Readers should really focus on the horrors of great darkness that Abraham saw and so many other places where the fear and terror of God fell upon believers and unbelievers. Don't just focus on the easy stuff to read and comprehend. Sometimes, we have to endure the pain and bitterness of betrayal to draw closer to God. So that we can relate to him and each other. Your pain is your own, although we can relate. I don't know what it is to be falsely accused in a court of law with false witnesses and hold my tongue while they nail me to a cross after being scourged. I can't even relate to that at all. But are we willing to endure the sufferings of Christ??!!??

Interesting take… I agree we need balance in the Word of God, and our lives, and really between flesh/spirit. We live in a carnal world often making decisions on carnal things we cannot ignore the spirit in those decisions; we must attend to the things of God. Yet, we live by the Spirit of God and must consider eating, working etc. We will face the things of the night, but must walk in the light. We are blessed, favored, and attacked and lowly. We endure afflictions for Christ and rise above for His Glory. We now live because Christ lived and though he suffered, he suffered in love for us. He provides all we need to shine in the darkness. Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee. Ps 119:11
