My Grandpa told me something years ago that i think applies to this video, and to the difference between Matt and alot of the people he rescues. A lot of people give up and say they are stuck when they can't go the direction they want to. In reality you are not stuck until you cant go anywhere. If you work with where you can go, you may find a different way to get to what you want to go.
@MamaJLW
@MamaJLW Год назад
I think that applies to just about anything in life. If you work with your abilities and opportunities, you’ll find a way to accomplish what needs to be done or learn what you need to learn or change what you need to change or….. well, you get the idea.

For all the different conditions you guys run into on a recovery, I would think you would always carry a 12 volt air compressor as part of the normal equipment you always keep in the truck.

I love how it's a 20 year old Jeep Cherokee that is capable of all this. Granted its far from stock, I always imagine being in the shoes of a customer thinking "This is what they brought to get my 1 ton truck with a trailer out of the sand?" And yet everytime, they get'em out!

I always think that even more when they use the Moorvair. When the customer is asked "so how did you get out?", "Well your not going to believe this but it was a corvair, loaded with happy people, a couple dogs and cameras. They even gave me a shirt before they left".

Should have a variable height hitch. Yeah, like a canal, I think 31 miles of that would be beyond my limit, you guys are brave! Out here in the desert, famous last words are: "It can't get any worse!" LOL. BTW - no matter what, we always have an air pump, a couple of planks, and hi-lift jack w/recovery gear and it's always gotten us by, except the time one of our trucks broke an axle & a couple of guys have to camp out overnight while we went to town to get an axle & more tools. Fortunately the weather was good. Appreciate & enjoy your recovery adventures!

A really good high pressure 12v compressor is about $200. Yes, they run hot. Yes, they don't generally last very long. But when you need them, you can't beat them. Just put one scratch that two on every rescue vehicle you have. Replace the ones the die.
