Wasn't sure it would look right when you first explained this idea but looks great Rick hope this makes things easier on you guys as well. Also can't wait for more whatnot shows that's awesome and a glsmart way to get rid of over stock.
Over the years I have got stuff at Gamestop. I remember when they had a big bin of used SNES's for $20. I bought one and some games for cheap. I already had one, but I wanted an extra one. I went back a month later to get one for my God son. And they were gone. The employee said the didn't carry them any more. I asked what the did with all the old ones and the games. They threw them in the dumpster! That same a year or two later with N64's. I bet the are kicking themselves now. I still like my youngest (now almost 16) to play the old consoles that aren't all online and crap, so I am always looking for a new game now and then.
I just looked up where you located. Wow in Arkansas?! I'm in west Texas. For some reason I thought you were in Pennsylvania. I've been subbed way before you had your store. Love the channel. Now I can plan a trip to Akansas.
Like 6 years ago gamestop was paying basically eBay asking prices for retro games and systems it was awesome. They never tested anything. They'd just look em up in their system and pay you. But after about a year they realized how much they were paying and were offering like a third of what they use to. But still never tested anything. I remember wired GameCube controllers being big money and weird things like rumble packs and expansion pack real good too
does the store ship? i was planning to fly out there in a few month coming from hawaii so im just wondering if the store ships. keep up the great vids!
I love these channels now. I've obviously been following the original channel since like 3000 subs but between this one and Double Jump Games channel, its really cool to see what goes into the daily life of a store owner.
I would like to know how you are able to order retro games from GameStop? Every time I look there is nothing available especially when there is a buy two get one free sale.
Hey Rick, I love the channel do you ever plan on having a store website like Double Jump videogames to have a larger outreach or is that something you are not looking at doing?
Would also like a website. Would be a huge undertaking updating that thing on the daily with all those trades and such coming in. I don't know how they do it. Good question though
Rick you guys gotta upgrade your camera setup. The quality is like 25fps recorded with an iphone 5. Your store would shine so much more to your viewers if you just got a nice go pro or DJI camera. Small, light, stable and clear.
I've been a customer of GameStop since it was Electronics Boutique and in the past 2 weeks I've been shipped 2 used copies when I specifically purchased New! I expect "factory sealed" literally the day after Cyberpunk 2077 ultimate edition released I ordered and every time I call they swear they'll do their utmost to fix the situation but they keep dicking me around....
I ordered some as well. Its hit or miss, mostly miss. my copy of legend of dragoon came in a single dvd style movies case with the 4 discs in paper sleeves, and the discs looked like they were resurfaced with one of those old hand crank ones (skip dr.), was hazy and nasty. Pikmin came in a trashed case with liquid damage on the insert. They got returned. Wont be buying online from gamestop again.
GameStop has somehow always sold the worst condition games lol. Even in the era of all these games with hard plastic cases, they seem to have a big inventory of disc only games. I've never really liked GS
The gamestop by me wouldn't even buy a starwars 360 with box I have I bought when it came out was $475 they told me they don't buy old games and systems anymore here in michigan
But are those gamestop games correct. It's not hard to put a madden motherboard inside of a banjo kazooi. I think this is happening more with the rarer expensive games.
Retro Rick I need your advice. When I met my Wife I had just gave up gaming I just wanted to focus on my work and finding a relationship that was meaningful and someone who enjoyed and believed in God and where Church was important. After 2 almost 3 years of not gaming on an actual console. I decided to go back to gaming. I was split between the intense state of the art graphics and performance like a PS5 or XBOX SERIES X. I decided against that because my ADHD mind would be hooked chaos going in the house and I’m focused on my gaming. That’s why I gave it up to begin with before I met my Wife. I was like nope time to grow up I’m done. But that child inside of me like wanting to come out and just have fun again. But not to much fun I couldn’t just pause or even hit off in a blink of an eye to help with the kids or if my Wife needs help. The best option for me is the Nintendo Switch. It’s got the great graphics for Nintendo games like Kirby and Super Mario games or even Metroid. Games solely for the Nintendo brand. Other games you loose a little bit of that smooth glossy graphics. But getting back to what I was saying (ADHD took over) what I need advice on. Is when my Wife asks me, “How does playing video games better my life?” I don’t know how to answer that. I really don’t. Only answer I have is that it’s fun! It helps me relive some tension and stress in life working hard 12 hour rotating schedule (day shift) at work. It helps me relax let out some stress of paying bills and working overtime. Work at home is a necessity too. Dishes laundry making sure house is clean. Without forgetting to give plenty of love and affection to my children as well. So when my Wife asks me. “How does playing video games better my life?” You as a believer in God a dedicated Church and family man. How do I answer her?
GBA games and Pokémon DS games are what gets faked the most and what people usually have trouble with when buying from GameStop. I’ve gotten lucky with 2 authentic copies of SoulSilver from them over the years but haven’t purchased any GBA games from them
The aliexpress fakes are so good these days, unless you open up those carts and check the boards they may still be fake. I have a couple and side by side it's almost impossible to tell them apart from the outside. That's why you should always carry a gamebit driver when on the hunt ;)
ya kno i have trouble trusting when someone says a cartridge is real just by looking at the outside of the cart, plenty of people can buy a cheap cartridge and replace the inside with a fake board and change the label with a repro label and upsell it and someone would buy it not knowing its a fake then when that person is done playing they could end up selling it to gamestop and they would just buy it n resell thinking it real, me personally i'd have to open it up and check the board to see if its legit
i bought a salilor moon game from amazon and it was a reproduction then i put the American translation of the game on my 2023 charismas list and is it gonna be a reproduction? most likely yes sadly
