I live in a shoebox studio apartment in the middle of a large city and I feel the pain of making sure every part of my cosplay is nontoxic. Glad that there's a creator doing tutorials for people like us. The fabric sleeve is so smart, because I've been suffering through 100 layers of wood glue and acrylic paint up to this point for my foam props. I'm still trying to find a way to make wings without melting/drilling PVC 😭
@SarahSpaceman

I live in a shoebox too. I cover everything in plastic sheets and open all windows. And I will do my shit in the house cause if I don't, I just stop cosplay.... Or go do stuff at my parents house who have a garden when I have time.

Also it's really great that she's actually making a thing of it. Like when I was in high school I don't recall anyone talking about that, and in so much videos you only see hand shots, so I used to use spray primer and contact cement without even a mask (thank God I didn't have the money for a dremel). There are definitely not enough security warnings out there

As someone with weak lungs a more nontoxic way to make cosplay is really amazing to see. Also your sewing skills/knowledge are amazing, I can't imagine the time it takes to make these costumes and these videos. My mom is generational seamstress and I didn't really get the chance to learn much from her, so your segments of video overexplaining the stitching's. For me it's "oh! that's what mom was talking about!" and I have more appreciation for sewing and the work it takes.

I live in a space with animals and it’s constantly disgusting outside weather wise, so I can never use toxic materials. I’ve avoided prop making for a while because all the tutorials used expensive and/or toxic materials. This was really helpful in showing me ways to make props without potentially harming myself or those around me!

Maybe because it’s the Christmas season but before you put the strawberry and the bow on it, it reminded me of the giant utensils the rats use in some variations of the Nutcracker. OMG YES! I use all non-toxic VERY cheap materials, (most stuff you could find at home) but thank you for showing that you don't have to spend a lot of money on toxic materials to make a good cosplay! I typically make all my stuff out of cardboard because I don't have a lot of access to foam, and all those spray-stuff that you need a respirator for! My first con is in January and I'm so excited! I hope to see more videos of you making cosplay, seeing as I watch them while I work on cosplays! Thanks so much for making this again!!!

I never imagined that I would learn/relearn so much from someone creating a giant fork. It is funny and great. I love cosplay for it's absurdity in the best ways. Thank you. I LOVE that you did this only using non-toxic tools. I have always wanted to get into bigger cosplay (I have only done sewing projects thus far) but can't do anything with fumes because of my health. It is possible and gives me hope to get into cosplay again!

Watching you add in the gussets on the fork brought me back to the nightmare that was trying to machine sew a pair of gloves. I've made a few gusseted gloves since, but I have refused any machine sewing for them. Hand sewing all the way for me. Also, I've only been here about a month. Your vids kept showing up in my recommended and I loved all of them so I've slowly been going through all your vids. I wish you the best and (if it hasn't already happened) that this channel finally gets monetized. Honestly avoiding toxic materials in general is so smart. The solution you came up with is really cool and makes me wanna try using fabric on some guns I wanna make in the future rather than suffering at the hands of the dremel.
