Tim Minchin invited his viewers to make their own lock-down versions of his upcoming new song, "I'll Take Lonely Tonight", a wistful tale of avoiding temptations, or as he puts it "a song about not having sex"! Since we've been doing these remote-isolated-trans-Atlantic-collaborations for years now, we decided we should have a go. :) Here's our interpretation - enjoy, and check out Mr Minchin's website for more of his stuff: www.timminchin.com

This is my favorite Tim Minchin song, I can’t say how many times I have listened to it since he release it. This cover makes an already breathtaking song downright heartbreaking. That flicker of images over the mythical stanza was simply inspired. I am so grateful this was in my recommendations and I found this duo. Beautiful, beautiful work.

Beautiful! I so love Tim Minchin's rendition of this song that he wrote that I was skeptical that I would like anyone else's version. I was wrong: this is moving. I like that it shows that she is just as anguished as he is in choosing to reject the opportunity to spend the night together.
