Great “episode”…the most important takeaway from this vlog is you did right by your dog. That was really touching man. Took that long road trip so he’d be more comfortable. That’s a real man. Well done brother
I think part of the reason Mariano can get away with these really aggro 3 and 4 bets preflop is he is more willing to empty the clip preflop than his opponents often. If you’re going to fight aggression with aggression you have to be willing to put in the 5 bet bluff and sometimes get it in with low equity.
Yep. If he felt Mariano was taking advantage of Klu’s mistake then the move would be to reraise. That would be the next level move. Lex isn’t there yet.
@@user-td7he4wm6yAnd what are you? You sound like you're just talking out of your ass! He's out there living the dream, the dream dream that we all want. And you are not. So stop saying nonsense 🙄 and learn! Learn from someone who's doing and living it like him! Enough said you fool.
If you thought Mariano was using the out of turn call to raise (in real time) why not just call the 3k when the pot odds were in your favor? In theory, you were only risking $2300 since the NIT game was on.
Not really. He bluffed raised in a lot of spots where scared money wouldn't raise. Can we see your vlogs then? Nope didn't think so cos you havent made any.
@@marksimpson2321 I agree with this to an extent, but players will often call the first barrel…. Against loose players you have to fire a coupla bullets often. His instincts were pretty good on most of the bluff spots he just needed to follow through a little more often.
Keep getting after it Alex. You are definitely my favorite vlogger and i look up to your uploads the most. Keep being real and doing what you’re doing man! Also, you got me good with the kings fake fold. I actually yelled at my screen lol. I know you ain’t scared money so that actually surprised me.
I love watching your vlog. You are so real and a very thoughtful player. I absolutely love that you drove all that way to Texas so that you could assure that Rogue would be okay. That shows what a big heart you have. We did a similar thing last year when American Airlines refused to let our little Oliver on the plane because he couldn’t stand up and turn around in his carrier. We went from Charlotte, NC to the Black Hills in South Dakota. It took us 5 days going and coming home. We were on the tail end of a tornado in Nashville on the way home. Our commitment to our little guy was well worth it. I wish you all the success. 🍀💯
It is really great how you prioritize and value the health and comfort of your dogs. That says a lot about your character. Whether you are up or down after a session of poker, Rogue will be there waiting for you to come back.
I can definitely relate to how you said you were putting too much pressure on yourself to win, and I liked your insight about how you can't control the cards and the lineup, etc. You're right that it's important not to force anything to happen if it's not meant to be. I've had similar experiences in my poker career. Keep calm and grind on!
Lex, he didn’t mean to act out of turn so I don’t see the point in saying “let’s make sure we act in turn…” twice. Then fling your cards in the air back to the dealer. Unnecessary drama man, just chill.
I don’t mind Lex saying once politely “let’s make sure we all act in turn”.. but to have the disdain/tilt in his voice, and to windmill his cards back to the dealer he comes off as a whiny, sore loser, b*tch.. yes people should act in turn, but mistakes happen, and lifetime poker is just one big session. Act with more grace knowing you’re a winning player overall.
I’m happy i waited!!! Hahaha i almost closed the RU-vid app on my phone when you said you folded the KK haha. Big supporter of yours wishing you all the best big dog.
In my opinion. Mariano puts pressure on the players with money. Therefore, sometimes he loses a lot, and sometimes he wins if he hits the flop. He did the same to you.
Never have I heard a player's name mentioned this much on a vlog, and this is at least the 2nd "Mariano envy" vlog from Lex. Not only is he under your skin, but he knows it and plays accordingly.
Love the dedication to your pup, bro. Have been a fan of the vlog since the beginning. Felt the need to finally comment after hearing the Rouge story. Good luck
Same here. I’m not generally one to comment but the well being of animals hits me in my feels man. He did the right thing and hopefully the poker gods will reward him!
You played the Kings perfectly! And I fall into a bad mindset sometimes. All I can say is ONLY YOU CAN CHOOSE HOW YOU REACT TO ANY GIVEN SITUATION OR FEELING!
Hey @lexopoker if you ever want to play at Hard Rock, Tampa... I live on the way for you.. near Tampa. I have two friendly dogs, a fenced yard and a nice house. We would be happy to watch Rogue for you. Thanks.
Yes, I'm sure he would love to leave his dog with some rando off the internet. No offense, I'm sure you're likely a fine person, but I don't think he would take the chance.
Maybe but nearly everyone in the world would be a fish in this game. He won $3000 + without getting great hands and he bluffed and got reraised bluffed a lot. Always funny to listen to keyboard warriors who couldn't beat 0.01/0.02 on acr 😂
Great SHOT take! And Nice job merging your 3-bet flop frequency ranges with underpairs on boards where your opponents ranges are capped especially on Ace boards...now that's a next level play...especially against OMCs with low VPIPs and high fold equities. And don't fret, I doubt the great Mariano himself knows what his small blind calling range to 4-bets are either
Love the content lex, it’s hard when you play these bigger games and money is valuable to you unlike some of these people. Keep pushing the limits your a good dude
I like his vlogs but that's definitely the case. I'd rather see him play 5/10 than something he can't afford. You see him lose post he should win and you get that Rampage gonna be homeless type vibe if he loses.
Mariano Im sure knows he has an edge of you especially being a fellow poker RU-vidr thats a tighter player that not only plays to win money but for content. You need to definitely get some more bluffs off on him and 5 bet more especially after the Q2 hand is like a never ending rerun playing in your head.
The things we do for our pups!!! Your mouth vomit (not meant disrespectfully) at the end of this video is such great advice for yourself and so many of us. What we went thru earlier in the day or week so often lingers in the shadows. I always make better decisions when I have a blank slate emotionally. I think that is true for most of us. Great wrap up to video!!!
It's just a "behind the scenes" personal diatribe about what is involved in getting to the game in the life of a poker player. It's easy enough to move on to whatever floats your boat vs taking the time to leave a neg head comment. Nice enough for Lex O to share his content at the table and every once in a while shows down a little content on his hobbies, interests, and goings on. Well rounded vlog and interesting to know about where he's mentally since staying "fresh and fed" is one of the cardinal guidelines of being at the top of your game.
Great vlog, Lex. I think your read on the Mariano 43h hand was correct: Mariano did get some advantage, but there was nothing malevolent going on. Mariano just happened to be the beneficiary, this time.
It's easy to say why Mariano made the 5 bet after the fact when Lex is doing a voice over.. He could have made that same play with AQ,A5 suited or even a tricky played AK... I'm just saying Lex is saying that he thinks Mariano used that as info after the fact and I agree he did but what if He had AK or AQ or KQ do you think there would be as big of a deal made of it...I would be happy Mariano did it.. Lex basically only has 3 outs at best...Not knowing what others held for sure or the burn cards in a reg game..So even if an Ace didn't get burned he has 3 outs vs JJ not counting getting really lucky with Straights or flushes...
This video summed up my weekend trying 10 NL online - up 'n down like a yo-yo. Ran like a God on Saturday, and can't hit the flop to save my life on a Sunday. The swings really mess with your head.
You’ve become one of my favorite vloggers. I enjoy your aggressive play against Mariano but sometimes you just have to let the cards come to you. Keep up the good work.
The lengths we go to for our dogs. Love it. Have done some very similar things. Also push back in pots with aggressive players like Mariano. They can’t have it all the time and often don’t have it.
Hell, the add started right when u said, “ I decide to fold” in the KK hand. And I’m like oh crap! Then the video starts again and u said u guys got bluffed I’m never folding 😂😂
I noticed that you recorded the stream footage with your phone. Do you edit on your phone too? If not, there’s better ways to get a copy of the stream.
I kenneled our 2 frenchies when we went on vacation for 8 days once and when I came back they had infections and stomach viruses, never again.. And this was at a good place!!
You mentioned in the outtro you might stop at the Beau in Bilioxi on your tirip back to Florida. I've enjoyed your VLogs from the beginning, and it would have been great to meet you. I go to south Florida a couple of times a year, so maybe I can catch up with your sometime. --jazbo
hey lex, I usually don't comment but had to lol, I love your vlogs, your a straight abc player, you make a living at it. wish I could say the same, yes bigger stakes players are on a completely different level, you will get there. I hope its soon. keep up the good work
@@lexopoker Read through this entire comment section and honestly wonder if you were actually raided by bad actors. Remember, a lot of these people are barely 1/2 winners (if at all) who are living their poker "dreams" vicariously through watching spewy LAGs build stacks thinking that it is the dominant style. Continue being solid, and more than anything else, do not feel like you have to prove anything to anyone, when you play your game, you win at these stakes.
Those glasses are awesome Lex. Which ones are they ? I would really love to know the model. I would really appreciate it!!!! Always love watching your vids.
Lexo, next time consider Rover for your dogs, me and my wife board dogs as an additional income, you can find a lot of good sitters with great reviews, we get finnicky dogs all the time and then they don’t want to leave😂. Usually cheaper then those “dog hotels”
You'll know i watched till the end, and I'll be the friend to say it. And I'm a 💯 dog lover too - plz don't challenge that. But you gave up control on the way to Texas, and it showed, Lex Its not Rogue's fault, and I'm glad you're looking out for him - he needs ya. But ya did. Cool story about Moe too! Did you guys talk about wrestling?
The hand in which you had KQo vs QTs vs K3s you claimed you had both players “crushed” and “dominated” pre-flop. Meanwhile the equities were 45% to 28% to 27%. That is NOT “completely crushed”.
The way a poker teacher taught me about preflop hand equity is that every hand should be looked at like a piece of a pie - in a pie graph. You only get a piece of the pie. You’re going to get beat often.
It has nothing to do with you not being good there, it's generally if you have him covered or he has more. Do not fear the amount, make a choice, are you willing to take the risk or not.
If Klu thought Mariano had folded he should probably be flatting his entire continuing range there including AA and KK, so that shouldn’t have necessarily made his hand seem weaker
Lex you played just fine I was at the lodge last Saturday it was cool to see you back at the lodge wish I could be there this weekend but going to the beach with the family so keep up the good work
Lex, if you know Mariano is likely to use the out of turn info to put in a re-raise with garbage, then you should be able to just send it. You had the situation read perfectly and should be (and were) well ahead. He'd have folded in a second.
KLU playing out of turn did not seem like an accident especially since he plays at Hustler, and considering the large size stakes of this game. He’s not a casual player. He’s got JJ which is the bane of many players, and already saw Mariano in the hand. It is a BS move and unacceptable. KLU would’ve earned a spot on my list so that I could return the favor in a future similar situation. Table justice is in effect.
I see you stretching yourself. And I see you getting better. Good on ya. Keep up the videos. I hope we get to see Houston. (And more of the leggy brunette who kept walking around behind you.)
I watch Mariano's Vlog and I think he is great and keeps getting better the more he plays these bigger games. I do believe though lex, you were a bit nervous (hence the beer) and some of these players that are used to playing above your normal NL stakes (5/10, 10/20 etc) , can easily exploit weak , scared money players whenever they see fit. BUT I would be very suspicious about that hand! Is Mariano capable of squeezing with 45s (or whatever the hand was)? yes! The fact that it happened at that specific hand, against YOU, that is what has me suspicious. I do not believe it was an accidental call from the other player. I could be 100%wrong here but it would Tilt me as well if I am being honest.
