KC rattles in a huge 6 pt while hunting public land in Texas, but a young 7 pt does his best, along with a bunch of hogs, to ruin the game.
Texas Public Land can be tough, but with some hard work map scouting and having quality hunts with good access, hunters can find big bucks on the national grasslands, Rec areas, wmas, and National forests of the lone star state.

Those sunglasses with a blueish tint look like could be a giveaway if caught at the wrong angle with the sunlight. Obviously it didn't matter, not hating. Just an observation

Nah man, it’s a great point! I’m glad you brought it up. I noticed that too as soon as we rewatched the footage. Definitely not bringing mirrored lenses in on any hunts in the future. Thanks for the feed back and for watching!

It might be a good idea not to have them sunglasses on the reflection could be a possibility they can see something that doesn't look right to them and become spooked. It Just looked like they were seeing movement. Just a thought.

You’re right man. After watching the footage I definitely took note to remove my sunglasses next time! The smaller buck caught me while I was trying to make a move on the bigger buck I think.

I know what you mean! But this time, it was that 3 yo 7 point. Sucker came in and hung out for 5 minutes at 12 yards.

Haha! Very observant! That guy was cool. It was climbing the persimmon tree to eat the fruits. Everything was eating persimmons down there.

This time it was real short. Just to get the bucks attention. As soon as he looked I’d stop. It took two attempts to get him headed my way. Probably 15 seconds each.

This year I’ve been using a combination of muddy pro sticks, primal tree steps, and then a Tethrd saddle and platform.

Haha man I wish I could tell ya!!! But you know some ol’ public land dudes gotta keep some things a secret. I’ll tell you this: don’t overlook places that are close to civilization. There are great places all over the state near the city.
