You know what my favorite part about the story campaign is? Once you beat Grizz and go back to the salmon run lobby, the radio is no longer a bear chewing a salmon but instead a salmon chewing on a bear

The artstyle,the aesthetic, the music, sound design, characters, character design, story, lore, gameplay, mechanics, just.....all of it is so, so God damn incredible, and unique, and has so much attention to detail, care, love, and genuine passion put into it by its developers. Splatoon has quickly become my favorite Nintendo franchise for very good reason, and I so badly want more people to feel the same way.

the final battle of this game always gets me so hyped, no matter who i’m watching playing it like- octavio coming in clutch, deep cut and the squid sisters hyping you up, Lil Buddy becoming a Beeg buddy, and then your character, no matter what they look like, standing there on the battlefield with a determined expression….there is nothing that can top that moment when you stare into the eyes of Mr. Grizz knowing that this will be his last fight (i love this game sm-)

The Sunshine manta-ray actually jump-scared me lol, I was that dumb kid who loved sunshine sucked at it and was quickly gated from progression by the sand bird and manta-ray (I was also actually afraid of it, so that made it even harder to try to fight). the levels you have to do: the 4 crater levels(at 4) dj octavio(at 5) the 3 main bosses(at 8) the 5 rocket escape levels(at 13) both phases of mr grizz(at 14 or 15 depending on how you count it) so, you need to beat 14-15 levels to beat splatoon 3. you can get power eggs from the level even if you don’t finish the level, so the first alterna level is actually optional

But it feels like Nintendo scratched the surface for this one as much as the DLC did. Not bad, it’s actually extraordinary for a story about friendships, music, and the mystery of life and I’d like to see more for S3’s DLC.
