Thank you so much for this. As said before I was keen for this full story as I work in hospitality, I'm a druggie, live in the country and I couldn't relate anymore to this dam character. Most stories are like "look a ghost oh spooky booo" or "look out for Slenderman pen1s" but this one oh no I could relate to this one from the bat.

As an ex-heroin addict, I can say with surety that this story is a very good allegory for actual addiction. Usually doesn't happen so much with psychedelics but the way The Story Goes is certainly the case with addiction in general. Bliss in EVERY way followed by something still good but not pure bliss followed by really weird followed by bad times bad followed by hell. The author conveys in a very quick way how addiction actually progresses, only it's not nearly as colorful for most of us. Damn glad I'm off of that shit.

This was so hard 😢. At first, I was also annoyed by the end. Hours later it hit me: this isn't about some sci-fi tripping adventure. This is an intentional analogy for drug abuse. How it escalates from recreational use to losing your friends, your job, your sanity, even your health and eventually your life. I think the result would have remain the same had he taken the pills in a different order. He was given enough red flags from pill #3 and yet he was unavoidably dragged. That's why the end feels so hollow: it's the result of an overdose (maybe a comma, maybe death itself). It's like reading the end of Emergence again ._.

This is one of my go-to faves when the current Creepypasta stock is lacking. It's truly amazing the volume of work put in the past 11 or 12 years by so many talented writers. If the new stuff is sparse or lacking there are hundreds and hundreds of stories to discover or revisit.

@@yinnacle9885 I just read them. They're called "I was a guard station at a secret government prison." its a nine part series so its pretty long. It's not really horror based, more action based but it's super intense and I highly recommend. It all ties together with the reality stories in the end.

Question. After the second trip, why didn't he pack a backpack full of essentials? Food, water, first aid, sleeping bag, camera, knife, gun etc? Yes, the addition has a vice grip on him but after the second trip he is still able to think relatively clearly. He can still trip but do it with a survival bag.

Didn't much care for the ending but I understand why it is the way it is. This story is about drug abuse, and it only makes sense for each pill to represent a stage of it. It's a person experimenting with the drug, and receiving all of its positive aspects. The first pill is amazing, it gives a euphoric rush, and pleasant feelings the entire way, with pleasant hallucinations. The second pill is not as good as the first, the feeling of euphoria is still there but it's dulled by other things, you don't get the same feelings you do on the first, and some of the negative effects start to show. When it's dulled by this, the regular use of these substances is represented. The third pill is the first time where the physical effects start to show, where the drug starts actively hurting the person consuming it. THIS is absolutely the point where things should end, but the addiction is too strong at this point and unfortunately it must continue. When the drug trips become dangerous like this, it goes from regular useage to risky useage. The fourth pill is a lot like the third just worse. It shows how destructive the drug has become on the person consuming it. Despite the fact that the third pill showed the narrator that he was in real danger consuming the pills, he still consumed the fourth, and it was even worse and more damaging than the third. His addiction compelled him to take it, leading him to dependence. The addiction manifests itself fully in the fifth pill, despite all the injuries sustained and despite all the hardship the narrator caves in to addiction and consumes the final pill. The dimension he goes to is symbollic of death. Thus why he's unable to escape it once the euphoria of the drug comes to an end. Sure, it could've been real, and the narrator may have gone to alternate dimensions everytime he took a pill. However, all of it could have been fake, the injuries he sustained could have happened for real, and in his mind he came up with creatures that could have caused them instead. Overall, one of the better stories I've seen, incredibly well handled, and has some amazing visuals. One I think everyone should see at least once.

Although the addiction in the story relates to a drug habit, I feel that the experiences that the protagonist goes through can be experienced with other addictions. MCP you are a fantastic narrator. Having said that, I have spent the entire first 34 minutes thinking that the Main Character in this story has to be absolutely the most foolish character in all of CreepyPastaDom. I have never heard or read a story with a character that I thought was more lost or deluded. :) I hope this story is an allegory about just how dangerous and stupid real-world substance abuse is, and how insane and irrational any addiction is. I don't think anyone puts as much effort into there ad reads as Internet Historian, hell no one can be bothered to do different each time. They just Pre-Record one and replay it however many times the sponsorship is for.

I don't like the ending of this one too much. In cases where creepypastas end with the Main Protag being lost, killed, or meeting a worse fate, it always leaves me with this question: How did they bring this story to the masses then? How do we know what they've been through? It makes no sense if you don't tie that last part into the story, was he keeping log or something?

This one was so cool! My biggest question is if the pills transported him to other planets within his universe or different universes entirely. It’s not exactly clear. Regardless, I love the ones with other worlds.

Except for the story reasons and purposes and allegory, which is all great and understandable and quite well written and told, I'm still otherwise a bit confused as to the ending... why didn't it return, the "wormhole," why didn't it return him like with previous (bio-keyed -chemical* ? the significance of the euphoria wearing off... other than the meta-story reasons) recall? It doesn't make sense if it wasn't specifically designed that way...unless I'm missing something.., but (still) then that would make it a trap of sorts, but with no real or observable purpose or benefit to anyone we can perceive of through how the story is told... otherwise, logistically, he should have to returned ...in 32? days? It went at a steady rate (2, 4, 8, and 16 I'm guessing...alas, not confirmed) so far even if it seems his perceptions were affected while on the other side, so perhaps something about the nature of this world or thos reality would make heom experience an eternity of hellish near-nothingness... as other worlds also seemed to have had some rather unique primers and aspects as if indeed a part of other universes entirely judging by what we observed of said nature... of course with me, what went through my mind the most was the wasted opportunity for research and sample collection and what could be been done with said sample in our world...the progress, and the riches of course ...or if others could've been brought along or out as it seemed the gateway, the "portal" definitely allowed for a transference, for things to spill over, both ways and even without (inter)action on behalf of the "user" ...this also reminded me of the Reluctant Dimension Hopper and the Infinite Sinkhole, (or that Red Sea Disk for that matter, or the oft forgotten gateway made in the submerged miraculous machine(("broken(?)")god) city...), from the SCP franchise...which I suppose is also a type of a creepypasta storytelling or at least can be seen as such, as evolving from or being inspired by still

Man I really loved this series... Feel like it should've kept going the ending was kinda disappointing. Regardless it was still enjoyable and a fresh take on a story concept.
