When someone asked me to compare all my IEMs I thought why not rank them top to bottom.
Warning - this video probably serves no purpose at all but maybe it helps you in some twisted way. None of the rankings are to be serious, it doesn't mean one is better than the other and a lot of these earphones I would have put in shared positions.
There is not much sense to it but it's the ones I like and for what reasons. This is not a ranking of the best sound, the performance of build I'm purely going from my gut. Enjoy and be sure to leave a comment below telling me which IEMs are in the wrong place 😂😂😂😝😝

That's not an issue they can be 5 years old like my sony mdr z5, or sony mdr7550 or ex 800st, another good one is flc8s ,another old one ue triple fi 10, and another sony a3,so many, the macaw gt600, audio technica im50, im70, it's time to get a good few cheap ones myself, like mele,reecho peacock spring, tri i3 pro,tin t3 plus, and so many , no need to buy expensive

You should review the newly released planar IEMs called 7hz Timeless, people say they're better then Tin P1, almost as good as Audeze with the cypher cables and they're really cheap Also, you should make a ranking list, this will save you a lot of times in comparing

I would recommend to add Shure Se846 in equation. All enthusiast I know have 846 ++"other". We need to recognize 846 is little bit then decade dominating professional market and that is not some coincidence. Seeing this video I ordered & now have Solaris 2020 but I felt like taking risk without knowing how Solaris stack up to 846. Forums are not trustable knowing keyboard warriors will comment on something they did not experience at all. This channel is with huge potential and if you consider my recommendation to trough 846 in some comparison mix, videos will find more recognition.

At some point you reviewed Monarch, where does it fit here, better or worse than Excalibur?

It's better than Excalibur. Ever so slightly more resolution and maybe a touch less aggressive. If money was no object id take the monarch over the Oracle but the excalibur sounds fantastic in some situations so it would be a bit harder to justify the price hike.

What a list!!! Excalibur it is then. It keeps jumping up from everywhere, with great reviews attached to it, so I think I've made a choice. Damn, I just really don't like when they keep doing "girly" looks based on stereotypes. People are different. Not every girl wants a shiny rock in her ear...

Agree, this is a huge thing in cycling. Bikes clothing etc looks great then there's a flash of pink down the side to designate it as a "female version" lol A lot of people I know just wanted an all-black stealth look but the manufacturers just would not stop adding random colors to it.

I bought the Satsumas for me for Christmas and they objectively sound worse than the $30 KS2s as with their smaller nozzles I couldn't get a great fit, so tiny bass/small soundstage (thank you Campfire for great customer support in suggesting this btw, as well as suggesting, maybe tongue in cheek I get some Mammoths!) you have given me so many more ideas as alternatives.

Great idea for a video. Really it's around $500 now that sound starts to flatten its curve and we talk about minor percentages in improvement. Build, styling and other innovations like Dunu's cables etc start to play a role though. I'll put up a video discussing this in the next few weeks, thanks for the suggestion.

I have a lot of CIEM but stopped buying them as universals better for me. The one i have are UM, Cosmic ears, custom art, lime ears, and M-Fidelity and another i can’t remember 😂😂 good if you find an IEM you really like and have heard but i wouldnt commit in a blind buy. Hope that helps.

Wow, I actually learned a hell of a lot from this list. Ironically, I've been an audiophile for years but never taken HeadFi all that seriously until about a year ago. I bought two sets of iems, and a Chord Mojo and in the months that followed, all of these ChiFi IEMs have been coming out of the woodwork, companies I've never heard of and I've honestly been wondering if I jumped into this too soon and could have saved a lot of money, but this list settles that forever. Out of that great big pile of headphones and without much of any hesitation you picked as your first choices the same IEMs that I own. Whew! Between the Solaris 2020 and the Dorado 2020, as a listener I feel pretty satisfied and the only thing I'd be interested in is whatever outperforms the Solaris 2020. I also have to wonder how many of these ChiFi companies will still be here in five years? Do you plan on reviewing any gear from 64 Audio anytime soon? I wonder what all that extra cost gets the listener vs the Solaris 2020. This was a crazy list but it sure sorted things out for me.

Glad you enjoyed it, actually was one of my most fun videos, and hope it sheds more light on people about the spectacular amount of options out there. Theres definitely something about the way Campfire tune their IEM's. I think when you get up to that Solaris level we are talking about sidegrades and tuning variations. I have heard earphones double the price and can't really say they are worth it at all. eg JH Layla and Roxanne i enjoyed both but can't say its better or worse so does that justify the insane pricing? The AK ones are definitely not worth it. Sony IER-1ZR which I have are endgame like the Solaris 2020 but are bulky. Noble have some multi 1000 iems that cant outperform 500 dollar tribrids from thieaudio. Shure's KSE1500 are awesome. The AAW halycon sound great too. Lots and lots of options and some established brands offering fair pricing but most of the time overpricing compared to Chifi. Yet you raise a good point about where will these brands be if years to come. A lot of the ones on this list will probably peter out but I think ones like Shuoer and Thieaudio are going to be very strong. I think that's where companies like Linsoul have been so important in this sector. They give a face and confidence to buying from these companies and without them we would be stuck gambling big bucks on aliexpress etc. Certaily the Chifi market is the one pushing the technologies and innovation in the past few years... if I was an established brand id be pretty worried as people are becoming more and more educated.. Sure I can pick up some 64 audio, any suggestions for which ones are worth checking out? BTW very nice setup, I love the Mojo and it pairs great with the Solaris :)

@@AudioLevels I have no experience with 64 Audio gear personally, full disclosure, and my interest in them stems from the frequency of their mentions by other RU-vid reviewers over the last year or so. The u12t perhaps is the one mentioned most, but you did sort of answer my question above, being, how much better is the sound when paying over $2000US? Your comments above echo my experience with HiFi in general, namely that beyond $5000, components offer mainly incremental improvement, rather than night and day differences. The Mojo is astonishing. Pairing it with the Solaris results in a sound that took me years and thousands to create in my home system. Got lucky there, considering how tough this hobby can be.

That was very useful man, thanks. The only one of these I have are the Shuoer Tape (which I really like). I'd love to hear what you think of my most recent FOTM favourite, the Geek Wold GK10. They seem to have a largely great reception, but some have reported very different qualities to what I hear (I love the way they sound, and hate the way they look).

Some are sent as samples, about half are purchased and the others are sent by friends or subscribers as loaners. Haha iv had the bug since around 2000 when I picked up a set of $100 sure monitors (I think maybe the e2c?)

The Mammoth would be fantastic for those genres, Excalibur would also perform well but there's also the Xenns Up which ill talk about soon hard-hitting tribrids with great sub-bass.

@@AudioLevels I have so little knowledge and experience on this field but after having watched so many videos, I'm gonna try to buy the KZ ZSX first to get to know what is this multiple hybrid drive all about, probably later on try on the Dunu EST 112 and see what is coming in the future. To be honest with you at the moment it is really hard to justify a purchase above $400 for an iem.

@@OrdLee You def don't need to go over 400. The Tin P1 i ofren pick up and listen to over my 4-500 IEM's, they are so good at resolving detail. That and a $100 or so amp would be all I ever need in reality and leave me with a huge smile on my face. Also don't discount the used market you can sometimes get over 50% off a top notch IEM that way, and most people treat there expensive IEM's like babies so they are like new. Theres lots of great options out there now :)

That’s a great video! Could you help me with something? I tried tin hifi t2 plus and I really liked their clarity but they very very harsh and fatiguing to listen to. But the clarity was amazing. I have 1 more quads which I find very dark and muddy. It is good but not great. T2 plus sounded better but bass was not to my liking on them and they were harsh. Finally I bought fiio fh3 as I wanted a mix of clarity and bass. They are good but not great again. I am confused as to what I enjoy the most honestly. But could you suggest me something? Or a few options to check out? Would really appreciate it!

I can do that, for the most part, check the impedance rating although it's not always the case (tin hifi p1) look for 32 ohm and under.

My Legacy 2 had very weak bass to the point where I wonder if they may be defective. I doubt they were though, because the bass was there equally on both earpieces but just really underwhelming. The Blon A8 however I found very very pleasing. Especially with Reggae, Dub, and EDM.

That is strange. They hit harder than the Aria for me so it could be a defect. Agree that those Blons are awesome. One of my favorite designs on the market right now and is great value for money.

@@acroyear23 I don't think that would be variance. Variance is usually subtle differences, to have the bass drop off that bad to me would suggest something is not right but then its stange that its happening in both channels. Who did you buy from?

@@AudioLevels thanks for the link. Doesn't look great there for sure. I most likely have a knock-off fro. AliExpress, but it's the softest ever, Moreso than the well regarded Sony IER series. It really does behave like string. Also I am not convinced in cable upgrades making audible differences so the cheaper end of the market doesn't bother me as long as the quality is good.

@@lunchbreak1792 You bring up a good point that I'm going to look into, fakes and reps. In this case a cable is a cable so even if it isn't real it likely sounds the exact same as a high end cable and ultimately if you enjoy the way a cable performs that's all that count's. I know there are cables from cheap manufacturers and expensive ones and I just go with what works. The only real innovation is with the interchangeable jacks which is great for me who uses multiple source devices, those who are a 1 device guy wouldn't get much benefit :) Thanks for commenting btw!

No idea haha, some are sent, some are loaned and a lot are purchases. Iv probably spent in excess of 20,000 dollars on audio to this point. Theres ways to cut those costs though, never underestimate the used market. there are some fantastic pickups to be had when hype trains die down and prices drop.

Watched it completely, thanks alot. Where would you place the Dunu SA6. Is it stored at home, or was it excluded from the beginning since it is not one of the best? I am asking because I am close to buying a ~USD500 IEM and it is on the short list due to its supposedly good tuning, good built quality and good fit. Do not want to blow that much money into a dud. 😊

SA6 is great. Warm, great midrange and smooth treble. Very detailed for as relaxed as they sound. Worth the money, imo.

Firstly amazing review.....amazing idea of comparing earphones to have a more coherent idea of sound. Unfortunately most are not within my grasp so I won't be able to listen to them, but those that I do know I agreed with most of your opinions. The TFZ LOVE 4 was one that I disagree with....I actually found the mids and highs very well done and matched nicely with the bass that is not the typical overblown TFZ , but rather very well textured and clean. Maybe I got a good set....maybe it's my music, but I was very surprised. Mind you I love the No3. As for the rest I definitely was able to get a good idea of what probably will be my next purchase as I slowly enter the 500usd price bracket. How would you compare the Excalibur to the Variations? Variations Vs Blessing 2 I like mostly Harman tuned and or Neutral with warm bass.

Amazing video!! Your reviews are so truthful. Sometimes we may like an iem for its performance(Solaris), value for money(Aria) or for its aesthetics(Prometheus). From watching your reviews, i kinda get an understanding of your preferences thats why i mostly agree with your comparisons and ranking. My question though, for those who prefer a more neutral or even laid back sound signature like me, would the oracle be a better choice than the excalibur and in a similar way, would the satsuma be a better "fit" than the honeydew??

Thanks, I was worried when starting the channel how people would take it but you seem to have nailed it that the people that will get the most from these comparisons will be the ones that listen in a similar way or like previous IEM's I have enjoyed. I try to put myself in other shoes during the individual reviews and suggest who would maybe like it if it wasn't to my own personal tastes. In the comparisons, though I'm talking more about how I like things and what I enjoy in this hobby :) You are definitely right that the oracle would be the better choice for laid-back and more natural. I think it the more versatile and plays well with a lot of genres. The Excalibur has more of high energy in your face appearance that I like but some can find it fatiguing in long sessions. Hope that helps a little :)

Maybe someone should make a video about why so many differences in price. Knowles Nd sonion drivers are the most common used drivers this days. Why some iem with 4 drivers charge 300 bucks and some 1000 with the same drivers. Is the tuning and the shell worth the extra 600 bucks. I don't think so.

Many many factors at play. Location, staff costs, marketing budget, logistics, debt, design, tuning, rent of office space and assembly space, in house vs out house operations, hr, parts, expenses, profit margins, scale, local taxation, lead times etc etc ….. realistically you dont pay for the sum of the parts but for how and where the company operates

@@AudioLevels Awesome! I just got a pair for a good deal. And im on the hunt for a good external dac or dongle dac to drive them! They did good with the lightning to 3.5mm adapter since I have IOS. But I’m looking for the best thing that can also drive future IEMs. Is there any device you would recommend? Especially since the SE846 thrive on devices with low output impedance and a H/L gain setting with their low 9Ohm. Best Regards Erik!

@@AudioLevels Thanks! Well at first I was looking for a portable DAC. I’ve mainly looked at FIIOs for their great price and promises. But I’m shifting over on maybe starting at getting a Dongle DAC for a start. Budget maybe 100-200$? I’m using iPhone! Also I haven’t found any concrete answers online but is the oem shure cable worth changing? Maybe I should start with a new cable and a good dongle dac and move on from there? //Erik
