I also hope he watches this blog and reads through these comments. Rarely would I recommend anyone read the comments to see "you're not alone", and it's only been out a short while, but I'm hoping as Brad-fans, and having heard his clear call for restraint, they'll remain, to whatever degree, beneficial for him. Edit: a few seconds ago, this became necessary-DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT HAVE HIM READ THE COMMENTS.

Playing a bit above your comfort zone is one thing and can potentially be admired. If you’re folding pocket jacks to a single 3-bet pre flop, that heavily implies his appropriate stakes should be Facebook poker for funny money. So what he’s doing in this game is literally just lighting money on fire. If he doesn’t mind, good for him.

Regardless of the results, I think you honestly dominated this table by stepping up to the plate and applying pressure while being outside of your comfort zone and being stuck more than you ever had been, so congrats on that. One thing that you never talked about is having loads of people standing around the table sweating the action and talking behind you the whole time, as well as thousands tuned in on stream, which can be very nerve-wracking in itself, especially at these stakes. Keep crushing it Brad I am so happy to have been following you on this journey since early 2020, it's been so cool to watch and I'm looking forward to what's next!

@albertforletta1498
@albertforletta1498 2 года назад
I’m an amateur, and I only play amateurs. I was taught if you suspect a race against 2 overs , then you should consider chip management. A lot more chips than opponent make the call. Less chips then opponent fold. Even if your jacks are pretty, you will lose that race more times than you think. If you are 2% ahead in that race, those odds are for the LONG RUN. Playing poker 4 days a month will amount to you losing a lot of races. Chip management, and common sense is how I play poker. NOT how someone who plays every day, but someone who plays 1 day a week, and it works great for me. Nick laying down jacks was an awesome play.

I really don't enjoy playing on stream. I'm ok doing it at the Lodge since it helps our own room but I feel pressure to play in an entertaining way rather than how I enjoy playing - everyone has an incentive to do silly things making it more like a circus than a normal poker game. The stream from this vlog was the only one from monster meet up week that I didn't feel was like that since the amount of money everyone was risking was significant.

@Brad Owen What a great session! Watched it in Arizona tonight before I go to Vegas for the first time in my life! I turn 21 this week! And I cant wait for my first ever session at a real table! You're an inspiration for recreational poker players, and I wish you the best on down the road.

Two things I've learned in my 20+ years of playing: 1. There's always another game another day. As much as you may want to play every chance you get, it's just not worth doing if you don't feel up to playing 100%. 2. A comeback is always possible; don't squander your opportunities. So many players just give up and chuck the money in blind when things aren't going well. I once had a tournament where 10 minutes in I had just $15 in chips remaining of 3000 in a 2500 player tournament. I didn't give up and just re-buy like many would. I came back and 45 mins later had the chip lead; and finished 3rd. Don't ever give up!

Damn Brad, you're growing at a rapid rate. Almost half a million views on this vid and it's only been out two days! That's night and day compared to when I started watching your vids, much deserved!

In addition to your comments on Nick, I really just enjoyed just listening to your thought process on this game. You realized it was a tight table and responded accordingly -- stakes be damned.

Question for more experience players: I play online and home cash games but have never sat for a live casino game. What are some things I need to know about how the game is played,best practices, etc. to not look like a total noob?

WOW! Awesome. An excellent example of two lessons: 1) The terrifying dangers of taking a big stab WAY outside sensible bankrolling principles. Brad could easily have been out 80 grand in the blink of an eye -- surely more than he planned to risk. 2) Keeping your balls on is THE way to go when the pressure is on. The right play is the right play, no matter where you stand in the session.

Brad, you put out THE best poker vlog (or best vlog, period) because of how much you share. Goddam, I was sweating this one with you. Way to persevere, that’s some of your best play yet

Classy comments about Nick. My mindset is if I'm not getting bluffed off occasionally then I'm playing too many hands.

Amazing vlog brad I would love to see more of these! Thank you for inspiring me to play poker a few months ago. I started watching you and I didn’t even understand how poker worked but over time I figured it out and it is such a blast watching your vlogs. The only think I don’t like is that there isn’t a new vlog every second.

I have nothing bad to say about Nick especially since I’ve folded pocket jacks on more than one occasion. I think he played excellently & better than I ever could amongst professional poker players. I have to give you major props. For one reason on another, I thought you weren’t coming out that abysmal start at all. You made it out just $1000 down. That’s outstanding. Good work! I hope you gave yourself a monstrous pat on the back.

Brad. The Chinese gambler and Nick were your savior. Without them play scare, along with your tilt, you would be not having such an amazing comeback. Keep playing with these fish on the table and look out for hook.

Brad Owen, regardless of if you ever become one of the "best" with a stack of bracelets, know this... No matter what happens there you will go down in history as being one of the best people, period, and that is more important than any materialistic gains or any trophies you could ever win. You've won my support and admiration yet again. You win that every time you play.

I don't watch like I used to (got into other hobbies I watch videos on) but I love coming back and seeing how things are going. You're videos are always fun and your humor is great. It's crazy to see you in this game when I remember your first blogs at Red Rock playing 2-5. Keep it going brother and stay humble.

High stakes poker is so difficult. Tough spots become even tougher because the amounts are more substantial. I've got mad respect for anybody willing to take a seat at the table. Especially, if you're an amateur.
