo and said that it was Perturabo's Legion to do with as he saw fit. The Emperor trusted Perturabo IMMENSELY, but Perturabo expected far more praise for his efforts than he ever received and blamed his own choices on his father, claiming that the Emperor had forced him into everything, when serving with the Iron Warriors under Perturabo became considered a punishment that bordered on a death sentence. This reputation earned the Iron Warriors the nickname of the 'Corpse Grinders' and eventually saw to it that only Penal Legions, criminals forced into being soldiers as atonement for their crimes on pain of death, would ever serve with the Legion. Perturabo and the Iron Warriors didn't break from the pressure. They BENT, and they continued to bend until they caved, and the Iron Within wasn't as strong as the Iron Without.

TL DR: They are a bunch of whiny bitches that doesn't want to do anything but siege and then cry about being forced to siege. In any cases, the Primarch has got a lot of power and freedom to do literally anything he wanted. If he wanted to take a little break or let 50% of his sons have some time to build stuffs (which is their hobby) he could. He just wanted to cry about everything

So Tia slipped up a bit on the Mechanicus. The Cult Mechanicus, or the Cult of the Machine, has ALWAYS been called that, but its followers, the Tech-Priests of Mars WERE originally called the Mechanicum. After the Schism of Mars that saw the Mechanicum split along Traitor and Loyalist lines, the Loyalists became the Adeptus Mechanicus and the Traitors became the Dark Mechanicus, although some among the Dark Mechanicus would probably argue that they still are the Mechanicum and the Loyalists are pretenders openly admitting their inadequacy by allowing themselves to be called the Mechanicus. However it DOES make sense as to why they would call themselves that, as the lowest level of Tech-Priest is referred to as an Adept or Tech-Adept, so the change is not terribly drastic and helps Imperial citizens recognize them as an organization with significant authority. The other thing Tia slipped up on is the autonomy of the Adeptus Mechanicus. As it turns out, they are STILL a separate organization from the Imperium of Man, they are NOT part of the Imperial hierarchy and NO ONE, not even the Emperor himself, the Primarchs, or the Inquisition, is legally allowed to do ANYTHING to a member of the Adeptus Mechanicus without causing a political incident, which is something the Mechanicus use as political leverage when people start making demands or accusations towards them. This obviously doesn't stop assassinations of Mechanicus personnel from happening, nor does it prevent 'unfortunate and/or tragic accidents and circumstances' from happening to the Mechanicus; such is the way of politics. However the Mechanicus CAN be reasonable, having the Fabricator-General of Mars as the politically representing the Mechanicus as a High Lord of Terra, and they use the threat of excommunication and exile from the Adeptus Mechanicus as a tool to keep their members in check and to allow the Imperium or the Inquisition to carry out justice if the Mechanicus is unwilling to do so itself, although the Mechanicus do frequently self-police and there are several Ordos of the Inquisition devoted to investigating the Mechanicus for signs of heresy and cooperating with the Mechanicus for this purpose. And because there's TECHNICALLY nothing stopping a member of the Adeptus Mechanicus from becoming an Inquisitor should another Inquisitor feel they show promise, these theoretical Tech-Priest Inquisitors(Tech-Inquisitors? Inquisitechs?) COULD be used by both the Imperium AND the Mechanicus to police its personnel, however the Mechanicus would probably excommunicate, exile, or even execute any such Tech-Priest if their loyalty to the Adeptus Mechanicus was ever in question, so such individuals are probably exceedingly rare and probably leave the Mechanicus shortly after receiving their new title.

Fun fact, the page that Tia quotes at the end Bricky also quoted pretty much verbatim at the beginning of one of his other videos (the one of all the factions), which may also be why he didn't quote it exactly again in this one.

There's very little lore on the deep warp and it comes from very biased and metaphorical sources. We have one primary source related to that in the form of the 4th edition codex, and anything involving Tzeentch has to be taken with a few pounds of salt. And on a fundamental level the distinction between a chaos god and their daemons is... well, its like the distinction between you and your cells. Tzeentch being unwilling to go but willing to send greater daemons means he did go. Just not all at once. Our main secondary source is Mephiston and while all respect to the man that made the black rage settle down he's not exactly someone qualified to speak on the fundamental nature of the immaterium on such a deep level.

“…because it’s so intrinsically vast.” That’s what scares a lot of people but it isn’t as intimidating as it sounds. It’s like learning anything here in the real world. I don’t have to know about the history of music in South Asia to be able to pick up a guitar and learn to play. 40k works the same way. You don’t need to know the history of the Imperium of Man to learn about the Eldar. Dive into what interests you, and learn from footnotes as you go!

And every psychic capable race in the galaxy has the ability to achieve that god like state like the old ones, even humanity, through millions of years of evolution, if they survive dat long.

Humans where the last effort from the Old Ones, they came to existance just when they where about be destroyed. The last Retcon that no one saw comming and almost everybody gloss over is that Eldar, Orks and Necrons existed at the same time and they where sort of made by the Old Ones, the Necrontyr is a extremly old race that no one knows where they came from aswel the Old Ones and the C'Tan, but the Eldar and Orks are sort of made by the Old Ones cuz in the old lore they Where made by them but now, now is like 50/50. Humans came just when they died and they are like the last hope of the Old Ones like shooting life everywhere before they where gone, maybe the rest of the races where destroyed by the Eldar, Orks and the Age of Technology humans during 10k to 25-29k like the Interax. But of course, a common citizen of the Imperium would say that am lying. -Alpharius.

It's silly to say that the 40k lore is "this way" and not otherwise. Especially when it comes to old lore like the creation of the Emperor. The lore is constantly changing through retcons or unreliable narrators. This is not a new development either. That was the case 40 years ago and it is still the case today.
