I found a paintbrush around my home the other day with deadass ONE hairstraw, and I was...excited? It was a gift from the gods themselves? My life was complete now? When you said that you were obsessed with the idea of going into boarding school in New England, and having life changing adventures while writing poetry and studying literature I felt so called out lmao that's literally my dream. I would kill to go to Yale and study in gorgeous libraries, and then breaking rules for the heck of it for self discovery with friends. The dream.

Sadly, none of my four years of studying literature at university were even remotely dark-academia-ish, although I did get weirdly into Marxist/feminist/British magick realism from the 1960s so that's kind of its own special aesthetic I guess. I don't know if this is because I went to a boring university in a boring state and not freaking Yale, or if dark academia is, dare I say it, an idealization of romanticism that revolves around hero-worshiping a bunch of almost certainly racist old white men. Who can say?
