Same! I was eating pizza the whole time with no issues. I was pre-vet in college. For fun I used to go to necropsy discussions (animal autopsies) on Friday nights. One time they had a horse's head. Another time I went to a slaughterhouse and then lunch right after. It takes a lot to phase me. This was nothing.
Your channel is alot better then other hoofguys'. 1. You dont have an annoying Intro 2. You talk while doing it what is great 3. The videotitels are correct. Thank you!
*hears Nate’s warning at the beginning* This is gonna be bloody, isn’t it? Edit: not as bad as I thought, decent area of separation though. It headed nicely though To anyone still curious about the hoof, it’s a lot like your fingernail, painless to trim unless you go too deep. Nate and other cow hoof timers are a lot like horse farriers, check for problems, trim excess and make sure everything is fine and deal with any problems.
Thank you for another informative video. Really like the progress of the trim over time. I believe this is my first time seeing a block removed. Please keep up the great work that you do for the cows. Also for keeping us city folk educated. 👍
I like the recheck and longer videos! Your knife work is always so nice to watch. Other trimmers go so fast and intensely, it's nice to see you taking your time to carefully evaluate the situation and take care not to nick soft tissue.
I dont know why but you are the only hoof centered yt channel that i actually really follow. It has to be your calm informative and not over the top personality. I will keep watching these trims! What a georgeus happy cow! Greets from germany. I wonder if people trim hoofs here too :D
I'm always so impressed by how patient and gentle you are! You're really take your time and make minute and medicine adjustments so the cow is as comfy as possible. Amazing work, as always!
Thanks again Nate! I love longer videos, and this is actually something I've suggested in the past, multiple trims per video, so I'm glad to see you are still experimenting with video styles! Edit: OMG, I've never seen a cow that big doing a happy dance! That's adorable!
Hope your back is feeling better. I know exactly what you are going through - have had some fusions on my spine. However, I still go to the gym, walk my dog, mow my lawn and clean my house. Healing foes take time. You and your family are in my prayers.
Love how calm ur cows are and how happy they are walking out.😊 others I've watched go ham rushing through n nipping so many areas causing bleeding that doesn't really stop n them saying it doesn't hurt them that much wiping it away as if it were mud. not to mention all while cow is mooing like crazy, kicking n trying to pull away the entire time.,
Thanks for showing the full healing and treatment process. On the 2 week recheck I saw dirt in the white line area. How do you know that it has not compacted into the white line and not causing more problems?
*I'm not sure what amazes me the most. The fact this popped in my recommendations for no appearent reason or the fact I watched it till the end. Fascinating*
Nate, I want to thank you for the work put into this post, it had me hand over mouth as this girls hoof looked so painful, with your skill and prayer I am always amazed at how well the girls heal......then I cried laughing as she literally gave the greatest compliment and thanks by skipping and jumping.....🎉 Beautiful to behold and just joyous. Thank you and always know you are appreciated by the girls and by your members👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🐮🐂🐮🐂🐮🐂🐮🐂🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮💝🏆🥇🏅🎖️
I’m so glad I accidentally found your channel tonight! I’m a lifelong Wisconsinite (Madison)! Not a farm girl but definitely have it in my genes. I really enjoyed your videos I’ve watched tonight. You don’t talk too much or joke around with your assistants all the time or play music in the background. Your voice is very gentle and your explanations are understandable. You don’t expect everyone to know what you’re doing - like me. I’m a former nurse and enjoy watching you work. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us and being so gentle with your “clients”. Lol! I do have a question - what if a cow is lame in both claws? How do you help them relieve pressure? Blocks are useless so what’s the process for healing them both?
Thank you for always thinking of safety first. As I watch so many hoof trimmers not using the proper safety equipment, ie. face shields, gloves, ear protection I sometime wonder what they are thinking and how damagerish this job really is. Great video and outstanding job.
The superb knife skills of you wonderful hoof men absolutely amaze me. Perfect precision which is actually very soothing to watch for some reason. And I do love cows. Stayed at a friend’s mother’s dairy farm decades ago and as there were so many of us, two of us decided to sleep in the car. Woke up in the morning to a huge cow audience all gawking at us through the car windows. The seemed to be fascinated by us for some reason. It was hysterically funny and not at all frightening, just a bit bizarre. They are very curious animals 😂
