Recently, I was featured in an article-and not in a good light. Let me address the controversy and make something very, crystal clear. Follow Snazzy Labs on Twitter - / snazzyq Follow me on Instagram - / snazzyq
Appreciate the thorough clear-up, but no need to apologize - you clearly have good, honest intentions in mind with your work. Thanks for keeping it real.
I always considered you to be the most honest Apple reviewer on RU-vid. If you didn't like something, you told us. You didn't hand wave away serious issues under a cloud of whataboutism, or downplay things that could obviously be better. For those of us who are Apple likers, not Apple fanatics, you're a clear voice. Keep up the excellent work!
My problem with many "Apple Reviewers" is that they usually know nothing about technology, and that is a problem when you REVIEW TECHNOLOGY. Quinn is great in that regard, he knows what he's talking about.
You were not the one who made a mistake. You tweeted something, on Twitter, where people post the most absurd crap out there. You didn't make a full video pointing this out, and you are not an official source for this information. MacRumors is showing some piss-poor journalism by citing you as a source without even bothering to read the whole thread.
Context makes a big difference and the difficulty of becoming a bigger player means people will take a soundbyte they want to use and twist. Great video and I love when your videos drop! Keep up the great work and keep it Snazzy!
Appreciate the clarity Bro. Helps me respect you. Not that I didn’t before. I’m not a huge fan of your channel, just personal preference, but I like to see this kind of honesty from journalists. Best wishes. 🤙
I genuinely love your opinions on everything Quinn. You hold companies accountable and don't pretend that they can do no wrong, but also praise what is actually good. It's great that you cleared things up but there's no need to apologize. Everyone makes mistakes and has a hot take or two. Looking forward to seeing more videos!
Saying, "I want to make my Tweets less sassy," and typing, "Make Twitter less Elon Again" at the same time that Elon is trying to buy Twitter is top shelf sassiness. 🤣
@@arrone7 Tweets and videos can then include a Sass-o-meter to make it painfully obvious how sassy they are. Or maybe a Twitter replacement that has that baked in: Sassier. The possibilities are endless!
You’re the only RU-vidr I genuinely look forward to watching for tech content. People just look for reasons to hate, and shit on others while sitting behind their screens doing nothing expect being a sheep (whether it be towards or against apple). Don’t ever let this bother you. You have, and still are the most fair judge of Apple’s products. Keep up what you’re doing, cause you’re killing it. And like always, stay snazzy haha
People that are against Apple have very good reasons for that. They are not sheep. Apple products are ridiculously overpriced, and Apple Corp is *profoundly* anti-consumer. That's a fact.
why do you have to apologize for someone elses mistake ? also as an "apple hater" i keep watching becasue they are very interesting products but that i would never want to own
Macrumor's editorial has been of very low bar. IMO, they post whatever gives them clicks. Once there's a decently popular youtuber made a video about magsafe charger cant draw more than 15 watts. its was featured and popularised on MR's site. I wrote to them and debunk the news with my video proof, they didnt even bother to reply or correct the article. So my point is MR is rubbish, read with a pinch of salt, their own fault for not verifying info they post. which seems common doing from them.
I've been on the Macrumors forums for decade now. Macrumors will turn literally anything into an article, especially during slow periods. I use it for the forums and nothing else really.
Long-time viewer, first-time commenter: As an Apple fanboy from way back, I must say that I sincerely appreciate your willingness to criticize Apple when it’s necessary. I also really appreciate this candid take, and your commitment to keeping yourself - and your viewers - honest.
I love reading “Twitter troll” Quinn’s tweets. He’s just mostly having fun. I don’t get why every individual/RU-vid/Social media personality doesn’t have a Twitter specifically for their business and then a separate personal one. I know Quinn does have two accounts but his personal account does merge or promote his RU-vid channel a lot.
OOOOOooouuu!!! Craft Computing is in comments!!! We've been blessed by an other terrific tech youtuber. Dudes, dudettes, and dudethems: follow this channel if you're into Tech DIY's and Cool hardware demos!!
It's a shame more and more creators get a lot of backlash for their mistakes or opinions. Look at Arlo who made a mostly negative Sonic 2 review or Mrwhosetheboss who accidentally used a "fake" geekbench 5 score. Its kind of depressing. Glad you came out, though! None of us are perfect.
Mrwhosetheboss literally admitted it was a mistake by taking the image from google images. He wasn't deliberately faking the benchmark. He also apologised, similar to how Quinn is doing here.
I appreciate your videos for their humor and their balance. You love good technology, not just a single company. It’s what the tech space needs most. You keep being snazzy!
Oh well, life goes on. I find your videos very interesting because you always cover things from a different angle than all the other tech RU-vidrs. Keep up the good work mate!
Quinn, ever since I discovered your channel,. I have not stopped watching. You give us the real assessment of technology you review and not fluff. Thanks for keeping it real 100% of the time. Also, I have become a better Mac user because of your channel. Keep up the good work.!!
Thank you for being you, please keep being you. Keep bringing your unique sassiness to the conversations. The folks at Mac Rumours clearly messed up, I hope they take this opportunity to improve.
You are damn honest with reviews. You pretty much made me buy M1 Mac mini last year, it was still a tough decision after watching your videos, but I knew what to expect from this and it's been awesome computer
Quinn, thank you for embracing the Honest Knowledge Broker (HKB) mindset, which is why I started watching this channel 10 years ago! You demonstrate critical thinking more than most. The misunderstandings and pushback that you have received bringing you to post this video, are part of the human condition and why communication will never achieve perfection. Adding clarity and taking responsibility is a "perfect behavior" and throughout this video, you offered both in droves. I've never felt offended, confused, or "negative" by your reviews here and snarky comments on other social media (that I also follow you on). Your snarky side makes me laugh and I appreciate the entirety of your personality that you make visible to us all. Thank you, keep it up, you have my support. 🙂
You don’t need to apologize for anything. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter and it’s just a cell phone, who cares how big or small the bezels are.
Can confirm, my 16" M1 Pro MacBook Pro is a technological marvel. This is the first time I haven't felt like I need to connect up my desktop peripherals and monitor to have a proper computer experience. I can just use it as is and it's amazingly comfortable and natural for everything I do. My M1 MacBook Air didn't come close, largely thanks to the display size.
Having an opinion means you risk being wrong and you tried to prove it and got it wrong that says nothing , it was your viewpoint and I appreciate you sharing this with us , it is why we follow and listen to you have to say ,keep up the great work and never let any negativity gets to you
Honestly, never reply to silly criticism on large fan subreddits. They will just find more to criticize and will double down on their original points as unfounded as they might be. Also, the bezel apology is the most minor thing. I couldn’t care less. But it really shows how seriously you take what you do and I have to respect that.
Thank you for owning even this kind of slight mistake that anyone can make. I always found your content honest, unbiased, entertaining and educational at the same time. Don't be discouraged by negative comments, keep doing what you do best!! Thank you!
I remember us following each other on Twitter when your channel was small and I’ve always found your channel The ONLY tech and apple channel worth watching. It’s genuine and isn’t clickbait. Keep it up champ!
Quinn, I've always watched your channel because of these styles of videos. You are pushing the envelop of technology. Anyway keep up the good works. (:
Love your channel bro. Appreciate you not getting all defensive and blaming others. Even though your post was completely innocent it's important to remember the weight that respected tech media sources such as yourself hold. You taking a moment to analyze how your otherwise benign post could have a ripple effect is a process that I wish/hope others in the tech media (and social/mainstream media in general) would exercise. Keep up the great work!
I whole heartily agree with various comments. I started watching your channel with the intent of building a Hackintosh and ended up buying a Mac Mini :). I also LOVE your attention to detail and is one of the reasons I watch your content.,
I've been with Android from the beginning and always preferred them but in 2021 got an iPhone for the first time, the iPhone 13 Pro Max which is awesome. I know what you mean about Apple improving - iOS is now at a point that I can use it the way I want to use it.
I think we need to talk about the REAL problem.. that handlebar mustache from 2017. My god, man. thank you for clearing THAT up. Also, Reddit is a cesspool. your reviews are refreshing and honest, even when I don't agree with them, you rarely make illogical points.
Maybe I do not understand, but I do not feel like you needed an apology. Keep up your great content. :) being in Platforms I still learn a lot from you you rock!
This is what integrity looks like. My god your videos are some of, if not the most well researched, balanced on RU-vid from a guy who clearly not only really knows his technology but is an even bigger lover of it. Don’t change what you do.
The fact that you take yourself to such task over something as - in light of all world events - quite trivial means I will continue to sub your channel for as long as I buy Mac products. You’re a decent guy in an indecent world. Keep at it.
I think you have the best Mac channel on RU-vid. I switched from a lifetime on PCs to a Mac (but I followed your channel even when I was using PC.) It is rare to find people that are tinkeres and true power users on Mac ( not that there are none or that it is not something you can do). So cudos to you, and yeah you are absolutley right Apple is killing it. They are still a shity company, but they truly have amazing lineup right now, I actually am quite stoked that I as an graphic designer/ illustrator can have a cheaper macbook + ipad truly pro setup, then for instance with a nice Windows laptop and a drawing tablet (like a Wacom Cintq). Thanks for all of your content, it had been super usefull, for me for getting fast on the power users level on a Mac, as I was on Windows/ PC side
Constructive criticism is always a good thing if taken in the spirit it was given. No, Apple is far from perfect, but so are all the other companies out there.
Classy video all around. Your addressing of the Macrumors issue and the Reddit trolls was done with aplomb. I love watching your videos and will continue to do so.
I know this is a year old video (just found your channel, im browsing haha), but the state of apple 5 years ago is what pushed me to build a PC. And I love my PC, it's a great machine, and served me well for both creative work and gaming. But seeing how much the M chips are killing it I upgraded to a Mac Studio, and my god I gotta say, it's SO good to be back in Apple's ecosystem. The Studio thrashes my PC, and I just put a nice new shiny graphics card in it. You're right on the money I think - the past year or two Apple's really kicked it up. There's always room for improvement, but I'm super happy with my new kit.
Hear hear. I switched over to PC back in 2019 as I was desperately in need of an upgrade and nothing since 2015 was remotely competitive in Apple's lineup. Now however I am typing from M1 MacBook Pro and loving it. I really do hope the Mac Pro later this year is less obtuse and unreachable than the 2019 desktop.
