Thanks for the review. I had the app since they first came on the scene but not much choices near me so deleted it like 5 months ago...might take another look. Curious if any of the workers gave you weird looks or acted like they didn't know about the app?
You should see what you get in the UK Too Good to Go orders. They're insane. One lady had in her box she got in her local grocery were: 2 x 8 pack boxes of Capri Sun, 6 pack box of Fever Tree tonic water, 2 packs of custard doughnuts, 6 packets of crisps. 2 packs of part-baked rolls. Tinned goods. A aluminium turkey tray, Christmas gift bags and oddly 2 unopened vinyl records. All of that was £3.09 which is $3.76.
10 seconds in and I'm already cracking up lmao. Tbh, the app can be a hit or miss depending on what you have around you. And things are still being added and improved. I've used this app before a while back and there weren't much to choose from. I did quickly check the app and looks like they added a lot more restaurants in my hood
@3:55 I know the menu labels it as such, but that is clearly NOT a calzone. What you got there is a stromboli. A calzone is like a big-ass empanada stuffed with cheese. A stromboli is a meat and cheese tube. I even doubled checked with google images to makes sure I wasn't completely insane. Is this a steamed hams type of regional thing!?
THere's no way is that first place with the one slice of pizza and calzone three times the value. This has been my experience with this app. You get stale food almost always at retail price. Same with the four bowls you got, it seems they missed the point that you are supposed to get three times the value. Seems like you arent for the most part.
Thank you so much for the video! I just found out about the app here a couple days ago but I'm a very skeptical person but I decided to look up RU-vid videos and I saw yours so I decided to give it a quick and I'm very surprised with what you got now it does suck that some places were closed but for the price that you paid to get the food you got from the places that were open is outstanding to me. I'll definitely give this a shot. Thank you.
I hope more options come to me soon. It’s all coffee shops and donut shops in Newport Coast, CA. I know it’s not urban like NY or LA, where there are more options- but hoping for more than just pastries to come soon
nice video! i notice you live in the boston area as well! im from everett and will be trying out this app tonight, going to pick up some brazilian food soon!
This is 2 years on, and the closed shop issue is solved but the vegan and vegetarian option isnt. The stores cannot see so I got a bag of raw chicken which i couldnt eat.
You said it wasn't for everyone, well not always true, I cant eat rice/pasta/noodles and yes sometimes I end up with it in my bag BUT I have dogs so its a win win
I would say the app is good for people who can barely afford food. Why? The options are Slim and a lot of establishments only choose the food that is getting old. Even a little profit on something that no customer would normally buy is better than none cuz they threw it away. Just like most of the heavily discounted stuff at the grocery store is all going bad
I tried it and while you get some decent food, i honestly don't think it's worth. i'd rather buy a $5 aldi cake than get like.. two graduation sugar cookies and some random stuff i don't care for 6.99 xD the bakery ones seem completely "meh" for the value .
