That's why I always stress to my students (I teach middle school) the importance of doing AP/AICE classes in high school or going for Dual Enrollment when they can since we offer it in our area and while it is a lot of work upfront it saves thousands of dollars. I was lucky enough to graduate high school only needing 1 semester of college classes for my 2-year degree and saved my family around 20,000$ alone. I was also able to apply for scholarships so my four-year degree that I currently have only cost my family around 10,000$ and now my family can put more resources into helping my little brother go to college as well.

i think that has something to do with identity and what you read. If you’re a woman and you read books mostly by women, the men are mostly gonna fit your ideal. Vice versa for men. That’s why most men don’t find men in female written books interesting and why women don’t find women in male written books interesting. Idk though, that’s just my theory.

Honestly, this video resonated with me because I too went through the experience of actively looking for well built LGTB+ relationships in book under the excuse of wanting to be more inclusive and an ally and surprise, surprise, I'm bi. Sorry if this reads a bit strange, English is not my first language, but it was when I read The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, and cried during the last moments of The Legend of Korra, and some other stuff, and then faced the reasons that I avoided having f/f ships (had to do a bit with my self image, that I didn't see myself as a sexual being and couldn't commit to the task of projecting parts of myself in that kind of ships, denial), aaaaand the crying because a woman I studied with in College invited me to her wedding happened, the heartbreak lasted months and I don't know, fam, I don't know. I'm now in a very happy and loving relationship with a man and I wouldn't change him for anything in the world, and the fact that he respects and celebrates my sexuality (I'd say that he's even more open minded than I am, as I grew up in a very conservative country) and has helped me deal with all of that. He also has the prettiest smile you'll ever see. SO CONSIDER THIS AN APPRECIATION POST FOR BOOKS THAT SLAP YOU IN THE FACE WITH THE NEED TO DEAL WITH YOUR IDENTITY CRISIS THANK YOU BYE.

I’m so late to this video but I’m looking at reviews of “this how you lose the time war” bc I just finished it! My friends creative writing professor was one of the co-writers. It took me awhile to figure out what was going on then I quickly realized plot and setting is not the key to this book - it’s about the love between red and blue and that’s it. The writing was literally like one long poem. INCREDIBLE.
