An attempt to practice touch typing on my swanky keyboard for 30 days.
Who am I? 🙋‍♂️
I'm Francis, a Trainee Clinical Psychologist at Oxford University. I previously did psychology degrees at Cambridge (Undergrad) and UCL (Master's). I upload videos every few weeks about psychology, university life and occasionally self-improvement.

85 wpm is not decent is amazing. I started at 20 or even 10 wpm and my highest now is 89 wpm

i got 72 wpm in one month : i literally started touch typing from the zero level where my average speed was 7 - 10 wpm in my first 2 days on keybr

Have you considered pressing ctrl+backspace instead of backspacing when the mistake is at the beginning of the word?

Ok I was expecting a video of someone who has never touch typed before trying it for 30 days. Be honest please: was this your first time ever trying touch typing or have you atleast played the piano before so the coordination of your fingers is already higher than an average person's? Because I can with confidence say that a complete beginner at touch typing will not hit 70-80wpm on their first try.

I haven't played in years, but I was a pianist of 12+ years at one point. I began touch typing yesterday and went from 28wpm to about 50wpm in a couple hours. Plateaued for now, but piano does seem to help a little. Definitely not that much though.
