Shellfish shells contain heavy metals. When working with them you need a respirator not just a mask as the partials are to fine, plus full PPE. Go to the doctor right way!
@@notcrediblesolipsism3851 pretty much. Working with shellfish shells is extremely dangerous. I wanted to make sure I put the message out on all this channels videos concerning shellfish shells quickly and effectively. As a content creator Hans has a responsibility to inform his viewers of the dangers and how to manage them safely himself. As he hasn't I must assume he doesn't know and had exposed himself to dangerous levels of heavy metal containing dust.
YES‼‼‼You are absolutely correct! I’ve worked with abalone for 30 years & the dust is VERY toxic! Always wear a respirator ( or N93 mask at the very least) and sand under running water or in a bowl of water. These little ab shells are beautiful but little is the important word here. They should not be removed from the ocean when so small. I live on the Northern California Coast & abalone has become an endangered species. It may never come back. This is a really big deal. I apologize for being such a bummer, but we MUST get the word out!
