Being a Black woman is really rough. Kelly isn’t wrong about that. I’m older than she is but experienced my share of confusion when people judged me for doing things not traditionally connected to the Black experience. We shouldn’t be limited to less fun, adventures and experiences because we are not deemed worthy. I’m impressed by Kelly and don’t think she should delete the original channel. Let it keep making her money while she celebrates God now.

This is amazing. I stopped watching Kelly Stamps after her massive blow up (probably after 200k+ subs) hearing her rediscover her faith and connect more with herself and discover what held her back in life made me want to follow her again. She is so confident and looks beautiful and happier now.

Personally, I stopped watching her within the last year or so. I am guilty of finding her because of the "How to blow up on RU-vid" type video. But I was looking at a lot of different business models back then. And I stayed a fan because of her personality and bit of a gypsy lifestyle. I think she is relatable because she is a bit quirky and the dry sarcastic humor and the moving around a lot. I absolutely love Kelly! ❤ But I could tell she was unhappy and I was not in a place where I could watch unhappy people, and so I was turning to more Christian influencers so I stopped watching Kelly and didn't even know she changed her content to what I actually wanted all along!!!! ❤ Love you Kelly!!! ❤ I have already subscribed to your new channel and am looking forward to this new journey with you! 🥰

It is so lovely to see Kelly wholly embrace her true nature. She seems to have “grown up” through her first channel. This happened to me as a young artist. I blew up as a photographer on MySpace before I really evolved into womanhood and felt myself constantly trying to keep up with an image. In a much better place nowadays. Cheers to just being yourself!

I remember I used to watch a lot of her videos,she made a comment, something existential-esque, and I thought to my self, Jesus Christ is the answer I forgot what the comment was, and I remember wistfully thinking, I hope she can have a complete life in Christ one day…How overjoyed I am to find out she is now my sister in Christ!!! God is the ultimate answer to ALL things!

I really enjoyed this interview. Kelly Stamps is one of my favorite RU-vidrs, and I love being able to witness her remarkable evolution over the years. Her commitment to authenticity has been so inspiring. I was also curious about what happened to Best dressed because she had amazing content, but now I understand why she quit RU-vid. 😕This just shows that we should all strive to cultivate kindness online, refraining from projecting our insecurities onto strangers. 18:10 this is exactly my perception “as a black woman”. I love doing whatever I want with and around whoever. I don’t let people who look “different” than me stop me. Isn’t diversity and different experiences the goal to learn and grow in this life?? You don’t have to make other people’s perceptions your reality and stop you from having fun.

Wow this is one of the best interviews I’ve seen in a while. Eric’s questions were not only thoughtful but his takes and perspectives made the conversation even more engaging. Loved it!! There’s another RU-vidr I love and support, Sade Watkins. She too went through something similar Kelly is going through right now. It’s honestly crazy how entitled some people are as if they aren’t human. It’s okay to miss certain content but I wish more people understood that people change and you don’t have to like it. There was someone who even went as far as to post a video talking about ”what happened to her." I found it absurd because influencers don’t owe us anything and it’s actually a privilege for them share any part of their life with us. We love you Kelly and I’ll always support you! Do as you please whether it be ice skating or praying. & you look beautiful

The “that’s for white people” comment got me because I’ve heard stuff like that growing all time. I got “you sound white” and some of my family assumed I was going to come home with a white bf. I never realized, at least, I remember not ever getting an apology from a parent. But some black house holds have stubborn parents, they think you having an ounce of emotion in your voice, it’s assumed as an attitude when in reality the parent doesn’t realize that they hurt their child’s feelings.

I didn't expect this pod to pop up on my recc's but I watched anyway since I watched Stamps way back when. Part of the reason why I've stayed private online or veered from creating content was due to some of the ways people start seeing and commodyfying your existence based on that content. I've created content and released some regardless (video game mods and software) but with intention of putting work out that I was proud of. Sure, I've gotten praise and positivity sent my way but keeping up with the feedback, suggestions, and critique has grown tiring, and has made me afraid to continue interacting with the communities that I've made content for. However, the discussion around creating content that attracts a healthier fan base, recognizing when people who only want to take advantage of your skills and success, and setting clear boundaries between you and your fanbase has me rethink my relationship with my content and has made me put serious thought into creating content again, but with a more informed approach. Thank you for this!

I found Kelly through her blowing up videos, but stayed for her humour. I’ve now followed her to the new channel, even though I’m not religious. I don’t necessarily have an interest in discussions about religion, but I like the way Kelly delivers her ideas and I’m hugely inspired by the freedom she’s created for herself and her extensive self awareness. Her videos are chaos in the best possible way - I never know exactly what to expect, but I know I’m gonna laugh!
