I've messed up a client before and i admitted it, fixed it and gave her a free service. She is still client 3yrs later! We are never too educated, too popular or too old to learn anything!! Great video!!!
I have NEVER had a hair stylist admit to making a mistake in my 50 years of life. Instead, they gaslight or pretend you asked for something other than what you clearly requested. I would remain soooo loyal to a stylist that was honest with me in that way. Girl, you’re gonna make me drive 5 1/2 hours to bring my daughter to you because I don’t want anyone touching her hair that I can’t trust. God sees your humility and honesty and He will surely continue to bless you for it.
Gaslight is exactly the word. Had a manicurist blame me for flooded cuticles because she claims I put my hand under the UV lamp at an angle. Ummm no. My hands went in as they always go in. Your application was sloppy and you used too much polish. Smh. Don’t get me started. The gaslight!!!
This channel's comment section has some of the most positive people. You don't see this much outside of ASMR communities, so you know this lady doing something (ok MANY things) right! You go girl! God bless💛
exactly !!!! her supporters r so positive which just makes me love her and her channel more 💗 it's too often that i'm going through yt comments and it's ppl spreading negativity and/or hating on other people just to uplift another ):
Ive been hairstylist 50 yrs. Up to date artist. Made every mistake at least once. Nowhere to hide. Wished for invisiblity. Learned how to fix and keep clients. Honesty is the best and clients will stay because they know you care. Way to go. Color looked just fine.😘
The fact that you could have not posted this video and we never would have known that you, "messed up", just speaks volumes. I'll continue to pray that one day you will correct my hair.
The stylist messed up and shared with us. She’s not perfect and it’s cool!! But we “me and @shae Williams” still want her to slay our hair!! 😂😂 and she didn’t have to show us but she did! 🥰
I'm from Nebraska and unfortunately they don't teach much about ethnic hair. So thanks to your videos you are teaching me how to do and work with my nieces hair! God Bless you, your abilities and your positivity 🙏
I WISH the "mistakes" on my hair resulted in a beautiful, bouncy, colorful cut. I got the stylists who would be like "TA-DAaaaa!" and spin me around to an overprocessed relaxer mullet or some other horror. 😭
Kee you are helping so many stylists learn and grow. I know you were disappointed, but what a valuable lesson to share with others. Thank you for sharing your experiences with the world. You bless us with your gentle spirit. 🍎
Honestly, you genuinely analyzed your mistake and completely recognized it, that removes like 90% of the blame. Plus it wasn't that big of a mistake and the final result is bomb. Kudos to you from a curly girl in Paris!
Over here, appreciating the sheer integrity of this woman. Her professionalism, the care she shows her clients, the education she provides… amazing 😍😍💐💐
I’m from the Deep South, Georgia! We love our peaches but I live in the “sweet onion” capital, Vidalia!! I love your videos. I’m an elderly lady and did not realize how much you have to care for your hair. You are amazing and may I say just beautiful!!
I love an honest stylist. Don't mess up my head just because I asked you to. ONE of us needs to know what's going on and I'm not the professional here lol! If it's a bad idea - tell me no!
I just came across your channel a couple days ago. I love how you truly care about the health of your clients hair. I’ve been natural for 8 years but too scared to trust a beautician to do my hair. I would let you color and straighten my hair any day! From Louisville, Kentucky!! 🐴🌹
If this color is messed up, then what would you call it when a stylist colored my hair and it began to fall out??? This is not messed up at all! It is so beautiful!
Wow! I've always wondered what happens when this situation, inevitably, arises. I went to school for hair as well and only finished half my hours. Now, over 10 years later, I wanna go back but I am discouraged by fear of screwing up badly. I would hate the confrontation of this. I'm so impressed by you though and I am saving this video to watch later. You must have left a positive mark of some type on her, as she came back to you. Very very impressive and I love the humility. God bless you for showing the downsides of hair dressing!
I love that you are a hair dresser that can admit when you mess up. And that's the best. That way you stay learning. Most hairdressers can never do this. It says alot about your character.
I love all your videos. My daughter tried to book with you when she wanted the big chop but, of course, you were all booked up. (So much talent in those God Blessed hands) I’m just so glad you’re repping our home town! Stay blessed Queen 🙏🏽. 🙌🏽🔔 or 🌆 of 👨🏽🤝👨🏾 ❤️ 😉
It is so great to see an honest professional admitting she made a mistake. Recently a hairstylist messed up my hair and she didn't even notice. I was growing my hair and asked for a trim, but in a way that would be shorter in the front and longer in the back. She cut my hair short! I was so mad, I spent hours angry with her. In the end, I decided to let her a message saying what she did wrong and she apologized. Luckily the hair is growing back and soon I will have it just as I wanted. Curly hair takes longer to grow. From Brazil with love.
@Rejane Florinda over the course of the last 4 years I finally got mine to butt length. Decided to get a professional "trim" - even clicked on the trim in the scheduler. Shampoo & blow dry went well, but when I felt her hands on my back I thought maybe she was just untangling as she straightened it because I was sitting up so she could see everything. She finished up & I was BSL!! I couldn't really see because the shop was dim (note to self) but when I got to the car in the daylight, saw it was CUT!! I almost cried (Ok I did later) but really was more angry. All those years of hard work & struggling to get it there, gone in the length of an appointment. When I let her know about it she assured me that she only trimmed off the dead ends. Whaaat?? My hair is fine textured but I could NOT see my hand under my hair so I know it wasn't dead, straggly, broken, etc. I will NEVER go back to a stylist for a trim, I'll just keep doing them myself. If I wanted a cut, I would have asked for one! For all the people who just say "it'll grow back" & "it's just hair", yes - I know. I've shaved my head multiple timea in my 55 years but it is NOT easy to get it to that length, as a matter of fact, it was the first time ever! I applaud & follow this stylist because not only does she educate, she truly cares for her clients. 👏🏽👏🏽🥰
I am the only hairstylist in the salon I work at that does perms and there has definitely been a few times when I’ve told them I can’t perm their hair because they have bleach or relaxer in their hair and I am not risking my reputation to earn the salon a few extra dollars. It’s not worth it.
Like a recent bleaching or have bleached their hair in general? I can’t imagine someone not doing my hair just because I like to dye it🤣. If it’s a too soon type of thing that makes a lot of since though!
Wow after reading through some of these comments it's official...Kee, you are now an INTERNATIONAL rock star stylist! 🤩 Wishing you much love and blessings from Illinois.
I’m liking this video mostly because I love the approach to messing up 😂 For any **newer** stylist out there reading this: Generally when you know your cutting you can roughly cut the excess length before mixing color so you save on all the color lost by the cut. Then just make sure to clean up the style of the cut once you wash and dry to avoid over processing the hair (double wash/dry)
Well if this is a mistake, that's one beautiful mistake. Integrity and character opens more doors than skill alone ever will. You're an amazing stylist.
I would love a video on how to get your hair straight and tips to keep it straight during humidity. Thank you so much for taking suggestions. I love your work and your personality ❤❤🥰 the best stylist on RU-vid
Yes please do a video on how to blow dry straight. Preferably on yourself but if it’s the same process then that’s fine. I like to blow out my hair when I do my own protective styles bc it’s just easier when doing my own hair
You did a fantastic job with the cut and color! Although you ended up cutting a good chunk of the color out, it still came out so vibrant and pretty. Reminds me of fall to be honest! And that short bob really suits her, it's so so so lovely with her youthful face.
I had to switch to a new salon recently because the old one kept making mistakes with my colour and cuts and insisting it was what I asked for. When I went to the new salon, we had a bit of a communication failure on the first day that lead to my highlights being the wrong colour - when I said that wasn't what I wanted, they apologized and immediately fixed it before giving me a bomb haircut, and they didn't charge for the recolour. That's the kind of honesty and humility I want to see in people, especially working artists. Mistakes happen, they don't make you less of an artist or a professional, but how you address those mistakes will account for both. Thank you for your honesty to your clients and to your audience. You're exceptionally talented at your craft, and I hope this didn't make you lose faith for too long! Much love from Ireland x
Keeping the color away from the root is incredibly clever. I never even knew about how the heat from the head would make the chemicals act different but also once her natural hair color starts showing again it will just look the same as in day one making the style last for much longer.
From Utah, I just love watching you do hair. I think you do a great job on all the hair you do. And I like how you explain things. You keep your customers informed
You are a black beautiful queen and I love that you always put other people products out there if we had more sisters like you I'm always looking out for other people as well we need to uplift one another and stop turning one another down
I’m from Canada! 🍁 (I feel like I’m not really supposed to be here but I have learned so much about hair from your channel! So much respect for all the effort your beautiful clients put into their natural hair!!) 💕
If you’re not supposed to be here, then this 🇩🇪 isn’t either! Not even same continent . . . Also how sad would the world be if we only learnt about ourselves? I literally make it my mission to be able to tackle all hair types. (Hairdressers are usually only taught standard European techniques over here. Nothing with texture. And tbh I’ve learnt a lot about my own curls too. 🙂)
I am from Germany and i just love watching your videos. Your content is always informative, respectful and professional. It is always fun to watch you transform your clients hair, one can really learn a lot from you.😊
I always ask about length before I color, that way I can do a rough cut if need be. One of my fav teachers in beauty school taught me that. Thank you Ms Sherri!
Her hair is beautiful. I love watching you transform people to their true beauty. Im from Baltimore City. I wish you were here. Take care. You are amazing😁
Well, someone messed up my hair twice in a row and I still had to pay for everything and it’s still not right/what I wanted..and orangy toned at the bottom. She also didn’t use foil and she started on the roots. She owns the salon.. 🙄
@@Marley-18. Exactly! She still didn’t fix it and I’m now light orange with purply-pink roots 🙄 A color specialist is going to look at my hair the 19th so hopefully that will do something but I’m never going to walk in there again
“It’s cool, it’s cool, it’s cool” 😂 Trying to make herself feel better...so sweet! Her hair looks amazing! Just another reason to visit you again soon!
As a fellow cosmetologist and a color specialist I applaud you for realizing your mistakes. I hear so much from service guests about how their stylists don’t take accountability. A little tip for the money piece is you can still use 20vl and just do it first. Also use smaller sections and more foils in the tip to achieve more lift while having more control over the amount of lift and keeping the integrity of the hair intact. If you haven’t tried it yet, guy tang mydenity is amazing for fun colors are amazing and long lasting
Went to a hairdresser for colour and she told be No too, instead she helps me restore my hair so it can take a colour, without breaking or washing it all out in a few weeks
I would trust you with my life because of your honesty. Although I am not in your state, I pray that your business continues to flourish ma’am. You admitting when you messed up, and being honest in telling clients no because your hair isn’t healthy goes a long way. Bless you!!!!
Hello, I am from Ghana. I started watching your video from last year and I have never stopped since. You are a true definition of beauty, grace, class and humility. I simply can't get enough of you. Thank you very much for sharing with me and the rest of the world what you're passionate about. Love you, big sis!
Girl I read your title and instantly said, LIES... Kee ain't messed up no hair! But when you explained, I still need didn't see no mess up. Girl that hair is gorgeous 😍
Hello, I live here in Germany. I love your videos because you always get to the point without a lot of unnecessary talking which no one wants to hear. You also give very interesting and good points of how to take care of one's hair. Thank you very much.
Poor thing😂😂😂😂. She still looks wonderful but you as a perfectionist sounded in actual pain🥲. Don’t beat yourself up. And cuddoos for being straight with everyone. I said it before and am gonna say it again: people should follow your example. Be honest without being rude!! Thanks for brightening up RU-vid. Loyal subscriber from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
I watch from South Africa. One of my friends with 4c hair wishes we had someone like you here closer to do the magic you do with her hair. Honestly your videos are great and I love your positivity about all hair that you do!
I love this video so much. Communication is a two way channel so it helps clients to hear this too so they know to be clear up front. And no matter what, mistakes happen and it’s so refreshing to see someone honest about it. It still looks beautiful no matter! No harm, no foul.
@@MutetheCity ik lots of young women in gen z who wear side parts, you do you i don’t think it’s gen z saying that but probably just a few people cause majority of the time when i see them with natural hair it’s in a side part. now if it’s straight or wavy short hair with the ends bumped and a side part i’ve definitely seen some cases with other stylists where its aged the client ngl💀
*cough cough*...not me having set money aside (cause I'm a college student) to purchase the 22TiTana Flat irons and never being able to catch them before they sale out😩😂😂.
Can I just say the photoshoot that you and your team was everything! y'all looked so regal and beautiful and the fact that you all have together since the shop was born without it being a revolving door (as salons usually are) just speaks volumes congratulations to you and the other beautiful queens 💜
I'm from Australia! I love your channel and your energy! I don't know why but I find your videos so soothing and satisfying to watch. I wish my hairstylist was as understanding and caring as you are. If I had 3a to 4c and lived in the US, I would love for you to do my hair.
Hi from Greece, i just want to say that you are a Master in what you do!! i love your way to save people's hair😀😃👍👌👩you give it a healthy and elegant result!! and yes, you go deeper than hair, especially with your intro messages!
