Rule #1: Trust no one. Gotta say, it was really fun to watch someone play who had never played before! The surprises, the "what was that noise?" the "Huh?" etc. were really fun. I hope you keep playing and having fun! :)

the marker with footsteps is the migration, migrations makes it so herbivore's preferred diets move around after awhile and they have to follow it. carnivores follow it to hunt said herbivores, migrations are different for every herbivore and carnivores pick up the closest migration. the tree one is the sanctuary, it provides safety for juvis from adults, bees sting any dinosaur above a certain weight. there's a mushroom that gives herbivores the best diet (all 3 different diets). noone goes to the sanctuary anymore which is sad. hope this helps and you had fun!

Lovely to have another member to our community! Here are some tips for you without spoiling a lot for you to discover yourself! 1. Be sure to get different kinds of diets! They will give you different boosts if you keep them diverse, like more grow speed and faster stamina regeneration! 2. Don't get into too much trouble! If you see something you think is able to take you down, it most likely will! 3. Don't run everywhere, you don't recover stamina easily and you might risk falling off cliffs (as seen in the video XD) 4. Every dino is unique. They all have special abilities that set them apart, like Carnotaurus and his charge, Dilophosaurus and Troodon with their venom, etc... That's all i'll give you! Enjoy The Isle! You'll make it to adult someday!

as someone relatively new to the game its fun seeing another person dipping their toes in and going thru. basically the exact same learning pains lol. i play both this and path of titans and im ngl this game just hits different - path of titans is good as well it just feels far too MMO-ish if you are looking for a dino survival like the isle gives. its a great experience once you get used to the slow moments, and i adore how high stakes most combat situations are. i've had good luck with a lot of the smaller/more pack oriented carnivores - troodon has been my favourite for learning the map and how others interact with/hunt each other, since you're small enough you can usually people watch without others noticing you're there, can scavenge off kills and even join in as a persistent nuisance in fights if you want !

Some general tips: -Careful sprinting through the jungle, there are tons of cliffs. -Cerato is great for new players, best smell range, grows fast, and kinda tanky so forgiving. -Carno is very strong, but it grows slow and has horrible turn radious. -Following roads when you dont know the map is a great way to start, youll find new areas, friends, and enemies. -East plains amd Center are the 2 main player hubs, go here if you looking for a fight or need food, theres almost always corpses around. -Keep goin! Playin ark im sure ur used to unforgiving games, at least at the start. The isle has a very "dog eat dog world" in the way that people fight a lot, and its usuly for survival, hard feelings are rarely seen [in my experinxe]. -Try your best not to mix pack, prolly the most frowned apon thing, its fine if your full and someone of a diff species comes to scavenge but grouping up isnt great. Not sure if this was answered already but there is a bug rn that crashed sometime when you start to eat. The major problem with that (other than the obvious crash) is that is locks you in the eating animation. Over eating will cause your Dino to throw up and induce vomit sickness. That’s why you came back and was sick. Basically kept eating the body until sick. Dumb bug, hopefully it’s fixed soon!

If you get the chance try taking an egg. It's a good way to learn the ropes since usually you parents can teach you about the game while raising you. Not always guaranteed survival but it helped me as a new player.

what a brutal welcoming to the isle. The isle is a difficult game to learn, and even harder to master. Dont give up on it. there are lives you are going to hate because they are either boring, or die in dumb ways. but there will be lives you live that tell an unforgettable story. I still remember some of my favorite stories from back in 2015

Glad to see someone new playing the game! There is a learning curve, but for me it's so much more satisfying than the other two dinosaurs games, Path of titans and Beasts of Bermuda. The Isle can be harsh and unforgiving, but when you survive it feels great, because the game isn't holding your hand just to make you feel good. You got to where you are through your own skill, luck, or both. I'm new to this channel, so I'm not sure if you do this, but if you ever play with your subscribers I'm sure there are folks out there who would be glad to teach you the ropes as each creature has it's own unique mechanics to defend itself and survive.

Some tips + Facts Your calls: 1: Broadcast 2: Friendly 3: Aggressive 4: Surrender F. Chat calls (when you talk your dinosaur makes a noise) . Be sure to get varying types of diets, they give you different boosts, and many diet combos give you unique advantages. . As fun as the isle is, the amount of toxic players overwhelms the kind ones, so as a general rule of thumb, don't trust other players! Especially ones of differing species. . The thick areas with two palm trees (also what shows up on your scent bar) are sanctuaries, juvi dinos and younger can enter those, and it's a safe haven for young dinosaurs. . The sign on your scent map with footprints is your migration zone, go to those, migration zones are where herbivores go to get their diets, which of course leads carnivores to the same area, thus it's a good area to get food as an adult. . Learn the map! Nothing is better than knowing the map, especially when you're being chased, if you recognize where you are, chances are you'll know how to get away/up high/escape to an area where your pursuer can't get you. . Alt biting, is a directional attack, hold alt and your lmb to alt bite. There's a lot more, but many other comments have gotten what I haven't. Just enjoy the game!

This game is super hardcore, which I love. But this is the first dino game that showed me what *could be. It's really awesome when you get into the rhythm and get a crew and just have fun. If it's your cup of tea, I hope to see you play it in the future more. I haven't seen your stuff before but imma sub. I like your vid :)

The dilo applies one stack of poison on each bite on an ennemy, and past 2 stacks you can press right click to summon hallucinations on your target's view that will come and bite it. They have 3 stacks of hallucinations and you get them back over time and are displayed right below your stamina bar (the - )

lol bro. I felt that last fall… I instantly left the video with my head down in disappointment. Not disappointed at you, but I’ve been there and done that numerous of times lol, most of the time I just click away and stop, like I did to this video. Realized I needed to come back to tell you this though. Upon falling off many many of cliffs in the isle, either take your time in the wood area, or follow roads. Never run around like a manic in woods, trout. It you want to run, follow the roads. There are many of evrima maps out there on the internet. And if you go to your character screen at the very top right you can copy your coordinations and paste them on one of those map sites. To help you better navigate. I will say, it’s very difficult once you just start the isle. But that is the thrill imo. You still have a lot to learn and figure out. Once you do, you can have the time of your life. I have lots and lots of hours in both ark survival and the isle. Haven’t played ark in years though. Enjoy

Aahhhh Fresh meat... I mean... Welcome to the isle! Here are some words of advice from a veteran player. -So, you already know about the diet system, you can have different combos depending on your diet combination (Lipids, carbs, protein) and currently having one active diet of each gives the best buffs so have them each and growing a dino would be extremely fast and relatively easier. -The mist effect you saw when dilo attacked you was its venom (ill keep it short, it basically gets your dino high and makes it hallucinate, it can damage you by summoning clones you can watch a video about it.) -The tree markers show the "Sanctuarys" which provides protection for hatchlings and baby dinosaurs under a certain weight limit. Big animals can't move in that foliage and will get attacked by bees. The only exception to that is Trrdon. You can find mushrooms that give all your diets at the same time here but only herbivores can eat them (No rest for the predators). -The footprint markers indicate your migration route, that is where you can find food (For the herbivores) for predators it shows where your prey items will be going ;) -The vomit sickness doesn't take that long normally, I am afraid you got bugged. When that happens simply log out and back, that usually fixes it. -And for the love of prehistoric gods, do not run everywhere. Your stamina is precious and I can't stress enough how many times I fell to my death exploring this map ;-; -Take your time and choose your prey wisely, running away and stalking is always better than rushing in. Victory favours the cautious but starvation takes the coward, feed on ai if you need to and avoid the unfavourable fights. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions, the community is often salty these days but welcoming ^^

dilo has a venom mechanic that when it bites you.There is fog after 3 hits you can spawn allucinations hit allucinatons to make them go away each player has their own dilo allucinations so people cant help you Troodons have another venom that makes them do more damage Cera makes you puke if it bites you and if the gray part reaches your food Also ceratos and deinos can eat people from their own species other carnivore dinos will puke also deino and cera can eat evrithing. Each dino has a diet that makes them have boosts also with right click i think you do your special attak and alt +normal attak is a directional attak

If you wanna get your dino grown without risking youre life the whole time, I have ome tips for the raptor atleast. Spawn in as carno and than run of a cliff, than spawn as omniraptor and eat the body so you have every diet one time( extra growth speed) and than you can just chill in a bush untill youre like 60-70% grown.

Your gameplay reminds me a lot of my own mine lol. just falling off of ledges, getting killed by random fully grown dinosaurs as a Juvie

My favorite carnivore to play is the Herrara aka the treetop assassin. And my favorite herbivore to play is the Teno. Highly recommend trying them

Seeing as no one has written the essay of a manual for this game I will - Diets and Organs - Diets in this game as off writing determine whether your Dino takes 4hrs to grow or 2hrs all due to THE PERFECT diet witch is literally the three slots being filled with all different diet types like for instance my slots would be (1*** three dots(2 // two lines(3 S s shape diet) the slot # that the diets are in don't matter just have to collect and have all three diets being *** // S now ORGANS if you find a players corpse or kill a player no matter the dino you will be able to open their stomach by biting at it(dealing damage) once open u can grab all of the organs from said corpse and those organs give diets and are tied to one the list is (1 The Heart is S(2 There Lungs give ***(3 small intestine "the noodles" give //(4 the stomach is a wild card based on the dead players diet) - Effects - Wounded - basically reduces ur damage because ur hurt/ not at full strength or have no diet (goes away after healing or regaining diets only need one slot filled with any diet to go away) Vomit Sickness - as the name suggests u have chance of vomiting depleting stamina food diet and thirst, this is obtained when you've a eaten rotten corpse(does not apply to Cera) , Bones(does not apply if Cera or Deino), and or from a Ceras attack (usually has to build up but depends on the size of both players) I think Ceras are immune if not they can only get it by attacking each other Muscle Spasms - this makes ur dino randomly bite and is very annoying u get this effect by committing cannibalism as a non cannibal (if your Dino is a Cannibal you will see your own species on ur diet tab as one of ur sources of diet) Temporarily Infertile- is what name suggest and can be gained by having no diets cannibalism overall doesn't really matter Fractures Im sure ur familiar with broken legs but did you know a pachy has the ability to break ur skull and body, broken skull 2nd worst only to broken leg due to how detrimental ur legs are to combat and the broken skull mainly effects ur vision not fun, body fracture or what ever it is turns ur dino into a cripling gamer with scoliosis but is by far the best if u have to choose as u still have access to ur attack and can still run honestly might effect other dinos more than others but idk never really took note of it Venoms Troodon- has 3 tiers and once they get u to the third tier u one start shaking like an addict and two troodon can now do tons of damage to u with their pounce these tiers are progressed through the troodon pouncing on you Dilo - Hallucinations and reduced view via black fog Hallucinations being dilo clones that do damage but are one hit to kill but dont take lightley as this can mark the end of the fight and ur death applyed after dilo hit u enough times - Dino's u should start off with to get a better feel - 1 Herrara as it is relatively short to grow extremely deadly but also is a wet paper towel but this guy can climb trees and death is not as big as a deal for this bugger plus he will allow you to explore and spectate much easier and safer as u can just sit in a tree 2 omni or dilo this guy is a socail boi and also easyer to grow find a pack and they'll teach you everything you need to know 3 for bigger bois after atleast growing an omni or dilo once or twice try Cera as they have a very manageable diet and many deep machanics to learn after this guy u should be very well of in the Isle uh yeah gl reading this and gl on ur next isle venture

It took me back 8 years ago. Holy sh*t. Good luck, though; it is not easy at all at the beginning. If you have the opportunity to be nested, you should try. In general, people are nice, and it is one of the best experiences you can have (I think so), and it will be easier for you to find people whom you can learn from.

I'd recommend playing in a server called petits pieds it is a low rules community server with 155 player slots it is good if you want a more forgiving experience and it a lot more fun then the offical servers in my experience

Also, a tip, as a new player, never play alone and by that I mean play with someone that isn't just a random you find ingame

Ahh. Just another day in the isle haha. Don't let the deaths get to you or the negative aspects of the community. Mostly it's a good place. My advice is. Don't turn it into a waiting simulator. Play the Dino. Each Dino has its own advantages and disadvantages. Always play to your dinos advantages. Know your surroundings, You got a hill, or a cliff or tree/bushes. If you play it like you are a wild animal, being cautious, watching, listening, checking, etc creating familiar territory and finding hunting zones and safe places and only fight when you have too or its easy pray. Then survival is actually not that hard. Some tips. 1 Always keep a good distance apart from you and other players. If you manage your stamina well with distance on an aggressive player, you can burn their stamina for a good chance to swing the fight in your favour or giving you the ability to flee safely. 2. Birds eye view. Ptera is a great Dinosaur to learn the map, stay safe, watch the chaos and enjoy. But It's a steep learning curve. A very fun and rewarding one once you learn how to play it effectively. I love hunting babies as ptera. A lot of fun. You can be a pecking pest. And becomes lethal after some good flying and persistence. 3 you will hate the game if your only aim is to be big and just destroy everything you see. These people wait 6 hours just to die in 20 minutes. 4. Get immersed, be the Dino, get ya adrenaline pumping and your butt hole puckering. And have fun man. It's only a game. :)

that one of the reason why didnt stuck up with evrima the crocs and the very large map that make it hard to find food sometime or just drink safelly without getting killed the reason why im playing legacy still but great video made me laugh!

Should give Herrerasaurus a go next time! They can climb any surface with rmb, have VERY good fall damage resist, and you can kill fully grown raptors, dilos, and even carnos by pouncing them from up high until they bleed out (or even die from impact). You can even catch the fish that leap out of the water for emergency food. Super newbie-friendly playable and great for traversing the map, getting your bearings, and getting used to some of the game's more quirky mechanics.

It takes a lot of time and patience to learn this game but I'd say it's worth it so I2m glad you didn't give up. If you want some help while learning we can play together, I may not be the most skilled player but I have 1500 hours of experience and I also follow it's development pretty closely so I know what stuff are, I'm sure I can be somewhat helpful.

So since you're new i feel obligated to give you tips like i always do when i see a new player Tip 1 - DO NOT TRUST ANYONE! Very important even if it's your own species you could get killed for no reason, so always be on your toes Tip 2 - FOLLOW YOUR DIET! If you decide to ignore your diets, you'll get many debuffs and you'll be overall worse than if you had diets Tip 3 - DO NOT RUN DOWN HILLS! i doubt i need to explain why concidering you died and got your legs broken probobly countless times here are some general infos that you'd probably would like to know The dilo that disappeared after you died was a hallucination clone, which is an ability of the dilo to make you hallucinate after it bits you and spawns these clones that can kill you The icons you saw on your compass are the migration zone and the sanctuaries I'll explain what they are Sanctuaries - they are the bend palm trees that you saw on ur compass and went to They are generally supposed to be safe zones for ONLY! Juvie dinos and smaller dinos, they have AI bees that will attack any big dinos which should drive the bigs dinos away, and the sanctuaries should be relatively safer than being out, even tho they really aren't that much Migrations - the migration is an optional path that you can take that MAY! (it may not) have dinosaurs from your diet Herbivores would have migration zones that they'll follow bc that's where their food will spawn Each herbivore will have their own migration path And if you play as any carnivore, when you smell it'll show you the closet migration that may have a herbivore from your spacific diet, but which dinosaur will it be is still unknown until you go and look

We definitely have all been in these situations lol. I've been playing the Isle for over 1000 hours and I still make some of these mistakes.

Ah it feels nostalgic watching a new player fall off a cliff over and over 😂 they're everyone's worst enemy. You'll find The Isle takes a lot of patience, moving slow usually goes in your favor to survive. Keeping your stamina up for when you're attacking or being attacked and walking slowly downhill is always recommended as you never know when a random rock, branch or terrain bump will launch you over a cliff

Glad to see new players. My quick rules: 1. Mixed groups are frowned upon, and on some community servers are seen as exploiting. But organic cooperation is tolerated. If two random carnivores cooperate on a kill ant split up after, well...thats just how it goes. 2. Trust no one. Especially if you're playing a ceratosaurus or deinosuchus, as they are actively encouraged to be cannibals by the game mechanics. 3. Pachy players are all psychpaths. 4. Stegos are THE danger, stay clear. 5. Be cautious but bold. Staying in one place and hiding is the surest path to a boring and inevitable death. But starting random fights is not the smart play. 6. Juvies are typically tolerated more than adults or sub-adults, we've all been there. But do not forget that you are bite size and taste good with ketchup. I also would recommend avoiding community servers, they all tend to have their own "rules" and can get a bit...weird.

There is a canyon with a river in it near the big dome i always grew my carnivores in there, i pretty much AFK and survive off the bodies of all the people tat fall to their deaths (it happens frequently on active servers). Though I haven’t played in a while, I imagine it is still a pretty foolproof growing strategy. Only for carnivores though, the devs screwed herbivores over by forcing them to go to hotspots for food

Why was your nightvision on the whole time?

Try always to get the 3 different nutrients diet, u will grow a lot faster also if u kill a player u can bit his dead body and then grab , with g, only a tap to take a chunk of meat, if hes almost in bones u can grab the organs wich: intestine gives the 2 bar nutrient , stomach gives u the last nutrient they prey ate, the heart gives u the Z nutrient and the lungs gives u the 3 hexagons nutrient. Hope this help

Just so you know, some species may be a lot more risky to find companions with because for example, the Carno is a cannibal. The Omniraptor is not. Explains why the Omnis didnt really know what to do with you and the carno just killed you. If the Omni were to eat other omni meat, they would get muscle spasms which are basically random bite attacks. The Deino is a cannibal aswell if im not wrong, dont take my word for it though Edit: Also, the 2 palm trees signalize a safe haven for hatchlings. The maze of small palm trees is supposed to block bigger dinos from getting in so smaller ones are safe, but honestly, ignore those zones alltogether, you wont find hatchlings in them and youre not entirely safe as hatchling in them. Also, if you want to get rid of Vomit sickness, find salt rock and eat it, it will instantly remove the vomit sickness. However finding salt rock isnt easy so i recommend checking out the gateway map for the isle, theres an interactive one with a filter that will help you find salt rock. Also, when going into the growth screen ingame, on the top right you will find coordinates, left click on them will copy them, if you have the correct interactive map you can paste the coordinates into there and find out where you are. Also, when smelling ingame, the part where the line at the top points up is north, down is south. (Most playeractivity is in the East Plains/Northeastern Lake. Good luck finding players in the swamp or the river delta, nobody ever goes there and for the love of god i dont know what people love so much about that muddy lake)

Have you thought about trying Saurian that was published in 2017? I know that game is unfinished, dying (but not abandoned) and suffers from slow development because the game is a side job and a passion project for the its volunteer devs, especially after their studio's money were stolen. But it's still worth a try and not really as bad as those players say, who were disappointed to wait for Saurian to be finished and it's missing features.

Man, as someone with over 2.5k hours in this game, the isle really is unfriendly to new players

When your game froze, your dilo's eating animation continued until it filled the icon, causing him to vomit. In your case it was bad luck, but it can happen more if you overeat. The stomach icon, when completely full, will begin to flash, indicating that you should stop or vomit. Once your dinosaur vomits, you won't be able to eat anything for anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes, depending on how sick you get. You can heal yourself with Saltrocks, which are some pink rocks scattered around the map, you get close to them and press "E" and your dinosaur will do a licking animation. But they are rare to find, so it is best to sit and wait, or look for water and drink, because you will become dehydrated (be careful with the Deinos!) Also, you can contract vomit sickness contracted from a Ceratos bite and only if they have recently eaten rotten food (it does not affect other ceratos or deinosuchus, because they do not vomit) from eating Rotten Food or Bones when your dinosaur does not have that as their diet. This is not the same as the over eating debuff.

nice vid and you got vomit sicness bc when you were eating you disconected and you automatically continue eating when you disconected so you get vommit bc you eat to much and when you log back in vommit sicknes wont go away thats a glitch so you need to relog. I've had the same problem a few times, very annoying.

Salt rock will help to get rid of the vomit sickness.

Play Path of Titans but like not on an official server, join a community server if you can. The selection of dinosaurs is much bigger, the map and graphics are better in my opinion, though the PvP can be quite choppy. But the game is still in Beta so that might be why the PvP isn’t the best.

i love to see new people try the isle for the first time but very often my game crashes when i eat let me know if it keeps happeing to you aswell

You had vomit sickness bc when you crashed, you were eating so your dino continued to eat until vomit! Oh ye and the more you wait, the more it's dificult to make the sickness go away so once you have it, just sit down (cera can give vomit sickness too and i think it's the only ways to get it)

This was painful to watch. Love the fact he goes in completely blind, not watching any guides on the game. Also when he was in those groups didn't think to ask them any questions. My advice bring a seasoned player to explain everything for you.
