Relapse on any drug leads to feelings of anger, disappointment, regret, shame, and a host of other sad emotions. When people first quit vaping or smoking they relapse because of nicotine withdrawal, or acute nicotine cravings.
But why do people relapse after they quit vaping for a prolonged period?
In this brief video Dr. Frank aka docfrankhere the founder of AddictionMindset recovery coaching explains how to avoid relapse forever.
Here at AddictionMindset recovery coaching we help people quit nicotine, THC, energy drinks, and adult media content.

Day 2: No drugs. Tried to eat dinner last night, and it all came right back up. Called it early and last night was hard… all night. No sleep. Just watch videos all night and try not to make a big deal out of it. Came so close to going out and getting a cart in the middle of the night, but I grounded myself as this video describes. It works (at least for me). So here’s to day 2. Let’s get clear together.

I’m on day 68 sober from weed, cold turkey. Today i had such a crazy urge out of no where and almost imagined myself going to buy some weed and I was completely caught off Gaurd by it. Thankfully I didn’t give in, I went and got some fried chicken and just forgot about it

They should cover this in high school , when every kid starts to try things like weed. I had like 4 Heath classes but don’t think they ever mentioned why weed was bad and the withdrawals. I would have probably not gotten addicted if I knew exactly what is was doing .

From the UK here, we got taught fairly well in schools. The problem is 90+% of people in the UK use tobacco with weed (mixed together in a joint). I never smoked cigarettes but my brain now associates the nicotine rush with a joint, making it all the more addictive.

@@stainlessdoom3433 yea I actually never thought about the wraps people use because I always just smoked carts or bud, but I made sure I never smoked nicotine because quitting weed is hard enough, and adding tobacco to the list would really suck

I agree they should tell us the specific reasons why drugs are bad. I think that partially the reason why I started smoking weed was curiosity, my father always told me that drugs are bad, but he never told me specific reasons(he never tried drugs) and he didn't know specific reasons . He is also a very old school guy(can't tell the difference between weed and heroin), so asking him - why are drugs bad? - was out of the question, I knew that he would respond explosivly and that would raise suspicion in his head. I quit weed cold turkey 10 days ago, and it's a struggle. If I ever have kids, at least I'll be able to tell them specific reasons why they shouldn't use drugs.

Almost 9 weeks off weed, nic, and alcohol for me, and I feel like this last week I've been having more cravings than ever.. a couple stressful things going on, and I'm just like.. man, I could really go for a dip, cig, or a bong rip right now!. Luckily they're not too intense though, and I'm able to fight through them easily. But this is a good reminder to not let my guard down any time soon! I'm gonna try out the list writing to keep motivated. I made a list before quitting, but a few cool benefits popped up that I did not even expect! Would be great to organize these so I can physically see what my fight is doing for me!! Thanks for another great idea to help me and all of us strugglers out, Doc! You da man!

There are no 'acute nicotine cravings', the physical withdrawal is almost imperceptible and it is something that smokers experience every day of their smoking lives, nicotine addiction is an addiction rooted in the mind. Conquer the mental addiction and you're free for the rest of your life.

I relapses once again. Feel horrible depression. Like all I want to do is cry. I think it's because I've realized that I can do so great, until a month or so, then those thoughts creep back in. I cave when that happens because I don't want to put my mind through hell. It seems like cravings don't pass. When the thought appears I can't shake it. So I go back, buy a vape, and feel like shit. This is such a toxic roller coaster. How come I can feel so depressed just from picking up nicotine? I'm beyond frustrated. Can't have it, literally I cannot use nicotine at all! It is now not only making me tired but giving me the darkest depression over ever endured

I can't speak for him, but even weed can be abused. There is definitely a point for some people where weed has side effects. I used to feel great all day, and then have a little weed and feel awesome. That might have been ok, but the turning point was where I didn't feel good most of the time. When I would finally get around to having cannabis I just felt around normal. It's a very subtle feeling, and I wasn't self-aware enough to see it happening. This guy put the words to that feeling, that was invalueble to me. My own conscious experience was too intermittent to see it happening, but once the idea was in my head - it made sense to take at least take a break. Then I started excersising, just felt pretty good and less anxious every waking moment. He's not here to dunk on your way of life, he's just talking about the commonalities. Scientists see trends across a lot of people.
