Not that I didn't have the utmost respect for you before, this video really showed me a lot about who you are and your outlook on life. It's incredible to see that hunter's still have so much respect for their prey. What a beautiful animal, my hat is off to you! And at least he left a couple nice sheds for you 😁 Much love from Oregon
You know I've been getting ready for a big Ohio whitetail I haven't seen one of your videos for a minute until now you and Jim shocky are hunting machines your so blessed to raise the deer that you do your incredible God bless America
Wow...what an amazing video.....you know, sometimes the best hunting years are not the ones when we harvest a big buck but when stories like this happen that will live on for generations.....thanks for sharing....I enjoyed every minute of it
Tim this is truly an an amazing episode...one that has touched my heart and changed the way I hunt. I respect you for what you do and how you do it. Say hello to Dumb Dumb for me when you see him...and, may he be 25 yards closer.
Well. You got the big antlers and beautiful photos of him, which you can enjoy for years. And that beautiful creature gets to live like you and enjoy life.🌲
There just some in life that makes your world turn. I'm 64 yrs old thus I 've let deer and big bucks go by for 7yrs this last season I look over and the second biggest buck that I knew of was across the field and said to myself it's time. The hole family came out to help get and load that buck up. By the time I walked back to the truck everybody there I looked up and seeing everybody there made tears rolling off my face. Grandson calls out 7 yrs papa. That when you know you love it.
I'd get a cape and mount the sheds. I've watched you shoot, this was a pie shot for you. Incredible story! Awesome deer. All good things come from the Lord.
Well if you we had 500 acres all fenced in with farm grown monsters to pick from we would have passed that as well. Yeah I’d have shot that in a heartbeat
Jack Mechak that’s what guys that can’t be patient and shoot the first thing that walks out says... nah I’m just joking and I used to be like that, when I was young, and impatient and learned that those does and young bucks will be back tomorrow and I’ll have plenty of chances to get them so unless I’m desperate for meat or I’m on an out of town trip I’ll usually wait if I’m in my usual hunting spots, which a couple years ago, luckily I checked my camera before I went hunting that afternoon and there was a MUCH larger mature “sway back” 8 point than the decent younger 8 point I was hunting for in that stand, (the bucks around here average 8 points as the main frame, sometimes you’ll see one with a kicker point or two) and that evening that smaller 8 point walked out, As I was watching him working a scrape I was thinking about if I wanted to shoot him or not because he came thru pretty regular (he was one of the main deer I had the most pictures of) and I turned my attention to the two does that was walking up the trail behind me (I was hunting on an old power line that hadn’t been cut in a few years and the brush had grown about 4-6ft high in the middle) and as I’m watching them I say I’m gonna go ahead and shoot that buck, well I turn around and he’s going back in the woods, 10 minutes later the monster I had one picture of stepped out and I dropped him at 100 yards with the 308, if it hadn’t been for my patience I wouldn’t have had the bigger reward of knowing I had that patience and took a good ole mature buck had more to show for it and a good bit more meat from the 200lb deer vs the 150lb deer and I seen good bucks before I had game cameras and learned there can be a much better, more mature deer right behind the one you would’ve shot.. and the point of what he was saying is that he’d shoot the deer this guy passed up because “it wasn’t quiet a shooter”
The fact that some of you are ignorant enough to try and claim that this is a high-fence preserve without knowing any facts about Tim Wells and his bowhunting ability or his ability to grow mature deer hurts me deep inside. Having a vast area to hunt, large amounts of foodplots, having great deer genetics, and simply putting the time and effort into growing these beautiful animals can result in growing several P&Y bucks a YEAR if you have the resources. Just because you don't shoot P&Y bucks regularly doesn't mean other people don't.
Amazing video i had a similar thing happen last year been chasing a buck for three years and finally got the chance to take him.He gave me shot after shot and i just admired that deer.I finally harvested him but that deer will always be remembered long after meat is eaten.to me this is bow hunting not just killing i can't wait to have my daughter and son with me watching wildlife and if they choose to hunt all the better.cheers
What a nice video, long time story, and hunting adventure. Please keep these kinds of video'coming our way. So nice to have the wife with you through it all yet. Just an all around fortunate lad as I see it. By the way where are you located with such an early drop taking place? Hope to hear about this years hunts from you. Even any sheds found. Alot of us shed heads out here too. Thanks so much for sharing it all with all of us.
Awesome story.. there was an old 14 point at our familys orchard that several of us missed thru the years he was a very smart deer im sure he passed from old age none of us ever got him...
Thanks for the great video. I hope to live when deer get that big in middle Georgia. In the 1920-1930 disease killed off almost all of the deer around here. it wasn't till the late 60's 70's that they relocated 60 deer to Ft. Gordon Ga, 60 to Burke co. 60 to Jefferson Co.and 60 to Washington Co. I see lots of deer but not giants like in your videos. I am sure with proper management and less disease like CWD I hope they will get there. Give Big Louie a wink for me
Where does this guy hunt, with piles of these giant bucks all over? I'd feel blessed to see a buck that sized just once in my life. This guy's got piles of um in a single field.
That reminds me Of something from a video from several years ago Jeff Foxworthy and realtree outdoors did a comedy hunting video called “incomplete deer hunter” and some of the skits in it they dressed up in deer costumes and had “preseason deer herd meetings” and other stuff and one thing the two bucks did before walking out in the field was they pulled their antlers off to look like does lol. You can find some of these scenes on RU-vid.
Tim, I am a life long hunter and I liked your video. I can't believe some of the comments below by the anti hunters; they get their meat at the supermarket but they've never been to a slaughter house. I live on a farm and I have seen the carnage in those places many times. Unless these people are vegetarians, they are hypocrites.
Mathews Triax No they get that big when you have a place in the right spot and you don’t shoot four year old deer !! The genetics on his place is awesome. The right food soybeans and age you you let em walk you have big deer You gotta let them get some age
I love shed hunting, after the hunting season is over. You get to spend more time in the woods and make a plan for next year. That was a great video Tim and I'm glad Sydney found this matching set. What a beautiful trophy
That's probably the most beautiful buck I could imigine mr Tim your the man I've said it before and me Jim shocky I've never heard of you being in columbus Ohio for or expo
I think its awesome at 8:38 when he says YOU MUST HAVE FORGOTTEN MY PROMISE I MADE & real quick back on DUM DUM he (DUM DUM) gives a WINK!!! like NOPE!!! I've not forgot I'm just a WISE OLE BLOAK!!!! LOL!!!
It was wonderful to see Syd's excitement and enthusiasm after shooting her first huge black bear in Canada. Thanks for sharing. I understand the need to disable remarks in certain videos...
I truly respect you Tim I watch this over and over even though he’s a monster it’s truly heartwarming to see how you let him go he was a truly amazing animal do you know what happened to him
Will someone please tell me where places like this exist - with multiple monster deer casually walking out into a field? I've been hunting over 40 years and nothing I've ever experienced is even close. That "not quite a shooter" buck would be a monster where I hunt.
Mr Wells I'm great full you or someone on your team saw my comment I mean it you and Mr Jim shockey are hunting machines we have a hunting expo in columbus Ohio around 1 January boy alot of people would like to meet you i would thanks answering hope your son stays healthy a hell of a athlete I've watched you from day one your the best
