Today, July 5, is National Hawaii Day. This is relevant to the "I Love Lucy" episode, "Ricky's Hawaiian Vacation." Ricky is booked to perform in Hawaii, and Lucy wants to go with him. I "died" when Fred came out looking like "Trader Sam" (Disneyland & Walt Disney World Jungle Cruise ride) I'm actually having a rum cocktail right now. Great video about a state that I'd lovvve to visit!

I always loved Lucy, Fred and Ethel's enthusiasm when they were trying to persuade Ricky to include them in various things like performing at the club or going somewhere. It's a good thing Fred wasn't in blackface otherwise this episode may have been withdrawn from syndication.

What made the I LOVE LUCY episodes better than her later episodes in the 60s and 70s was there were so many funny scenes in each episode. Besides this scene, later on Lucy runs back and forth playing Ethel's mother and the Mertzes' next door neighbor to fool Freddie Fillmore, and then the final scene where all the stuff is being thrown onto Lucy when Lucy and Ricky perform in the game show.

As a native of Hawaii I have to say the crunch level is so high on this I’m not hating it I’m just laughing and cringing at the same time and I never heard of this show before 10 out of 10 coconut 🤙

I wish they would put I love lucy back on the hallmark channel. If they take the Golden Girls off of there I will not watch hallmark channel ever again I can't stand Reba

I would be really surprised if they ever take off Golden Girls. I wish I Love Lucy would return, but I doubt it will now, unfortunately.
