So many other reactors' videos for this season were CONSTANTLY like, "Oh, poor Edwina!", never acknowledging that (1) Kate tried repeatedly to steer Edwina away from Anthony, (2) Kate tried repeatedly to tell Edwina what she was feeling, only to be interrupted or stopped by Edwina making declarations of her own, and (3) Kate was willing to sacrifice her own happiness with Anthony in order to let Edwina have the future she said she wanted. Thank you for being such a fierce Kate defender!
Totally agree with your comments. After that dinner fiasco Anthony wanted to call off the engagement but because Edwina told her she loved Anthony and that marrying him is all she wanted, what did she do, she pleaded with Anthony to marry Edwina. Then Anthony agreed to marry the women he didn’t love, because the woman he loved asked him to.

He shakes his head sadly when she says the “mere passion will fade because it must!” because he knows what he feels goes way beyond passion. But Kate is in such distress and crying and begging him to do this, he can’t say no.

The last time I saw it I was like "wait a second"...didn't kate first try to tell Edwina that Anthony wasn't gonna give her the love she deserves? and then at some point in episode 6 or 7, i kid you not, Edwina says something like "he's not gonna give me the love I deserve"....I was like SHE TOLD YOU THAT! YOU'RE THE ONE THAT INSISTED!
The scenes of Anthony crying when he finds out that Kate has woken up and the scene at the ball, where he plays with Kate, the little fingers, there got me, I was so emotional. ❤
yes please!! they're going to make one with the queen. But they should do another one of them and their dynamic in the relationship. Hopefully there will be a lot of them in season 3. They have to take advantage of this incredible chemistry and what they generate in the public.
My top 3 moments from this season: 1. *The 'last' dance.* The song choice is a genius move. Kate and Anthony came in to each other's life like a wrecking ball and wreck each other's walls down. And the part in the song "i will always love you" makes it so special knowing that they thought this was going to be their last dance together 😭 2. *Anthony's reaction when he found out Kate was awake.* I mean just look at how his fingers went white with how hard he pressed his fingers in relief to his forehead!!!And Violet finally addressing how Edmund's death affected Anthony and apologises for her absence. Arguably the most emotional scene in the show so far😢 3. *The country dance scene at their town hone.* Pure joy. Forgetting the problems and scandals and just letting go and having fun with family and friends. The way Anthony included Hyacinth and Gregory made my heart clench. *Honorable mentions:* Anthony and Gregory bonding moment. It hits harder knowing that Anthony is the closest thing to a father Gregory ever had 😭

Did you know that you have a male counterpart on RU-vid by the name of Brad Evans? He adores them just like you do with one caveat, he doesn’t give a rats ass about Edwina. I never laughed so hard, his reactions were just as good as yours. I really enjoyed episode 8.. some of the scenes that stood out for me were 1. That look on Anthony’s face when he was looking at the unconscious Kate, you can tell that he was thinking of his dad, he couldn’t take it and just walked out. (BTW I love his swagger). 2. How he broke down when his mom told him that Kate was awake. Violet and Mary apologizing to their children LONG OVERDUE. 3. That final dance when they thought it would be their last, they danced like no one else mattered. 4. When he told her that he loved her, he just wanted her to know that before she left for India. The look on his face when she said she loved him too, PRICELESS, and finally 6. When they came down to join their family for the pall mall game, loved the way they seem to only want to be in each other’s orbit, they way he seemed unable to not touch her, the way she ran her fingers through his hair, the way she paused, placed her finger on his lips before proceeding to kiss him again, the way he actually smiled while they were kissing, and the look on their faces before the scene fades away…. His smile was everything 💕💕💕
Jonathan and Simone sold Kanthony so hard. Now I cant help but wish to see more Kanthony being shamelessly and disgustingly in love in front of the family while also delving deeper into their mariage dynamics/possible conflicts in the next season (and maybe explore more on Kate's character like her trauma from her mother's death and why she hates storms) Also looking forward to see Kanthony heading the houshold. I'm on my knees for more scenes of them playing mom and pops to the younger Bridgertons 🙏

@@FullofLit Yes, the situation with Kanthony is so very different from the romantic leads in S1, even considering the Duke's actor not returning for the second season--simply plot-wise, for the characters, the viscount and viscountess are much more ripe for post-marriage domesticity plotlines in future. Anthony even pointed it out when he said Daphne was always going to marry out, whereas his choice of spouse would be brought INTO the Bridgerton household in a much more impactful way on the broader family dynamic. And I know folks have said some of the S2 plotlines have been a bit sketch with new characters introduced who kind of came and went and might not be back (Jack, certainly; and Theo, almost assuredly,) but the thing is that S1 and an orphaned only-child love interest whose actor wasn't coming back simply didn't have the opportunity for anyone to even write stuff for the Duke to be a part of sideplot shenanigans. I feel like with Kate as the new viscountess and Edwina and Mary remaining in London for another Season, going into S3 we have a much more generative starting-point for even making up new sideplots with some familiar characters.
A couple of things: Jonny Bailey has said that he personally relates to Gregory the most out of the Bridgerton siblings being that he’s the youngest of his siblings. He also pushed for that scene with Gregory to happen and I found it so wholesome since he and Hyacinth don’t get as much focus on the show. There’s a good chance that Polin will be the leading couple of the next season, being that it’s only renewed for 4 seasons so far and Shonda Rhimes said that they don’t intend to go in the order of the books. So I’m very curious where that’ll put Benedict next season if he’s not the leading male. They definitely did leave a lot of things to move forward with for next season, but thankfully Lady and Lord Bridgerton FINALLY got their happy ending and I cannot wait to see more of them post-marriage.
I’m expecting Polin next season but hoping they have Benedict meet the “girl in silver” at a ball some time that season to set things up for them in season 4. Bonus if they also set up the Marina situation towards the end so we get real build up with the letter-writing for Eloise too in case she gets S5.
The reason why I like season 2 more than season 1 and any other recent romance series out there is that everything is earned. First kiss, earned. First night spent together, earned. First I love you, earned. And by the end, everything felt so satisfying. I'm okay that we never got to see the wedding this season but I hope we get a short glimpse of their wedding next season. I'm imagining a scene where Kate and Anthony host their first ball as a couple and Kate is very anxious and nervous waiting for the guests to arrive. To calm her down, Anthony asks her to dance with him while there's still no people. And the dance they'll be dancing is similar to that of their wedding reception dance, and that's when the flashback starts. Hahahaha anyway, thank you for reactions! It has been a wonderful journey this season!

Honestly I prefer the show instead of the book for so many reasons(way too long of a list and I don’t want the die hard book fans coming after me just in case they see this 🤣) and also I feel like every bridgerton book I have read so far is about girl losing virginity and helping their husbands overcome their trauma. In the show Anthony learned to love himself and others from his mistakes/experiences after he met Kate instead of someone holding his hand to get through it. Also the stellar acting took the show to levels that no other romance drama has gone to. Also one thing that truly bothered me to see certain people say that Kate and Anthony’s romance was forced and that they didn’t have chemistry. I feel like there are only a certain type of people who say this that the show has gone too woke because they cannot picture a white man falling in love with a brown girl. 🤷♀️
That last dance was so good. Anthony thought it was the last time he'd ever be that close to her and damn anyone, even if they're being shunned mid dance, was going to ruin it for him.
I'm SO glad you showed the part at 3:36 with Anthony's reaction to finding out Kate was awake! The emotion Jonathan Bailey displayed at that moment was E-VER-Y-THING. So many other reactors totally skipped by that moment and didn't even show it/react to it, and I was like HOW? HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THAT?!

Kate and Anthony are heads of the household. They'll have a really important role in the future and I'm not sorry to say that I'll enjoy their sub-plot more that any of the other main couples 😁😁🥰🐝

Fck Emmy, that man deserves to win an Oscar and the presidency of a country for his portrayal of Anthony B in season 2. He owned that role. His voice, his looks, his intensity, his vulnerability, his stick stuck up his assiness, how he complimented Simone, I lived for every minute of it. It was refreshinggg. I have been an Anthony Stan when people hated him and to see his character growth is just so damn beautiful !! That moment with Gregory was so touching and I love that was Jonny idea . I am a huge Kate stan and it was beautiful seeing her character grow as well !!Jonny and Simione killed it this season give them an Emmy !!!! They made me laugh ,cry ,smile and more. When he panicked and u hear his heartbeat thinking he will lose Kate broke my heart . The moment he found out she was awake Jonny made me cry and he needs an Emmy . It was such a beautiful moment between violet and Anthony. That botched proposal reminded me of pride and prejudice broke my heart that he wasn’t ready to voice his full feelings . That moment with Kate and Mary was so beautiful. Give Simione an Emmy !! In so many movies/shows they typically make the step mother evil u can see how much they love one another and I loved that both Mary and violet took responsibility. That little 3/4 finger moment destroyed me and the dance the perfect song . Kanthony came in like a wrecking ball in one another lives and also destroyed me they own my heart!! I love that Kate and Anthony chose their happiness instead of being forced into it like the book. The amount of pressure and duty they felt and displayed the love they shared in front of the ton was beautiful and I love the queen just knew and smiled because she shared it with the king. The love confession was beautiful and I loved how much growth Anthony had and it was so beautiful. The epilogue I watch everyday it’s so beautiful seeing them so happy and I can’t wait to see them like that in season 3 being that married couple !!!!! I also want a spin-off of just them I want everything with them !! They are my ship I love them so much !!! SEASON 2 was far superior and I don’t think any couple can compare the chemistry was INSANE !! Thank u Jonny and Simione for being the perfect Anthony and Kathani !
First, you have no idea how many times I’ve checked to see if this was up. And now I am hiding in the bathroom at work because I had to watch it. A few things I gotta say because I feel like no one else understands: In the scene he says “it’s my fault” the music (I look it up in Spotify) it’s the same from when Kate runs into her room in the previous episode and the drums sync with the door closing, because she feels guilty and is closing up and goes for the rainy ride. When he says “it’s my fault” the drums play again and he is retrieving back into himself, closing up too. Other things I love: - the tulips - “do you want to stop?” “Just keep looking at me” = “I’ll stop” “Do not stop” Because she is worried about his reputation in the ton and he is worried about her “honor” because he respects her as a lady (as much as he wants her) Yet they both don’t care at that moment, because they didn’t know if they could be together. - when she tells him she loves him, he starts to speak almost surprised, like he was not expecting it. The man was telling her he loved her because she was leaving and might not see her again. -“I want a life that suits us both” vs his early wifey interviews making demands also show so much growth - Gregory and Anthony’s scene was so sweet and his mom hearing it is the best thing in the world. - Anthony and his mom scene and Kate and her mom’s scene are amazing Anyway, so many More but I can’t stop thinking about that. I rewatch the end when they are together to feel happy every time. (Sorry if I sound like a madwoman, this is all I have been able to think about since march 25th).

10:53 Same girl. Anthony has a special spot in my heart since s1 even when a lot of people despised him. I just cant help but root for him bc even when he's so far up his ass and make bad decisions, you know why he is the way that he is and in the end, he only has his family's best interest in mind despite how misguided it can be. Literally my fav character in Bridgerton 😭 This season despite its flaws, was amazing. I dont know how or if the next season can top this or even come close to this season. Kanthony sold Bridgerton so hard 🐝
kanthony forever!!!! I love that Simone and Jonny both came out immmediately and said we will be back for next season, that they want to see them all loved up and happy and being the head of the bridgerton family. Also, Nicola said she and luke fought for them to have Colin say what he does that it really needed to happen sooner rather than later for penelope to stop seeing him as this perfect guy, but i will say that its so much worse here than in the books because he's saying it to other members of the ton and not just his brothers. I wish she wouldve confronted him like she did in the book but oh well anyway loved your reaction, cried along with you while watching
We'll prob get to see Colin getting a wake up all from Penelope in later seasons. Penelope's helpless crushing is getting a bit too painful, she'll set it straight soon i hope 😭
@@anastasiagraham2418 yeah they did set up pen being on the outs from the bridgertons she’s closest obviously with Eloise and her not speaking but her also avoiding Colin and him being the himbo that he is not understanding why, I’m hoping she doesn’t write about it in whistledown and just leaves him confused about why she’s not talking to him until they finally have a big confrontation about it, but the show did leave her in a dark place so who knows

Enjoyed re-watching that with you. Yes, it was amazing to see how Anthony went from being "consumed by others' expectations of him" to saying "no one else matters" and from thinking he could woo any girl to saying "I will humble myself before you". Truly sweet....it was all worth the wait. It was brave and sensible of Kate to hold off until Anthony proposed the way he did - although she seemed to think he didn't love her....and vice versa. However, as someone else said he probably had an inkling when she did that eyebrow scrunch....(sigh). It was all so beautiful. Can't seem to get enough of these two. Brilliant brilliant acting by Jonathan and Simone! 👏👏👏

I am desperate for the moments Kate is falling for him, (not just the staring) like when he makes her laugh with hunting about that she can shoot him or with the 3/4 fingers. How she walks all confused like she is drunk after shooting with him. And when she is nodding, agreeing about not wanting another ball. The pall mall and mud of course. The wet shirt and bee thing sure haha. Love the final scenes. But I still want MORE moments🥰

The emotional development in this season hit me way harder than the whole sexual awakening of season 1. They really didn't glaze over anything with the struggles these two were faced with, and the payoff was astounding. Also, I loved your reactions 💜 No one I know watches this show, so seeing you lose your mind over it as much as I did was so very needed haha

I was so (im)patiently waiting for this finale review and it was everything I wanted 😭we had the exact same reactions to everything as per usual and god... the last 10 minutes, that epilogue, perfection. I need about 600 hours more. A couple of pure sweetness. I don't even watch a lot of romantic shows, but this second season of Bridgerton, with Kate and Anthony rocking the chemistry, the passion, the love, I got excited. It's the fiction couple of the year.
So I don't know how they did it but it's been a month and I am still rewatching Kanthony scenes, and in general I am still super obsessed. Like I don't get it. I don't think there has ever been a couple who has captured me so much. Simone and especially Johnny were phenomenal. There are two things I would like your take on: when do you think Kate realized she loved Anthony and why didn't Violet in Ep . 7 suggested to Anthony to just marry Kate. If you could address this in your analytical videos, it would be nice. In any case, thank you for your reactions, it's been a great journey.
Not to defend Violet then, but the problem was every one knew that Edwina was his fiancé and almost married her. It would be a huge scandal, only the queen saying she was the one that stopped the wedding sort of solved it. That’s my theory. I mean they said they were “as good as married” when engaged. I don’t know. I do think Violet wanted him to marry Kate, but I think she just could not figure out how to make it work and she was maybe feeling him out to see where he stood. They went thru hell, I am gonna rewatch the end scenes to feel happy again 😂

EDIT: However, if Kate and Anthony getting together was really such an unthinkable fate after the failed marriage then I kinda don't get Violet encouragement in Ep 8. Was she really just ready to have all family ruined for the happinnes of her son. They were rich.. so maybe she just thought "f*ck it". I really wish we had some commentary from creators.
I have rewatched S2 for like 10 times, and now I found your videos!! You said what I thought, and even more than that. EP8 is great. Every time I watched the conversation between Violet and Anthony, Mary and Kate, I cried. It seemed only Anthony and Kate understood each other on the world they carried on their shoulders until finally they got understood by their mothers. S2 is great. All the small details in the slow burn were driving me crazy, but at the same time made me so satisfied when it came to the end that a happily ever after for Kate and Anthony. Truly, we deserve more Kanthony moments!! And for sure, Jonathan Bailey needs an Emmy for his jaw, and Simone Ashley needs another for her eyebrow! They said many times in different interviews that both of them wanted so much to bring Kanthony to life. And they just nailed it. Love them both! At last, just thank you to have this journey shared.
The music was so, so beautiful in this season! I loved the ending music when the camera was moving around them, beautiful cinematography and music! I certainly hope that the next season is about Benedict!❤️🥺

My heart goes to penolope.. I feel like she's gone through so much trauma as an individual the bullying, lack of love from people who are supposed to love her unconditionally, her opinions never being heard, the loss of her father, unrequited love, no one seeing her, being the peoples last choice .. And in all honesty this breaks a person it does. And yes I feel what she did was wrong but I also feel Eloise was a bad friend just like she was she never really sat and let pen explain herself, really talk to her she only vented. So the blame can't be entirely on her. Coz to pen Lady whistledown was the one thing she had that was hers, the place she could vent and let out all her pain so I can understand why she did what she did. As for Colin he was to cold I don't know what he'll do as I feel pen is completely broken and loving someone will be hard
I'm not a fan of both Penelope and Eloise, I always felt like they deserved each other haha But regarding the S2 drama, I side with Eloise. She wasn't a super good friend but friendship requires two people. If Penelope was truly bothered, she would have said something or she would not have stayed friends with her, so it was consentual. Eloise never forced Penelope to bear her, Penelope did it willingly. Eloise, however, did not get to consent before LW spilt her tea to the masses. She didn't get a choice to reveal or not reveal *her* own secret. That crossed the line, imo. Some say Penelope did it to protect Eloise, but I call BS. She did it to protect herself. Otherwise, she would have told Eloise she was LW and gotten her permission to reveal her secret first. That being said, I hope this bad turn ends up being the starting point of Penelope's redeeming arc because I do want to ship her when her love story comes along. I'm all for plus-size representation!

I cried many times on this season more than i did on S1 . their conversation with their parents alone had me bawling like a child.This season really outdone the first. I cannot simply wait for s3 .
This episode have such great moments but the one that broke my heart was his reaction when he heard Kate was awake😭. Glad that Violet finally apologized to her son, this was long overdue and when the camera pans down to her holding her son’s hand in both of hers, well what can I say😂💕💕

I almost died thinking that Penelope's scene was the end, but no. What a relief! These final scenes for me were much better than a wedding. Beautiful music for the end with that kiss in front of his family. I will be attentive to your review of the series vs. book. Thank you very much.
I'm so freaking excited to see Kate as viscountess next season and how to integrates into the family. I found your thoughts on whether they're setting up Benedict to be the lead next season to be very interesting. I've been working on spec scripts for season 3 (basically professional fanfic for screenwriters) and I keep going back and forth on whether it'll be Colin or Benedict. I *was* thinking that they set up Colin a little bit better for season 3 because we ended season one with Anthony being like, "I won't marry for love" and obviously we see him eat his words in season 2 and now we end season 2 with Colin being like "I'll never marry Penelope" and I'm like are we gonna see him eat his words in season 3? Especially since Shonda Rhimes has said they're not necessarily going in book order, I'm like okay why say that *now* tho? On the other hand, I'd like a little more time for Colin and Penelope's relationship to develop and what you've said about where Benedict has ended up makes me wonder if I should just write spec scripts for both a S3 Benedict lead and a S3 Colin lead lol. We have quite the hiatus ahead of us, so I have time lmao 😂 I will say, I can't see them delaying Benedict's story any longer than season 4 if they do decide to switch things up on us. Colin and Penelope, they very well could drag out longer than that if they wanted to (pls god don't make me wait too long for them tho), but I don't think it makes sense to hold off on Benedict for several seasons. It'll be interesting to see how Penelope's comeback as Whistledown plays out as well. I'm hoping we'll get some more Kate and Eloise moments next season, I'd like to see Kate become a confidant of sorts to Eloise. I believe it'll also be Francesca's first season, so I'm interested to see how that shifts the dynamic, you know? Hopefully it'll take some of the heat off of Eloise at least for the first few episodes so she can deal with the fallout of the end of this season. I'm very very intrigued by how Eloise and Penelope's relationship will evolve from this because this is obviously not at all how that happened in the books. Okay, this has gotten too long lmao sorry. I shall stop rambling now, I'm just so excited to see where season 2 and I have so many thoughts and they needed an outlet lol
@@meskoulaikrame6988 Oh no, I meant the hiatus until they release the third season haha, the writing process for season 3 is definitely well underway at this point. Spec scripts are mostly meant to be writing samples to show you can match the style of another writers room ☺ And I'm more so doing it as an exercise in writing spec scripts bc they're a good writing sample to have when applying to screenwriting fellowships and competitions. Not so much doing it to try to get into this particular writers room. It'd be very difficult to get my foot in that door haha 😅
I feel it cannot be colin , there is simply to much baggage with pen and eloise at the moment And for the same reasons probably not eloise. Though it cud be . Im guessing its Benedict But I really want it to be kathony again . Hope the writers hear the audience n give us what we want . A mini season . I desperately need to see more of this couple

Oh my godddd, I was literally thinking about your reactions and wondering if you'd uploaded this part yet and came here and it said uploaded 12 minutes ago and I freaked out! Dropped everything to watch ASAP. Season 2 was by far the BEST season of the show - the tension, the journey, the yearning, all of it was worth it in the end. I just soooo wish we could've seen their wedding and some of the honeymoon as you said. I can't wait for season 3, I lowkey hope it's Benedicts but we also see Anthony & Kate more in that season because... duh, they're ADORABLE. Uuuugh this season was so GOOOOOD, I need season 3 asap. You saying at 3:41 that Jonathan Bailey deserves an emmy nomination for his acting is literally me. I've said this to almost everyone I've met that his acting this season was phenomenal. From his shifts in facial expression to him showing he's on the verge of tears when he found out she'd woken up😭❤ he deserves a nomination and all the praise without a doubt❤❤❤

Couple of points: My theory is that when Anthony saw Kate in white at the altar it was a flash forward to their actual wedding . Second: Kate did not give a direct answer when asked if she were going to India in the proposal scene, but only mentioned family's reactions. I feel this left Anthony an opening to do exactly what he did..

I cried the first time I saw this chapter (also in 3 I must say), and thanks to you and your reaction I have done it again. I have loved Anthony and Kate with my life for 12 years (Anthony is my favorite Regency era character), it has been a pleasure watching your videos and sharing pretty much all the feelings you have expressed for this couple and their story. And yes, Jonny and Simone have been the perfect Kanthony.

Love the commentary. When I first watched the episode, the moment I sobbed was actually when they danced to Wrecking Ball and everyone finally saw their love. I was a mess. I think subconsciously, I saw it was thr first time they expressed how they felt about each other in public in a moment where they believed they wouldn't see each other again. So, take your time and feel what you feel. The show had our emotions in a chokehold (and still do if you follow their social media). What a great season.
