She is an excellent actress. Philippa Georgiou from the mirror universe is the opposite to Captain Philippa Georgiou of our universe, and Michelle Yeoh plays both characters so well that they indeed seem to be totally different persons. And I think few know this, but Michelle has already been considered one of the 50 more beautiful persons in the world. Btw, Rachael Ancheril, who plays Commander Nhan (who speaks to Georgiou on that scene!), is another very talented actress. Besides, Nhan had a great potential to contribute to the plot. It was a bad mistake keeping her as a background character and later removing her from the show. At least she had more dialogue scenes than most bridge characters except for Michael, Saru and the other captains (Lorca, Pike and perhaps even Georgiou). Also, Nhan is so beautiful, despite the ridges on her front and eyebrows (in a similar way to B'elanna Torres, but more).
I mean, she pretty much had to adapt to the way of the universe she was in, so she probably just put away her xenophobic terran ideology for the sake of survival.
@@atanvardo5730 He is a Saurian. If you heard of Saurian brandy mentioned in Trek, it comes from their home world. First one seen on screen was in The Motion Picture film, then we had Linus and the third is the second officer of the Titan seen in the last episode of Lower Decks who has also appeared in books about Riker and the Titan :) Saurians are now my second favourite Trek race because they look so cool :D
@@enikata7349 Thank you, my friend! Yes, I know the Saurian brandy. I think it is mentioned at least once in every Star Trek spin-off. I haven't watched The Motion Picture yet. The only ST film I watched so far, and I did it recently, was Beyond Darkness, and I plan to watch all of them. But, before Linus, Saurians also appeared on Star Trek: Enterprise. The contact with Humans from the Enterprise provided the proof a Saurian scientist was searching for to connect the Saurian people with a distant planet (in case, Earth), and it was revealed that the Saurians evolved from the dinosaur known as Hadrosaurus. But, in the end, the Saurian government or something decided to make sure to keep the info well hidden to not hurt the pride of Saurian people by revealing that they escaped their original planet and that they were descendants of an animal which was hunted by others. I couldn't recognize Linus as a Saurian because he differs so much in appearance from the Saurians from ST: Enterprise (also, I can't remember if he was said to be a Saurian on ST: Discovery). But I always knew he couldn't be a Gorm or a reptilian Xindi.
@@atanvardo5730 Ah you are thinking of Voyager not Enterprise and they aren't Saurians. The episode is called "Distant Origins" They are the Voth but yes they were hadrosaurs that evolved on Earth and then traveled to the delta quadrant and the plot you mentioned is correct :). So unfortunately the Voth aren't related to the Saurians. So it makes 4 reptilian species we know of; the Saurians, the Voth, the Gorn and the reptilian Xindi. I don't think we've seen any others. This is a link to the one that appeared in The Motion Picture static.wikia.nocookie.net/memoryalpha/images/d/de/Saurian.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/180?cb=20180715000418&path-prefix=en
@@enikata7349 Yes, I mixed things up! I just looked for images from "Distant Origins" and I saw Cap. Janeway from Voyager with a few Voth. Because I completely forgot the name of that species and because they evolved from a dinosaur, i was mislead to think they were Saurians. A kinda tricky thing 😄. There's yet a 5th reptilian species we have seen: the Jem'Hadar, from Deep Space Nine. The link doesn't work, but I looked for images of that Saurian from The Motion Picture and, yes, he looks very close to Linus.
She said that bureaucracy kills all the fun. Seems like she's enjoying not being the emperor... I doubt she would want to be in charge of section 31 but rather just manipulate it covertly.
saw the thumb nail and thought what is a Silurian doing here, he is supposed to be in hibernation back on earth or fighting with the doctor at Demons Run
I really like this season. There's alot of big implications that could make for a really interesting series. The only thing I dislike is Georgiou, they want her to be a snarky Garak SO bad but its just not happening, Michelle Yeoh playing as prime universe Georgiou was SO good, like a mix of Janeway and Picard, but the mirror universe is just cringy to watch. And it's not Yeoh's fault either, she is a fantastic actor with some bad lines.
I guess jumping from universe to universe made them adopt a more .. loose moral code....... *shrugs* dunno, u come up with a way to explain that BS.....
I really do feel for David Tomlinson (no pun intended) all patched up like a Saurian dude as that of Linus in rubber silicone! Can't help to imagine that David must be condensated out his face wearing all that sh*t all over his complexion! I mean can you ever imagine David not being able to scratch his nose whenever it ever gets itchy...?? And we all thought Michael Dorn was bad starring as Worf whenever he needed to scratch his real forehead behind all that cosmetic silicone looking like the top of a chocolate mars bar for a Klingon forehead above his brows!? Just don't ask them to sit still whatever you do while their off set whilst theirs are in the process of setting! We really shouldn't take rubber silicone for granted whatever episode it is from Star Trek! Welcome to the reality of Star Trek alien crew members having bold encounters with vfx make up artists before they ever get a chance to say "am patching you thru now Captain".
