You misspelled career @10:42 for Nolan Ryan's no hitter count. Don't overthink the little things dude, youre one of the best baseball content creators on this platform. Just keep doing your thing
I’m now going to comb through every second of every video to spell check you and double check your stat claims. Just playing. Love the content, keep it up man! Also, I love the Dodgers, so it was a pleasant surprise to see that we had the best draft year of all time!
The ability to hold yourself accountable is rare, and something to be applauded. You have a great channel here, and your desire to only give good info really shows. Keep it up.
Ive always thought the best indication of credibility is being diligent about corrections. No one is right 100% of the time, so if someone has never issued a correction, they are just not owning up to their mistakes. And it makes it hard to trust them.
Dude, the fact that you took the time out to clean up some of your old work and admit that you made a couple of errors shows how much you love your channel and the people who watch it. Kudos.
Awesome credibility. You don’t even need to justify some of those mistakes but we all thank you for being an amazing creator. I hope to enjoy your content for years to come. Thanks!
It’s beyond noble of you to even make this video, but your content is so enjoyable I’d say 99% of people would never care or notice these small mistakes .
I give you props for addressing the mispronunciations. There's another baseball youtuber out there who does a really bad job with names and seems to get one wrong in every video of his that I watch. I don't remember who that is, though. It's like they never consult BR on pronunciation, ever.
Don't sweat it man. With all the stats and players that are in your spreadsheets and videos, an oversight is bound to happen. And most of them are harmless.
You’re killing it dude. We applaud your time spent and love for the game. Matt Caine was pretty awful and I remember every time I watched him pitch the announcer team talking him up like he was a Cy Young contender. Lol
I don't care about the mispronunciation of names in baseball. Everyone, including the narrators, mispronounces the names of Juan Soto and Rafael Devers.
You would've messed up if you had been purposedly insincere to allign with a certain agenda or to prove a point or opinion that goes against evidence. Mistakes can happen - specially if you do all or most of the work on your own or sources are not that easy to find - and you being honest enough to point and correct them out says a lot. This is the video that made me subscribe.
Making this video says a lot about who you are as a content creator. I love your content already but my respect for you has skyrocketed from this video
When someone does a video like this it makes me trust them all the more. We all make mistakes, but admitting and correcting them is what separates someone you can trust from a liar. A liar never admits error.
I don't know if it does fit your needs but may utilize tools for web scrapping could aid you in the process of retrieving the data and centralizing it in the format you need. Besides that errors happen and that doesn't take away from the quality of your content, your accountability is a nice bonus. Cheers and happy holidays!
0:35 if you want help by having a python script that gets the info from baseball reference that would save quite a few hours. Also, I'm pretty sure the Bonds Career IBB is a career counting stat
Man, props to point out your mistakes- but maybe a whole video wasn't necessary...maybe a footnote on the videos? This is hard work you're doing and anyone who doesn't realize that and criticizes you- probably doesn't have anything going on for themselves.
Bro if you're not joking about the copy and paste into excel, hire someone or let your community write you a script or browser extension to convert that sites data into a csv automatically.
Love your content. That being said if I’m understanding you correctly, you’re wasting a lot of time on baseball reference. You can export the data as a CSV or excel workbook. Then just copy and paste it on top of its self. Also less room for error. I apologize if this is something you’re already doing but I heard what you were first saying and kept thinking “noooooo!”
Yes, but I haven't found a way to export all draft data... only one page at a time. With that being the case, copy and pasting goes faster than exporting each page.
3:00 well you weren't truly wrong: it was the best June 1st draft class ever 9:06 these aren't errors, you did all you could to get the correct info out but new info came out to change things, this happens in science all the time. 11:00 I think it has more to do with using the title "Most Unbreakable Records" than calling it "most unbreakable counting stats", to me 9 of the ones listed there are still "counting Stats" to me: Bonds MVPs, Ryans No-no's, Ripkins consecutive games played, Williams consecutive games on base, Knell's HBP, Taylors consecutive complete games, Bonds Int Walks, DiMaggio's Hit Streak, Wilson's RBI in a season; you just needed to better point out "we're measuring full seasons so things like *listed stats above* won't be considered, even if they are more unbreakable"
Why don't you create a sequence of video w/ audio to correct the error and splice it into the affected videos? And then upload the edited videos? You could cut this video up for those splice-ins.
Deleting and re-uploading on RU-vid gets really messy. Especially for the algorithm because people that have already seen the video will click on the notification and then immediately click off since they've already seen it, which basically makes a video dead in the water. If people aren't watching, on average, 50% of a video, it gets buried.
No offense intended, but I really feel uncomfortable presenting data that I didn't compile myself because I can't verify accuracy (plus I also enjoy compiling data). I considered reaching out on the best drafts and international amateurs video, but then realized that internal sticking point for me would mean I would double check it all myself and wouldn't even save any time.
At 2:40 you have misspelled "yankees". Not what you want to see from a channel like this. If misspellings are so easily missed, typos in numbers could easily be missed, messing up entire calculations. This puts your entire credibility up for debate at this point and it may be time to call it quits. Just kidding. Good videos keep it up
You shouldn't have took time Makinh a video to explain making mistakes we all human and need them to learn if they feel like they can do it better than you tell them do it
@Baseballsnotdead… I am planning on doing a video about the unique legalities of baseball arbitration. Want to collab? I don’t have anyway to message you but if you’re interested, DM me on Instagram or email me.
