this is so similar to our traditional banana fritter balls at home in Indonesia, we call it Godok - basically it's just mashed banana, sugar, and flour (self-rising) mixed together and fried. Great afternoon tea snack~!

In vietnam we have this very easy recipe of crispy fried banana covered in rice and starch batter (just some leftover rice mixed with cornstarch or potato starch, some all purpose flour, a touch of baking soda, tbsp of veggie oil, water,..personally i add some whiskey 😂, the thickness of the batter is almost like a runny custard), i think you will love it. The texture is dreamy, gooey inside, outside is crispy and crunchy.

My mom is Indian and she's always making this dish. It's called Goolgahlah. I don't know how it's spelled of if she just made it up but the recipe uses: Banana, self rising flour, milk, egg, sugar, nutmeg & essence (this would be vanilla extract).

oh, i just made those a few days ago, it is quite common to cook it during hindu festivities, atleast in my household, you should try it with self raising flour and milk powder. the taste is even better. I call them gateau banane or malpua
