The fact this is somewhat considered a Prototype, well Prototype, is awesome because they actually incorporated Spider-Man's abilities really well, that webbing choppers to buildings mechanic makes me wish fall would come sooner.
Now that you mention it what year did web of shadows come out? Cause I’m not sure if it’s me but I’m kinda seeing the some of the mechanics of web of shadows on this prototype version of Spider-Man 4
Just for all those who are new, this is actually a real prototype. the reason the spidey va sounds weird is because its a stand in, they have their regularly paid vas do temporary lines until they get far enough along to have the celebreties come in and record all their lines in one or two sessions so they dont have to keep coming back and forth with script revisions.
It isn’t a real prototype stop spreading misinformation the swinging animations are literally ripped straight from web of shadows as are the thwip sounds for the webs I don’t know why u would even comment something like this
This was the basis for prototype when spiderman 4 got cancelled they used most of the assets from this to make prototype This is the original test piece for spiderman 4 the creators didn't want to throw all that work out the window and instead made a great game based around new York using the assets to save time and money which isn't a great idea but if you can pull it off like these guys it's worth the risk

Honestly, this looks like it would've been amazing, of course we don't know much about the story, but the gameplay alone could've completely changed how combat works in Spider-Man games, and I hope that future games might implement some of these ideas in the future, the closest we've ever gotten to this level of web combat has been being able to do things like string enemies up on lamp posts in Spider-Man 2 and Ultimate Spider-Man, or that one cutscene/quick time event in Insomniac's Spider-Man where he stopped the helicopter from crashing. Having something like this, where you can actually dynamically web enemies up in different ways wouldn't just be good for combat, but also the newer games' stealth mechanics- Imagine being able to sneakily pick off enemies by creating entire networks of web in the rafters above them, being able to actually create new places to sneak around in.
this just shows that the game doesnt need to look amazing but as long as the gameplay is there and run thats what makes the game. i would totally play this for awhile not caring how the it looks
@@SuperHns No, Prototype was already released when this was in development. That's why spider-man here runs and jumps like Alex mercer and Alex mercer does not run and jump like spider-man.
when i played this demo prototype a while back, the three things that really got me hyped was the more gruesome combat, the really amazingly textured webbing look. and the web swinging/manual web combat
I have to wonder how they would’ve plotted out the game. Mysterio appeared in Spider-Man 2. The Lizard and Vulture probably would’ve been the villains from there, there’s reintroducing Black Cat as there were plans of introducing her in 4. Villains that could work would be like Carnage and we could reintroduce Venom, Kingpin or Tombstone (likely Kingpin), and Hobgoblin would be my picks.
This is the true Alpha build for the 4th movie tie in game. It was originally posted a few years ago I believe on a Xbox 360 Dev console and someone thankfully recorded it and released the files so that you may emulate it and play it for yourself. Unfortunately I don’t have a good enough pc to emulate it😂 Also for game development purposes, Tobey was gonna reprise his role as the voice of Spider-Man so they made audio clips in place of his just for the mean time as they polished the game
The way you can attach enemies and the helicopter to interconnected web is so dope. Better than doing a QTE prompt that Insomniac did. This game had very good potential with its' gameplay. Really unique and manual.
Radical entertainment had so much potential on this game and it shows just on this prototype People who haved played hulk 2003 game and hulk ultimate destruction and the prototype series u know what these developers could've done for spiderman 4 if only they didn't canceled the game and movie Everything would've been different we probably still have tobey as the only spiderman if they went through with it
Spot? This probably would've been a better game than SM3, I mean Radical after Hulk. That's definitely not Tobey Maguire doing the voice. I'm guessing it's a voice audition thing for the demo like maybe they were looking for an impersonator & maybe Tobey would've voice Peter in cutscenes without costume? I don't know. I've been thinking of Iron Man 1 game that actually had Robert Downey Jr., but as Tony, not Iron Man. Yeah, not kidding.
Nah, it's placeholder footage. Several videogames have placeholder voices early in development for the devs to envision how the cutscene will turn out. This wasn't gonna be the actual voice of Spider-Man in the final game lol

Loving the fact that it’s a sorta midway point between Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows and the 2012 Amazing Spider-Man movie tie-in. The swinging, fighting and wall running are very WoS while the set pieces are akin to the TASM button prompt scenes. Actually pretty neat if it was real.
0:12 I would like to say that this is mostly not true. Raimi didn’t like any suggested scripts and sony continued to mess with those scripts to add what they wanted similar to spider man 3. Tbh from what we got it’s pretty cool but the potential plot isn’t all that good
Actually this version was used to make prototype game and as i'm seeing the web swinging looks pretty familiar to web of shadows swinging wich went out on 2008
That webbing on the helicopter and the buildings looks really cool and like something that I've never seen on any other Spuderman game! But at the same time, is nothing new as it kind of works exactly like the grappling hooks from Just Cause games! So not something completely original gameplay wise
Probably was taken right from Just Cause 2 as Spider man 4 was planned for 2011 and Just Cause 2 (The first one with the grappling hooks) released 2010
Sam Rami couldn’t finish his script because every idea he presented to Sony they gave him a hard no. Sony wanted their reboot and wanted rami out the way. That’s why for several years rami and Sony had problems up until 2020 when Sony allowed him to give a little input for No Way Home and Marvel allowed him to be a director for Multiverse of Madness
honestly you need to hand this off to someone and see if they can complete this. I honestly think this would have been one of the best spider-man games to have come out.
Honestly, That webbing things to buildings mechanic is something I've wished was in every Spider-man game I've ever played. Mad to see it almost was in one that looks like it could have been great with some polish.
Never actually played Prototype but if there was a fourth movie and a finished game for the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man I'd definitely watch the movie and play the game
This is actually prototype but it was supposed to be Spider-Man 4 until the movie was cancelled so they didn’t waste the map and they named it prototype after the prototype New York map that they put to use

Idk if this is real or not (looks real, who knows tho), but if you think about it Prototype actually has a very similar gameplay to a Spider-Man game, so it wouldn't be difficult for this studio to make a decent SM game. And also, I loved Prototype, I played it just a couple of years ago and I couldn't belive I haven't heard of it before. It felt great to discover a PS3 game that I liked. At least the first one tho, the second game was such a disapointment.
I've actually played this. It's a real leaked alpha build, not a Prototype mod. The reason he's getting those graphic errors is due to him running it on a Xbox 360 emulator, if you run it on a modded Xbox 360 flashed with RGLoader (basically a stripped down version of a DevKit dashboard that lets you load these leaked builds) it plays completely fine. I can't say or link the website for obvious piracy reasons, but there's a website dedicated to archiving leaked prototype and alpha builds of games. There's early builds of CoD games with multiplayer maps that got removed in the final release, an early build of Gears 3 that had a multiplayer mutator (the stuff like big head mode) called tourette's mode that made your character randomly yell stuff and throw their arms around, and of course this leaked Spiderman 4 alpha build for the Xbox 360. If you have a modded Xbox 360 theres some awesome stuff like this you can load up. It's so cool to see some of the stuff we were never meant to see and how games could have been.
It's because they were building it off of their Prototype gameplay, similar to how Prototype was built on the bones of The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.

Because similar to how Prototype was built on the bones of their previous game The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction so too was this Spider-Man game using Prototype as it's basis. It just makes sense to do that as a game developer instead of working from the ground up, it's cost effective to reuse what works.
They need to add these mechanics to the 2000 Spider-Man game and remake it with free roam and keep the same missions like the helicopter. Especially level 3 when you’re trying to escape the helicopters.
Radical made an epic Hulk game, a memorable one at that. But Radical working on a Spider-Man game? Bruh, you already know that was going to be lit. If only it wasn't cancelled we couldve had another marvel character from Radical. But now I see how prototype was born. They pretty much took what they had developed for spiderman 4 and transformed it into Prototype.
Except it was the other way around. They gave Spider-Man Alex Mercer's running animation because they had already made that first, for the game Prototype. If this was being made before Prototype then there would be no reason to animate Spider-Man running so completely out of character for him. Prototype came out in '08 or '09, this would have started development after that time since the movie it was going to be based on would have started pre-production around the time Prototype came out.
