The phrenology box in the background is a decoration I bought from Michael's this year simply because I thought it looked cool. It is incredibly upsetting to find out that phrenology has been used SOO problematically in history. It is something I was uneducated about, and even when I tried to research why it was problematic, I struggled to find useful information. I shouldn't have bought it since I knew nothing about the topic besides the fact that it's a pseudoscience and it's mostly used as decor nowadays. I'm beyond upset with myself for purchasing it and putting it in the background. I was debating deleting this video because I can't stand to think of this mistake, but I'm not sure if that's the best solution. I just want to apologize for displaying it and seeming like I support something like that. I don't, and I wish I could undo it. But I am grateful to the few people who informed me about its history in the comments. I'm really sorry.
@@MarieGarrett. Phrenology was used to justify slavery. The pseudoscience was created as a means to predict the traits of people based on the shape and bumps of the brain. Certain traits of the brain would mean that the individual lacked intelligence and had extremely violent tendencies. Racists would say that African brains were shaped differently, thus backing up the justification of slavery. They used phrenology to label slaves as too mentally incompetent to have their own freedom and that they were violent people who would harm if set free. Veda is correct: there are almost no resources online describing the disgusting mentality behind phrenology. I learned about the horrors behind it in a college history course. Thank you for addressing this, Veda. I understand why you wouldn't know the intent behind phrenology because there is no information at easy access, but I can't believe they would sell that in stores!
I loved the way the ritual oil came out and want to say If you’re not a witch, you can always tweak the ritual oil recipe to be used as a pretty body oil.
@ariola granola you think to yourself “do I want to be a witch” or “do I feel called to witchcraft” and if yes you do some googling and studying! Even if your answer is no it’s always good to look into it more, maybe you’re called by something you’ve not heard of yet! There’s lots of wonderful witches online but for a beginner I would highly recommend “The witch of wonderlust” here on RU-vid for a start!
I love to tea dye and coffee stain old book pages and use them as pages for my personal junk journals I make for myself. I just find it more sentimental having a book I love inside a journal I handmade myself and will be documenting my life.
I’d suggest for in the little envelope that you write hopes for the future, things you desire to happen, goals, etc. It gives that element of fun when you get to open them after you’ve forgotten. Maybe even add a picture or something small and a “don’t open til” label to.
i love the bg music its either got being chased in a haunted house vibes or graveyard in spring vibes or addams vibes and its just way more calming and interesting than like 90% of youtube video bg music
Palmistry Tip: Take a dry washcloth and make it into a little mound. Since our hands are concave, flat prints don't work well, as you discovered. Set your paper over the washcloth and then make your print. The washcloth will push the paper up into the center of your hand. A rolled up sock might also work.
I'm usually not fond of videos of "easy witchy DIY" because they all seem the same and end up looking cheap, but yours were really nice. It's probably the fact that you used real "ingredients" and not papier mâché. Liked the little pentagram wreath, simple and pretty !
When you first started with your hand on the paper it reminded me of The Dark Brotherhood from The Elder Scrolls game. I was expecting to see you write "We know" lol All of these crafts are very beautiful!
I'll be honest, the palmistry font gives me more St Trinian's vibes than Harry Potter vibes (Maybe I've just been watching too much St Trinian's recently) Loving all of the autumn themed content and so awesome to see some magickal crafts too!!!!
Though I’m not necessarily into Dark Academia I thought watching little crafts and DIYs would be interesting and satisfying and omg it was!! Good content! Quality is amazing and you really showed details of each step which is helpful if I were to actually follow along!
I just can't find one I want, my mum found a heart shaped one, but I didn't want that. I'd prefer a flower one or a leaf or both!. I haven't looked online though and there would definitely be some selling. I don't know, I might make my own somehow. Have you tired it yet? I've never tried using wax seals, but I really want to.
Thank you this is exactly what I wanted to see!. I'm sad, because autumn is almost over here.. Today is the 29th of May.. I've done barely any autumn things that I wanted to do like play in the leaves in a town I like, but it's ok.. I still went to that town twice with my mum and I saw the falling leaves and my mum gave me a nice leaf which I will either keep in a box or put into my journal, I don't want to put it into my journal because then I can't bring it if I travel, but I won't be travelling to any other country anytime soon.. I also didn't make an autumn scrapbook like I wanted to, but I can still make some pages of the memories in my journal. Veda is such a nice name!. The crafts you did were so good! And the tiny envelope was very helpful because I need one for a tiny card I have and of course I can make my own! I don't know why I didn't think of that.. and I have been curious to know if I could use candle wax instead of wax melts to make a wax seal (which I think is what people do, I think I've seen it, but anyway..) And now I know that I can. You are very pretty and I love the whole aesthetic!. Dark academia is my new favourite aesthetic.
This is so so cool! I'm so glad I found your channel because I love it. I'm curious to know what you do besides your channel that you can afford all these beautiful things! I'm a baby witch so I'm inspired by all these crafts you made and I'm looking forward to more witchy videos
The painted hand is so so beautiful and also the letters, wow :D Please make a video on how you learned to write the way you did on these letters!!!!!!
Loved this! Love your kitty's! The palmistry hand so cool and I definitely will be making the wreaths. Learned something I didn't know as well.wouldnt have noticed I'd you didn't point it out. You can decoupage over the Michael's thing. No harm.
I'm automatically reminded of RG Veda and spends the rest of the day watching vintage Manga. I appreciate the head cannon ... plus the crafts are super pretty x
I absolutely love that hand painting! I’m gonna try something like it right now!! Also, Jasper and your other kitty (didn’t catch her name sorry) are adorable
Please, please don't apologize for your personal practice! You do YOU! That's why we are here.....thanks sweetie 😘 ❤ we all give and take what's needed. Just go with your flow....it's all necessary
Realy love your feed! I love this vibe of witchcraft and dark academia combined.. and just to give you one more idea, as I make my own colored papers as well..instead of tea, you can use a mixture of water and coffee...it gives the paper a bit darker look than tea and smells great too... 🍂
Just found this and I’m definitely saving for future use! The ritual oil, letters, and wreaths were my favorites☺️ I have ideas to make 4 wreaths, one for each solstice, and hang them on my front door throughout the year. And for the letters I’m going to put in old live notes from my partner that I can reopen years from now❤️
You mentioned Virginia Woolf! Subscribed! Seriously though, I enjoyed this! I do lots of tea staining myself too. So useful to get that older look! Though I haven't strained in awhile. It's rainy time where I live so mold is out of control and I can't risk it until the sun comes back out xD
Me eyeing the skull:That skull is so beautiful I wonder where did she get it.... I miss my old skull, I forgive you kitty for breaking it but it still hurts. 😭
if you do the candle in bottle one, remember to was your bottle probably, as alkohol easily catches on fire. love your videos btw have a great evening!
such a beautiful video! thank you for all of the dark academia content. you really inspire my videos! I've been trying to incorporate dark/light academia vibes and I'm so happy the cult has spread to youtube
I'm dying to have this aesthetic but I cant because I have plenty of candles and too many cats 🙄 ps hope you do a video on where u shop for ur decos because I'm loving the 📚 💀 n 🦋!!
I can’t believe I haven’t seen you before, but so glad I’ve found you now! Definitely a new Sub from me. Beautiful work and peacefully satisfying to watch, thank you 🙏
I LOVE the soundtrack of this video 😍🙌🏻 is there a chance that you made a playlist? Or else, could you please let me know which songs they are? Thank You 😚
