The winners have been announced! In the video, my entry was not shown. Apparently they narrowed down to 10 after the chosen 25, oh well! It was an adventure!
They didn't 'feature' the dress, but it was on the intro part. So, it was there!!! Well done for putting that together so quickly and with scraps! BTW: I think it's appropriate you kept losing a shoe. It was a Cinderella dress, after all! ;)
This dress reminds me a lot of the one from Enchanted! Her dress is also pink with a blue outer layer and is also made from scraps (well, curtains actually :/)
It is beautiful! My favorite part though is that you used scraps. I've been trying to work through my own stash and recycle and reuse what I can. Plus it helps with the clean out!
I love how you can make the skirt so big and puffy by itself that it does not even require a hoop skirt. I love the dress, I wish the pink pard would have been as long as the blue too.
this is so pretty!!! the silk flows beautifully, and it really does look like a perfect midpoint between the two dresses from the film!! excellent job! fingers crossed for your entry in the contest :)
I cannot even believe 120 seams in one of the skirts! You're amazing. I love doing scrap dresses myself. But this was epic! That green underskirt that I can see when you were in motion was to die for! And the minute entry actually made me tear up a bit. Beautiful! truly!
Cinderella dresses I'd love to see: The Brandy one The Disney animated one (it's silver!!!) The Disney live action one, but in the pale silver of the animated Continue the list!
Wow you are so talented and creative it's unbelievable! The dress is stunning, the combination of both dresses is so creative. Cinderella is my favorite movie and that video at the end almost brought tears to my eyes, congrats on your work!
It's absolutely gorgeous!! I have to admit that the person wearing it is more beautiful than the dress... Bless you sweetheart for having such a loving and good heart!!
At first I was like why did she put so many layers if you only get to see the outer ones? But then when I saw it moving I understood, it is breathtaking
Sewing while camping? Ma'am, you're a queen! I must tell you how incredibly satisfying all those layers are, the shades, the iridescence, so beautiful. This dress reminded me also Sleeping Beauty. "Blue!" "No, pink!" And you got to use the scraps which is always amazing. Although the scraps that are too small to be used make my doll-loving soul sad. They can always be turned into tiny dresses!
Absolutely stunning. I almost prefer it to the original ball gown. Ingenious concept and amazing outcome. Such a coincidence that you lost a shoe at the end. Congratulation Bella Mae, I truly hope you win! x
Woah, I thought my 60 some odd piece Zelda skirt was crazy! I have 20 panels of satin to go from fitted to circle skirt, and then each of those has 2 stripes on it, that I've been working on for ages, plus I have loops for a lace up back, which attaches to my scrap project, the underskirt layer being 20 pieces of scrap cotton, with boning I had left over from another dress. It's pretty cool to see what can be done with leftovers most people would either throw away, or not really do anything with.
Bella you brought tears to my eyes with this one!!! Can I ask.. In the finished dress at the front is that parts of the skirt you've pinned up into the waistband to add a drape? It almost looks like how the original beauty and the beast dress was drawn and I'm going to be making that. Xxx
You are a master of colors! I always see the fabrics you choose and think they look so pretty alone, but once you’ve combined them I’m just blown away even more! Gorgeous, creative costume
Congratulations on making the short list,I hope you win, the dress is beautiful, such a great idea to freeze the transformation and creat your masterpiece.
How is it that a last minute costume thrown together out of your scrap pile is prettier than any piece of clothing I own? Oh right, you have mad skills. Congrats on the awesome costume.
😱💕💕💕💕💕💕💕 Bella!!!!!! This dress came out amazing! I cannot believe you were able to make this amazing dress just out of scraps! What a fantastic idea! I am absolutely in love with your creation and am soooo inspired! Just gorgeous 💕
as the dress is supposed to be a blending of the 2 in the live action i think you pulled it off rather well, so the waist isn't quite right it just depicts the blending better. I hope you win you have done some great making videos thank you.
I mean this was gorgeus. I love the concept and the way you described it was just beautiful. Goodluck to you. I am going to dig through my scrap pieces to make aomething..
Awesome everything about it! Thank you so much for sharing your journey because it gives us hope. Can’t tell you how much sewing and crocheting I have done while camping lol. And scraps! How inspirational is that? Awesome thank you so much
I have to say I really love this dress and this design it's gorgeous I love the idea the thought behind it it's amazing I hope you don't mind if once I learn how to sew and become a fashion designer myself if I make a dress similar to yours because it's just so beautiful and inspiring and I love it 🤗💞
Ill take unwanted scraps for quilting even the too small pieces . I use silk, cotton, linen, muslin, organza, etc., I layer silk with a backing and make these shimmer like watercolor landscape quilts for couch's, walls and bed quilts. I used silk and cotton leftovers from clothing to make a beautiful sunrise quilt. Making a winter quilt with a silk sari and cotton batik.
Ever since I discovered your insta a few years ago I’ve wanted to see an original design from you and lemme tell ya it didn’t disappoint. I don’t know how so much talent can exist in one person but here we are. When I first saw photos of the dress I really wanted to know how the petticoat/hoop structure worked so that was awesome to see. Amazing work as always!!
