Wearing it out is the best way, but if someone really wants to destroy an AR 15, I recommend making the cut starting at the wrist and proceeding toward the elbow.

Im going to destroy my last AR15 so its rendered useless, to do this I plan to buy a new AR15 to shoot the last AR15 until it no longer functions....#oneless
Often times, when I go to the range to practice, I see people who are clueless, and they have a $3000 AR. They should have spent $700 on a rifle, and $2300 in training. I agree with you, anyone who owns one of these, and thinks its to take innocent lives, needs to cut it theirs up. Mine have never hurt anyone, nor will they, unless its in self defense or defense of others. Ar-15's are the most versatile rifles on the planet and a helluva lot of fun. Good video.
In reality, their is no point to this. By the time he destroys this AR there is a hundred to a thousand more made. The point is lost when it does not contribute to the cause he's promoting. Literally, what hes doing is wasting his money. Plus, shootings are done mostly with handguns not rifles.

I understand it's the correct way to destroy an AR-15. The fact is the whole premise is pointless. It wont solve any society problems now or in the future. It's like if I took my car to the junkyard because cars were killing to many people. Does it solve the issue that cars kill people, no. Destroying objects, tools, weapons, or transportation does not solve anything. People are the problem not the AR-15.

great video dude! i aspire to destroy all of my AR's in the same manner as you! but i have a problem, all the ones i have built i have a hard time wanting to put them through their paces and beat up you know,lol. put too much money in them and in my eyes they are too pretty to beat up!

Anyone wishing to dispose of their AR15 in a manner which will prevent crime, should send them to ME. They will never be used in a crime. I have been collecting AR15s for over 30 years now (ever since the A2 model came out) in an effort to get ALL of them into my collection where they will never be used improperly.

Ok! I have to disagree with part of this video! My personal opinion is, if someone feels they may be a dangerous person, yes they should not have any type of firearm! But anyone that cuts up such a fine rifle should be jailed! Don’t want the rifle anymore, there are many couples that would adopt and care for the rifle! Give it a loving home, take it to ranges and play with it often!
Kristy Basham, I do believe Shawn watched the video correctly but he is just saying people should not destroy their rifles. I for one could not care less if you cut up, smash or melt down an AR type rifle. These things are pumped out by the thousands daily. Destroy them all you want. Supply far out weighs the demand.
If they truly feel they can’t be trusted with a firearm I agree let them destroy it no more killings or if they want them to go to a gun safe home I’m sure they could find responsible firearm owner to take proper care of them and ensure that a hunk of aluminum and plastic and never go on a ar-15 induce killing spree because as we all know guns make the killers not there mental instability or other issues they might have

Do you really think that Destroying you own weapons will save lives? Criminals will still get a hold of them no matter at what cost. Do you really expect the Law Enforcement to Serve and Protect you 24-7? Of course we have to call Emergency but what if there is no service? No one in the area to help you? Who knows what will happen.
I had my suspicion where this was going. I agree , if you think you are a danger to society destroy your weapon or give it to me ( leagally). We do probably need more regultion to make sure that these people that feel they are a threat to society do dispose of their weapons do it properly.

My opinion on dismantling your firearm doesn't solve anything. Keeping that weapon in your safe ensures it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. Considering the current events, I'd say it would be better to have it, just in case.
I dont own, but we all have the freedom to give up our firearms if we dont agree with their intended purpose. None of us have the right to deny that ownership to anyone else, regardless of second amendment rights. We shouldnt need a document to dictate behavior that doesnt actively harm another. Ownership alone harms nobody and therefore should not fall into the realm of rights or privilege, government needs no permission to arm itself, why should we?
To dispose of an AR properly , I would suggest placing the flash hider in the mouth , and chewing the rifle into scrap while firing it in fully semi automachine mode with a high capacity magazine clip.
if you feel like you dont want your firearms anymore, and want to destroy them, please make sure you are doing it legally, it's not a good idea to do so, but there are certain regulations pertaining to the manner of which you discard a firearm.
Off topic, but it's funny how some states won't allow .223 Rem for hunting deer and black bear, but will allow .357 Magnum from a revolver, even though it's power is limited to about 70% of the power of .223 from a rifle. Some claim the caliber size is why, but soft point ammo allows excellent expansion and penetration of .223.
Amen you said it right. We in America have the right to bare arms as covered in the 2nd amendment be we also have the freedom of choice to exercise that right as all other rights that I fought for serving our country. If you choose to not exercise the 2nd amendment then by all means go ahead but don’t interfere and try and take away the freedom of others that choose to exercise their right that I fought for but most importantly that the brave men and women that fought before me and died fighting for that freedom to exercise all our rights as an American. Please from the bottom of my heart I beg you do not disrespect those that have fought and died for our freedom. I agree sir. 100% I love mine. accurate for target plinking and I plan on taking a few deer (here in Georgia it's legal for big game) and a buddy in Alabama invited me to coyote hunt with him. my AR 15 will be my choice gun for that.
