Then you know it's actually him. There are live videos of this song also, where he adds a "third verse". You’ll definitely want to check that out. You would love him live, he puts on a fantastic concert!!

There are two State of Mine versions. One with them and No Resolve. The 3rd verse version with both those groups and Brandon Davis. Garth really loves it.
When I was in high school I first heard a local band play his "Friends in Low Places" and immediately went out and bought the cassette tape! I've been a fan ever since. I was into hair metal back then and hated everything country. Now, 30 years later, the main genre I listen to is old country from the 50's to the 90's! I still love hair metal, rap, big band, progressive rock, crooners and a lot of others too though.
The reason Garth's videos are not readily available on RU-vid is that he had a dispute with RU-vid. Garth believes the writers of the songs are deserving of royalties like the artists get when their songs are played on RU-vid. RU-vid disagreed, and refused to pay songwriter royalties, so Garth pulled his catalog from RU-vid. I admire his stance on the issue and his action. He believes that the songwriters are deserving of a share of the rewards of their work, and stands by that belief.
It's hard to find his videos, because of this song. When it first came out It had the third verse included which had the wife kill the abusive, cheating husband. But CMT and other videos forced him to cut the third verse which took a month or so. Some of us remember, as does Garth.

This music video was so controversial because of the subject matter. It got banned most places. It does bring the song to life (you see the third verse but its only sung live).. can't really go wrong with any of his music though. love your reactions.
