Moving from 2 tanks to 1 because 2 was not working in queue times, made the queue better for a a couple seasons. Then it got long again because people are dropping off playing Tank, because it's miserable.

God this video was full of so many cool plays. That hanzo at 14:28 getting absolutely rolled, the DVa bomb TP, all the nice boops on Suravassa., and of course the baby Dva double. Super fun to watch, regardless of the state of tank at the moment.

It's just pocketed ashe, cree and soj 1v1s every game with like a mauga, hog, dva or orisa as meta every season for ages

Emongg says data shows unmirrored matches must be showing relatively similar win rates across tanks (minus the couple that got some form of buffs this season probably). This leads me to believe that the possible reason doesn't have anything to do with tanks being well balanced, but rather just due to the lack of impact the overall role has plus the actual impact the rest of the team on both sides makes. Basically, im saying tank is effectively a pointless and unfun role that relies solely on the rest of your team creating effective impact in order to allow the tank any sort of impact itself. If your team isn't playing with you perse, then you are practically going to lose in the role and vice versa.

I feel like 5v5 made it more important than ever for tanks do damage but tank damage has such a low skill ceiling that it's more about picking the right type of damage against the enemy tank. Conversely, pick a tank that can eat damage and rely on your team to kill the tank

Man, I don't comp, but I know how frustrating playing tank can be. I do hope they can do something about it. Seeing Emongg struggle but still trying to have fun is a valiant effort on his part. I miss seeing tank players like him have genuine fun in the role.

I refuse to play tank in compe when dps it so fun. Used to be a tank only player, OW1 and OW2 but 3 seasons now I can’t enjoy the tank gameplay unless it’s QP or arcade. RIP tank mains !

I think the main problem with tank is you HAVE to play what's good. Since it's only one per team, there's just no wiggle room to play what you find fun if it's not in the meta. Like, could you imagine if there was only one healer on a team? Someone would pick Lucio and all you'd hear is "no heals GG". Tanks miss 6v6 the most if only because it gave a little more freedom to choose fun over meta.

Rein is the most understood tank I swear. I had a competitive match were my Kiriko was blaming me as Rein because we were losing and lost. The funny thing is it really wasn't all me. I will admit that I probably should have swapped characters though there was one issue.... one very critical issue that was going to have us lose anyway. We had an Echo that was playing like they were Widow. I didn't even know what to say to that watching the replay. I just watched them being so far back in our back line they might as well have not even been part of the fighting. They were literally trying to snipe with Echo. Instead of flanking them and getting on their back line they were sniping! So the funny thing about this is the match before and after this very match my team won. I was also Rein the entire time. I have gotten to the point I can just tell what the potential issues are now. I'm seeing why we won those matches. My supports and dps were confident and trusted me to do my job. My supports charged in with me and my dps protected us while I softened them up and applied pressure. Rein isn't bad. The player needs his team to work with him like a well oiled machine. It was because of that we won the match before and after. All it takes is one person like that Echo to sabotage a team with a Rein. I'm a new player and I'm seeing these things. As far as I'm concerned I'm not even on the rank board yet. I have maybe 13 competitive games total. I have around 200 quickplay matches though. I only play Role Ques. So yeah I'm not the best though with the right team and teamwork I'm not bad either. At least for where I'm at. Rein is an aggressive character as you all know. Not to be confused with reckless. If the team isn't with you it's going to be a loss. After that first snowball usually too late in my experience.

Yeah tank changes to shift up the meta, like buffing the close range tank killers, pushing the meta even further away from having anything to do with tanks

Hot take move dps passive over to the tank role, add an additional rule that it cannot be applied to other tanks, and it can only be applied to two players at at time. Maybe even additional defensive mitigation unique to each tank. It would make the passive overall less oppressive and help tanks feel a little more impactful.

Cage isnt that strong if you can get team on board with focusing the cage. Especially if you have window or rush. But you gotta comms beforehand to say we are focusing cage. Even mercy, pull out the glock and shoot the cage. Pharah ult the cage. Everyone kill the cage. Usually its the tank solo caged. Ive seen it die in 1 second from torb shotgun+turret, cass, lifeweaver thorns, coalescence, zarya.

I really appreciate your patience and understanding with this game but to me I'm not a pro player or anything I'm pretty casual and I played tank in OverWatch 1 but I'm not buying the quetimes argument anymore because quetimes are long now instead of waiting 20 minutes I guess I get to wait 10. I guess it's marginally better but still not great, I just switched off tank and went to DPS i realized im not having fun on tank anymore and I hope it gets better. I don't know what changes to be in place or anything like that just simply sharing my experience however small it is.

I started playing tank cause my queue times were long for dps and support. I actually just quit the game tonight from that experience of everytime I did ok they counter swap fully to end my fun

In overbuff, why do players play Rien less effectively then other ranks? On overbuff yesterday it was 40% winrate.

2:55 Wait a minute... Sigma said the Barrier broken voice line, but the shield was able to go back up normally within 2 seconds so that he could block the rock instead of the 5 seconds you are stuck with when your shield is broken. I'm... Bewildered as to how.

I dont know why tanks arent actually tanks. Like why dont they have tanks be displacement or crowd control instead of just big damage characters. I think lowering their damage and reducing the ult you build off of them to encourage shooting the other members of the team could really help a lot of the issues

This season feels so boring and bland. Barely any changes and the bp sucks. I know these things are subjective but it doesn't feel like season 10 ended instead it feels like it got extended.

bruh, they need to bring back 6v6 and honestly as long as we all complain about it all the time Blizzard will give in eventually because they literally have no spines. I hate that I'm going to end up quitting Overwatch over this and well also how ridiculous the banning bots are. Getting a warning when all I would tell people is that its nice to meet them and that I'm glad I got to play with them, and purposely avoided any type of criticism of anyone regardless of how they played, INFURIATES me, I permanently have voice and text chat off now because I am so done with it.

I have not loaded up ow since 2 weeks after mauga's release. Every single thing i heard or saw or patch notes i read have been absolutely horrible regarding playing tank. Like whats the point of the kiriko change to suzu? Does it make rein shatter better? Yeah i suppose it does, however they buffed mei reaper, sym and orisa so good luck playing rein even disregarding no nerfs to mauga

Absolutely corny when someone is losing and they pick Mauga and win. And I'm talking from experience. Mad corny.

It's just an inherently bad role. I don't know why they don't adjust to a different role and then re work the tanks to fit in the better roles that exist plus a new role better than tank like a flanker or jumper or something

Adding Mauga was a bigger change to tank enjoyability than any balance patch can achieve. STOP RELEASING GARBAGE TANKS and stop aiming for perfect 50% winrate for them. Why not create a JQ meta for a while instead of Mauga, Orisa, Hog. Hog's rework did nothing except make Hog harder to counter and orisa has been meta for months because she kept getting buffs. It's so stupid. This is how you make tank enjoyable.

tank is in such a weird spot. being both super OP, and completely unplayable. your the strongest member of the team...but your defensive abilities are so trash if you even try to walk out in the open you just die. tank either has to go to 6v6, or tank has to somehow become a LOT less stronger while still not feeling like punching bags. and no, removing their ability to kill in exchange for hp will NOT fix the issue, and will literally just make them punching bags in a different sense. might make the game feel playable for tank though, since although they will be cosmetic and deal next to no significant damage, at least they aren't forced to hide and can actually take aggressive angles...maybe it IS the solution...idk.

Tank is unplayable as it is in season 11. That's not to mention being thrown in losers queue if the devs don't like you, cheaters ruining ranked games, and game ruining bugs... I am boycotting tank for the rest of the season. Anyone else care to join?
