I really wanted to hate this cheap a** SHEIN makeup but... - Edward Avila 

The ethics of shein is an ENTIRE can of worms because much of it is a gray area but I want to point out that many higher end brands use the same type of unethical labor practice that shein uses. It is very rare to see a high end/ expensive brand (or even a non-expensive, larger brand) with ethical business practices. Does that make it okay? Absolutely not, however saying something like "Oh i would never use Shein I use xyz high end brand" doesnt make sense because they are both two sides of the same coin, if that makes sense. Just do your research if you want to commit to sustainability :)

Sheglam is actually manufactured by the company that manufactures tarte, it’s like colourpop and Kylie cosmetics being manufactured by the same company

One fact people missed out about fast fashion is that it's not only about how fast they're goes in, but also how fast they go out. As long as we're not overconsuming this items, it should be fine still. Once we reduce our consumptions, they'll automatically reduce production as well. To be fair, high-end brands are probably equally unethical

I am going to say tho, as someone who can’t afford Sephora type level makeup, SheGlam was a literal life saver for me

Maybe I’ve been on TikTok for too long, but for some reason I was just thinking there was going to be hate comments or slander, but I’m really glad that this community isn’t toxic like that! I like how everyone pretty much is acknowledging the toxicity of big and high end corporations as well and just actually thinking about different perspectives on an issue!

I am REALLY HAPPPYYYYYY these days because if I’m being honest I like Eddie doing these kinda contents more than idols. I am really picky when it comes to beauty content, but Pony and Eddie are the ONLY TWO that I enjoy every single minutes of them talking about makeup

i think a good rule of thumb w shein products is: if u have the money to shop proper sustainable brands, choose that option rather than choosing to exploit both the environment and underpaid (child) workers. if you don’t have the money to shop sustainably or buy proper make up products, there’s no shame in buying from shein if it’s your only option!

I've bought their makeup. I can tell you it hasn't given me a bad reaction and stayed fresh. In its consistency. SheIn is really making an effort in their makeup. The foundation/primer/powder gave you a nice finish. It would have turned more epic If the foundation would have been a exact match. The eyeshadow look/palette looked really nice. Well done.♥️👍👍👏👏💄

Besides the ethical and whatnots of shein, overconsumption really is a problem, I myself am also guilty of it. Pick what you really need, triple quadruple times think what to purchase, and please please please use what you purchase until the last ml of it

I love their makeup, is good and affordable and for some people that’s exactly what they need because y’know not everybody can afford to buy makeup from Sephora and such I totally get what you were saying about fast fashion and so on but damn! I work in the beauty industry and I must take care of my image and I go trough my makeup like crazy, also I have kids so this option is perfect to me since I don’t feel very confortable spending money on expensive makeup anymore, I feel like I’m robbing my kids lmao 💀 so thanks she glam love ya’ girl.

The honest truth is that many brands have issues with child labor, sustainability, and inflationary practices so it isn’t something new. Although I don’t think this brand is directly affiliated with SHEIN, thank you for reviewing this brand and all the honest tea about it.

A lot of brands we use in everyday life are horrible or their companies may have leadership who are lobbyists for corrupt (lack of) government regulation, but you pick your battles otherwise life would be too hard. I appreciate the disclaimer and asking people to do their own research first.

This is what I like about Edward, he actually shows us his skin texture and how the products apply on the face unlike the other beauty gurus where they apply tons of filters and stay a mile away from the lens. You can barely see any difference between the products they use. Edward is really tempting me to buy the foundation but unfortunately shein got banned in India so I guess I will just sulk for the rest of my day.

I would love to see Eddy in full “American/Westernized” glam beat. Rather than the soft Korean makeup that he normally does. Someone please make it happen!

The fact that you actually acknowledged the “issues” with shein as opposed to just promoting the site hugely impacted the way people responded your video. I can’t tell you how many shein videos I’ve seen where the comments only talk about the negatives. I love that people are talking about and taking into account how so many high end brands are no different. P.s I’ve literally never commented on RU-vid but I just loved the awareness people were spreading

omg thank you so much Edward for showing me how to use the shade POV of the blurred lip whip!! I bought it and was so turned off by the color cause it was so much lighter than what I was expecting, but I'm gonna try it as a "lip liner" next together with the deeper shades that I got! Also!! The blush shade Birthday Suit is a matte shade! Another trick is using the liner tip of the 2 in 1 brow pencil as an eyeliner, works beautifully! I got my shade in Auburn and although the name sort of suggests warm tone, it is actually cool toned!

I gotta admit, I don’t know or care about makeup. But, I always make your channel an exception. You’re just chill and interesting to watch.

Wait the colorful eyeliner is so neatly done, I actually super like it on Eddie!!! I haven’t bought from shein in a long time after some of the controversy came out, but I’d like to check this makeup out. I like my makeup routine I have already, but a few products like the brow gel and the eyeliner pens sounds do-able. Always take purchases with a grain of salt honestly, not every brand is honest. Most of my routine comes from elf and cheaper target brands…but the quality is still there!!! Thanks for sharing edwardddd 😹🤗

A tip to get rid of pimples quickly is to use Betadine on them as it dries them right out if you keep putting it on throughout your day. Only problem is it makes your skin orange for a while so you need to stay in when applying it.

For those of us out of money, we need it. I was with no make up for 2 years because my career was not possible and I had to deal with a strict budget. My money went to rent, food and utilities ... so thank you. LOVE YOU♡
