Damn....you looked so drained both physically and spiritually. But you know what, this is why you are the best. Anyone can show VLOGs of big wins and small losses, but you are as real as it gets showing the best to worst days. My best takeaways from this is/ was your commentary. My favorite line was "My terrible day even terribler". We need to make that merchandise. 🤣. All joking aside, bottom line you can't beat luck. The set over set was a saving grace from another ripped loss. And one thing I've learned that KKs are literally the biggest Ace magnets ever. It's insane. I don't know if you have seen Lex O Poker's session with his little brother but he made the coolest shout out to you so definitely go check that out. It will lift your spirits. I can't wait to see you play in the WPT Championship. I'm super excited especially seeing how deep you've gotten in high main events (10k buy in +). Keep up the big push and that 30k will be a distant memory.

There's simply no difference losing 500 dollars in a 2/5 game and 20000+ in a huge game, except for scale. The size of game multiplies the upswings and downswings. It doesn't matter, it's part of the game. Your attitude in the video is commendable. And Doug calling out "you lost the stand up" was pure gold.
@aaron6806

Agreed, especially about Polk. Reminds me of a story I heard of a couple buddies/roommates playing together, and one got busted and was leaving. His buddy called out "hey! You forgot something" and tossed him the rubber band that had been around his cash. There's something brutal and yet uplifting about that story. This game isn't for the faint of heart.

When you aren't getting anything for a session or during multiple sessions, your brain starts to adjust and think "this is the best hand/spot I've gotten in X amount of time, so I have to defend/push/bluff this" when actually, the only real decision you've been presented with is lose some or lose more. If you're in this frame of mind and a player who doesn't bluff much decides to put it in, and you have some pretty-but-not-premium holding like top two pair, you will probably pay them off. There's also a dynamic where you gaslight yourself into thinking "how can they always have it" and you feel like, on some level, a 30k loss where you know you didn't get bluffed is not as bad as a 24k loss where you might have gotten bluffed at the end. When incremental losses start to feel small compared to the total loss, you're in trouble and you'll call out of curiosity or defiance. Even if the $6000 was "a lot" of money when you started the session. Of course it doesn't matter what a lot of money is to you or what happened last hand or last session, except in your head, which wants to jam events into a narrative, or a "feeling" in the "air." In reality, smart players (and this is a group of smart players) will adjust to people who are stuck/tilted/in pain by bluffing them less and calling them down lighter. So, if you are on tilt, you need to do the exact things you *don't* want to do: give up with bluffs and lose to third pairs, shove light for thin value hoping to get looked up by bluff-catchers, and fold all of your own bluff catchers facing aggression. If your villain is oblivious and bluffs too much to start with, yes, you can continue to call him down as normal. But be aware he may back off after you've lost a few buy-ins. What we're all afraid of and feeling like is happening is that normally tight opponents are going to start OVER bluffing us because we're "weak" when in actuality, no one is doing this, because it's counterintuitive, it's stupid (tilted players like to call) and that player would also have to start doing things like turning marginal made hands into bluffs, floating garbage to bluff you with later, auto-raising or auto-betting certain lines, and he would have to do this *in response* to you losing. Most players don't know how to widen their bluffing ranges in this way at all! Let alone "pick on" a tilted player. The way they will pick on you, if that is their intention, is to make BIG, unbalanced, FAST bets, often in lines that don't make sense, but they still somehow have value. So exploit them by folding to these bets.

Hey Brad you took this very well and are a role model to many. I hesitate to say this next part for many reasons but if I may offer a piece of advice when it comes to being "in the moment". when you run bad it is essential to not let negative emotions envelope you. Doubt is powerful. this is why "when it rains it pours" is a common saying, if you catch my drift. it's difficult to explain and more so to understand, but this will become widely known in our world within the next 2 years. it is not science fiction. simple as I can put it is this- you cannot *worry* about outcomes when you are in this vibrational state (where things are already going "bad"). if you worry about outcomes in this vibrational state, the outcome you worry for will manifest. this will soon be known as science fact, not fiction.

Hey bro, long time watcher, yet first time to comment. I’ve seen that stream live just after having a similar game to yours the day before. Seeing this now with your comments makes it so relatable. As you i kept getting bad beats and tripled my worst loss. Obviously that came with thoughts of quitting but your videos and watching you handle this kind of loss and others before keeps me faithful that i can actually get through this slump.. hope you’ll get back on the horse of rungood. The scales will balance us both back. Much love bro, peace and gl ☘️

Doug both yelling out to you that you lost the stand up game AND covering you, is why I like him. And you. You're a good guy, Brad. Keep at it. Everything is temporary, but death.

really bad for Brad but a great lesson for anyone else learning poker, this WILL happen to you too if you play a lot of poker, eventually, its only a matter of time...recognize it and try to get away before you lose the max...

I can totally commiserate. Sometimes you sit at the table when you know you shouldn't. Hotel room not ready, you were not in the right frame of mind. I have pushed myself at tables when I wasn't enjoying the company and got killed. I try to force myself now to say it's not right moment and walk out. Easier said than done when you traveled across the country but getting burned repeatedly has opened my eyes. Thanks for the continual content.

Hey Brad, I've been your fan for about 6 years now. Coincidentally we both ran bad gambling and it's really humbling how humans have wins and loses. You handled it like a champ and good luck with winning again

I don't think I'd have your grace and endurance under such absolute brutally bad luck. I'm both impressed with and feel awful for you at the same time. Your patience there was f'n legendary.

I don't know if you've ever played 'Contract Bridge', but it is a wonderful 'time-out' for my poker addiction, and since Bridge is its own addiction as well! :) However, not as much 'analysis' in Bridge, and it is so easy to say/count which cards remain to endanger your bid. Heck, even a round on the Blackjack table can realign the 'odds' for you, or look into buying a couple of Sugar or Coffee futures for some real 'analysis' of the weather...:) Never mind, and just stick with poker and don't chase that ego-dragon. You're a winner even when losing, Brad :)
