I left Canned Squid in Kraken Rum for a week 

Out of all the mixes, this one was by far the worst. Worse than Vodka Steak, worse than surstromming, worse than durian fruit.

I was wondering why this wasn't a short ... now I know why. I salute your commitment.

Man, Kraken is like my all-time favorite rum, but for some reason it has just never once occurred to me to try stuffing a small school of squid in a jar of the stuff and letting it marinate for an extended period of time… I clearly gotta fix my way of preparing drinks.

I'd recommend you retry this with dried squid. It's much more similar to jerky, and it actually tastes pretty good.

I found out from prepping fresh calamari after a fishing trip that i was allerigc to squid ink. Couple that with some baaaad memories of Kraken and oof, you have my sympathies and respect.

I'm only 1 minute in and already dying of laughter. God damn it, man, you are something else. XD I once got hold of some dried... squid... rings or something. They tasted like if the sea had one too many servings of Kraken, confused its vomit for more booze, and then regurgitated the twice-digested slurry into my plate. Then, for good measure, a passing seagull defecates on the pile, only for the plate switched out for a clean one, and filled with dried squid rings, because none of that earlier crap held a candle to how disgusting they were. I choked some of them down. Nope nope nope. Tried to fry them up and choked some of those down. The second frying attempt laden with chili powder to drown out the taste didn't fare any better than the first. I tried to maybe soak them in water to get the seasoning off in case that was the issue, nope. And the water smelled like if a rotten egg had a baby with the aforementioned twice-regurgitated sea vomit from earlier. Eventually, I just gave up. Turns out that the bag was a good year past its expiration date.

Dude; I couldn't even look into that can, let alone drink or eat anything that came from it! You're a stronger/crazier man than I!
