Protip: most large animals like dromaderies, muffalos, horses, bisons and donkeys will produce more nutrition are nutrient positive if fed nutrient paste and slaughtered as adult. While producing nutriant paste requires micromanagement, which is annoying, they are a great way to produce unlimited food and textile in a more reliable and less labor intensive way than hydroponics. If you have the Royalty DLC, then your kill box is a good place to put your animal pen. If a raid gets a bit too intense, you can retreat your colonists and cast Manhunter Pulse on your own pen animals so your enemies get mauled down. If you can get your hands on a kill-focused persona weapons, then slaughtering an animal will give your psycaster 20 psyfocus which is great for spamming word of inspiration, word of trust and word of love.
@@blakeryan7894 If you put a prisoner on a nutrient paste only diet and if you double their prison safe as an animal pen, then you can automate nutrient paste production for your animals without mod. When your warden delivers nutrient paste for your prisoner, animals may eat it first, which means your warden will have to deliver another one, and so on until your prisoner manages to get their hand on it first.
The editing on this was top notch. Good job. Nice choices for background music. Made me realize how well the Terran music fits the sci-fi Western aesthetic. Which, uh, shouldn't have been surprising lol
I know you mostly do the short "So!" videos, which I do enjoy. It is a great addition to see these longer challenge type video's, every so often. Thank you.
It's ok to say swastika. It's originally an ancient Buddhist symbol that Hitler took and rotated it a little to make it his own. The original symbol can still be seen today in east Asia on road signs for directions to Buddhist temples and in the temples themselves.
Pro tip for day 94 27:44 You should of sacrificed that colonist to wake the mechanoids up, so that the manhunting panthers would of went to attack the mechanoids since manhunters consider mechanoids as man I guess and will try to kill them as will the manhunters
"So I know I was beating the crap out of you while you were trying to perform surgery, but why don't we hook up?" Real smooth Albert, O_O surprised Silver agreed.
I was super confused how every single song you played in the background for the first 15 minutes were songs i actually owned in my favorite videogame n chill playlist i swore i forgot to turn it off only to find out you put them all in xD
can you explain the cooler thing? I'm not sure what benefit that weird anti-drop-raid box for the head exhaust adds over just having the exhaust pointed northwards - outside of your base...
My best guess is that a dedicated chimney room doesn't limit his expansion. If he were to expand the building north he would have to deconstruct the cooler putting the colony at risk.
Glad RU-vid recommended your channel, I'm loving these longer videos of yours. Your editing and narration is boss. = ) Have you ever looked into the custom scenarios? It's fun to get creative, and easy to make runs extremely unique, by combining a few simple tweaks. As an example I once ran a scenario called The Prussian Soup Run but combined it with the Lovecraft Modpack. It was a lot of fun to have the starting WWI soldiers need to move their camp to another tile and clear an ancient danger, completing my contrived win condition, by escaping the same mysterious way the scenario had brought them into that brutal supernatural RimWorld. I intentionally didn't study what I was up against and got wiped a lot, but it's just one example of what I'm suggesting. Cheers!
Nice video mate. Live the game play and hardship your colony went through. As an idea for a short video can you do void keys? Love how they bring colonists back if no body is recovered or destroyed if by missiles. Can't wait for you next videos mate!
It was so the heat could go somewhere that wasn't exposed to an outer wall, which makes it a weak point for attacks. The barricade prevents drop pods landing in there.
Honestly when i tried the extreme heat one i only survived because of mods that let me plant on rivers and fish. And it made me try hard for the first time in this game. Unfortunately randy hits hard when i got raided by 10 tribals with stick bombs and i only have 2 effective shooters in their limited ammo. Oh and i chose random and landed on rainforest with only cobras as companion and hasn't tamed them yet (for food and security)
With Harvest Everything, Less Arbitrary Surgery and Death Rattle mods, you can build a veritable ORGANization. It's amazing what a few human body parts will buy. So easy and profitable, that only my psycho or android colonies are allowed to use this strategy. Same with psychoid or smokeleaf plantations.
how do you pick which items you will bring with you when doing these rimworld challenges? for instance, in another video you brought like 2k steel, come silver, 40 medicine. etc. this one you brought something different. what dictates what you will bring? or do you somehow randomize it? how so?
oh thats probably what that is then, starting scenarios. since im on vanilla, i probably wont be getting the same starting scenario options. the only one that i can find thats closest to what you have had is the rich tribe one. @@veequeue
What song is used at 31:00 specifically? I remember it and I love the song but I can't remember where it's from for the life of me and the music links are all giant music comp videos
Why´d he sound so surprised when he saw that it was 28c Temperature early morning? As of watching this rn its 9:46 am and its 28c where I live... pretty common haha
Hi Veequeue ! New player here, and new subscriber here too ! I was wondering how do you "red cross" constructions for your peon not to build it right away ? like in 00:01:28 ? Thanks !
Thing is that extreme desert can often become too hot for plants to grow at their normal pace, if at all, so the nutrifungus can at least be kept in a temperature controlled environment
@@petloverspy i know, but in those growboxes temperature was same as the outdoor. There weren't any coolers. Removing roof woudn't cause any difference in temperature matter, i think.
@@krzkam7792 because plants don't grow in 60C+ heat?? the temperature appeared to be the same because no hot air was getting in, while only cold air from the neighboring refrigerated rooms was
No idea, i thought itd be the classic Rimworld where you dont start with everything researched and all the parts. Lost my intrest after he started to build all this advanced stuff
