I have The Inheritance of Orquidea Divina on my list and now I want to move it to the top of my pile. I am enjoying The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Mandanna and just added her other book, A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping to my wish list. I hadn't seen The Black Witch so I definitely want to check that one out. Thanks for great suggestions!
I hadnt fknished Slewfoot when i did my video or it would have been mentioned because it was great. Definitely recommend it. Thanks for collabing again this year ❤
--I've read The Inheritance of Orquidea Divina and quite enjoyed it. I definitely recommend it. --I definitely agree with you on Nettle&Bone. I really enjoyed reading it earlier this year. --Most of the other books are on my TBR and I hope to get to them...eventually. Thanks for sharing such a fun list!
I am working on a witchy reads video too! You should absolutely add to your witchy TBR: Weyward by Emilia Hart Once and Future Witches by Alix Harrow Hester by Laurie Albanese The Witches of Moonshyne Manor by Bianca Marais Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling Garden of the Cursed by Katy Pool
Oh! Exciting! I hope your video inspires lots of people to pick up witchy reads! Thank you so much for the recommendations! Some of them I already read, and some I heard amazing things!!
Once and Future Witches is patiently waiting in my bookshelf for me to finish my current read! I cannot wait to read it, I've been waiting for age to get my hands on it!! 😁
I recently read Circe and really liked it. I thought it connected different myths really well. I just finished The Grace of Wild Things, and it's such a wholesome book. It's a middle grade about a girl who stays to live with a witch and tries to learn magic. You convinced me to read Payback's a Witch.
Oooo! Fun suggestions. I will need to sit down and put some of these on my wishlist. Don’t judge me! A witch book that was so much fun, but not spooky was “ The House Witch” by Delemhach. Medieval setting, politics, romance and a fantastic, abrasive and lovable main character. 4.5 stars with over 9K reviews.
Last year for #Hallowreads I read and loved soooo much "The Witch of Willow Hall" by Hester Fox, in my opinion an underrated or rather an overlooked book in the community. Is a historical fiction about a family that are descendants from the Salem witches and they arrive to this middle of nowhere manor near a dark forest. It has a little bit of romance but it's subtle so that the story cannot be properly considered a romance, it is more of a spooky mystery with ghosts and this amazing witch that is one of the sisters... loved it. Oh and it's set in the 19th century so the vibes are just *chef kiss* And the year before I read "The Once and Future Witches" that a friend who lives in London lent me in English. I loved it so much that by the time it came out in Spanish I told my handful of friends to read it, with the surprising reaction of... not really liking it. So in my opinion even thoug the book was well translated, the translator didn't transfer the spirit of the original Alix Harrow's book in its entirety and killed the vibe in the process. I don't know, I tried to read it in Spanish and it definitely felt flat when I had loved it so so much when I read it in English. This year I will be reading "Belladonna" and "Nettle and Bone" the first one in Spanish and the second one in English, I know that a Mexican publisher has published (valga la redundancia) it in Spanish but it's hard to find it in Spain and the shipping from Mexico would be a joke without the fun part. Anyway as you well know, books are incredibly expensive in Spain so... win-win at least for me (and you)
Ahh! Thank you for the recs Polly! I will definitely be 👀 The witch of willow hall! It sounds so good! I totally agree with the translations. I am currently reading Foxglove in Spanish (because I went to a signing and it was impossible to miss the opportunity!) and I am cringing so hard all the time! The vibes are not as good as I found Belladonna’s (in English) but hopefully it will be a good experience for you! Nettle&Bone definitely good idea to read in English! And yeah, man! Books here.. una locura 😭
@@FunFantasyBooks I am reading "Belladonna" in Spanish only because I had heard so much about it that when I happened to be at Casa del Libro... I mean, it was there, so I had to. If they had had in in English I would have bought it in English... I have become very picky over the years especially since most publishers won't hire correctors ehemMinotauroPlanetaehm
Thank you so much for the kind words Isa 💙 To be honest, in these times it's difficult to think about reviews. But every act of normality helps me get bk to normality too. Thank you!
I crafted this list based both witchy books I read (and loved) but also added some witchy books that were mentioned time and time again while doing the research! I hoped for this list to be very complete!
