@@kellyblondie8415 they mention her name twice and when I wasn't sure how to spell it I just searched the name of the show + Becca and her full name comes up in the episode list.
Since both of her parents died from their addiction, it is entirely possible that her addiction is not only a maladaptive coping mechanism, but also a genetic predisposition. I hope she gets the psychological support she needs, & not just judgement from people who do not understand, or who do not WANT to think about this kind of thing differently than as a character flaw.
The reason that the clothes look from the 2000s is cuz this video is more than 10 years old (From 2006 or so). They upload these programs on youtube now and i'm totally here for it!
@@mizzmiami3242 I actually like the first items that were shown, surprisingly. Even the Fendi bag, that was all the range in the 2000's, had a modest design.
Out of many of the girls who are on this show.. i would say she had the best fashion aesthetically & style. Some of the other guest had a lot of designer items but the way they were put together didn’t look appealing at all.
@@sxbris I care too and if you truly didn't care, you wouldn't have responded to her comment or even read it. So... you do care. A lot. You're clearly a very immature and insecure person. That's sad.
That bald guy was especially annoying, complaining about “dog smell”. Those dogs looked clean and well taken care of, so he was just rude. I don’t like him in any of the episodes and from the comments I can see I am not the only one. There is just something “off” about him. He is ruining the whole show with his appearance.
Me too! They are obviously not animal lovers. Especially the guy. Like, how dare they make snarky comments about her feeding her dogs healthy organic food. If you have a dog or any animal for that matter, you should be feeding them healthy food and so what if it costs a little bit more. The problem is obviously the three thousand dollar handbags and spending three or four hundred dollars a pop on shoes. Not the dogs.
Yes, I thought the language they used when describing her home was so demeaning and insulting! A young girl living on her own in South-East England will not be able to afford a lavish home.
For sure depending on the brand etc it can be great for them, as well as if you can afford it you can give dogs full people food diets as long as you give the right things, variety etc. Like giving your animals 100% dry dog food can probably suffice, but some people just like spoil their animals in some healthy ways
@@TomikaKelly they're intelligent animals with feelings and just as suceptible to health conditions as we are. You don't get to say they're not worth good food just because they're not walking on two legs.
meanwhile 99% of the human species gets murdered with labor induced starvation so there's no sane people on earrth left to appreciate anything. just maniacal well off people and their endless desire to cause harm to create profit for themselves.
@cosmosspring Yes that is totally correct! But you have to admit that some of the cost is just from the brand name itself, that's why I said both of you are correct.
Agreed. I also don't think animals should be subjected to any kind of cold-turkey budget, food-wise. I think it's cruel to give them cheap garbage when they are used to the good organic stuff. Let the humans suffer, not the pets!
Qualified in dog training and studying animal med- can confirm a good diet is important and a dog is as happy with a tennis ball as it would be with the most expensive gizmo
It's called 'having her cake and eating it too' - the bags she has (most) WILL go 'out of style' and not be desirable enough to rent out. Rather than trying to deny her ALL of her penchants for designer bags, she can have at a tiny fraction - then send it back when it's 'out'.
She gets the thrill of buying a cool bag, uses it, and then just as she’s had the chance to get bored with it, it’s time to send it back. Then, she gets to pick another one and the process restarts. It’s a fraction of the price AND she’s not stuck with yet another bag that she doesn’t want anymore
I thought that was totally unnecessary to make that comment! Her house looked clean! I didn’t like either one of the so called helpers! She needed help, but she definitely didn’t need to be criticized! There’s also nothing wrong with feeding the dogs healthy food. They don’t need the clothing and it looked like they had enough toys!
@@rainesonne1320 if you are in heaps of debt you should NOT be buying ridiculously expensive dog food (or even have dogs at all to be honest). Dogs do not need fancy organic food, it's all marketing spin.
Was once a brand junkie. Till my son asked me why would I want to wear another person's name on my body seems like a form of slavery. Never thought of it that way before. I see people sporting a designer bag now think wow that designer doesn't even know you exist but yet you wear their name for the whole world to see.
Your son is a smart lad. He and I think alike. I want both nothing to do with designer clothings and accessories. I suppose wise people think alike, but fools seldom differs. 🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂Cheers mates!
Wow, that is possibly the most astute observation I’ve heard and from the mouths of babes. I’ve never cared about labels, but that makes me feel even ickier about them. Smart boy!
Surprised I’ve not seen any comments about Becca’s resemblance to Catherine Tate, it’s all I could see! She’s intelligent and talented, I really hope she’s out of debt now and doing well for herself. X
@@Violetandaustinchanle You have to use a transition period when you give a dog or cat another brand of food of about 10 days, giving more and more of the new food otherwise they will have problems with their digestion.
She may be overspending on dog food but you can’t change foods dramatically, overnight. She could hit a middle ground between the organic and bargain brands, but I’d introduce the new food slowly.
She reminds me of Donna from Doctor Who. I watch this instead of fashion vlogs, since it help me to notice that I have a spending habit and fashion vlog trigger my unnecessary spending.
i feel like he does very well with them actually. he has a very British sensibility. and also i guess you guys have never been in a therapy situation before but it is not at all appropriate for a therapist to try to hug their client during a session. crying is a common part of a therapy session and you're not supposed to start just touching the patient.
I found him irritating as well, just so completely without any personality. I've just googled him to see what kind of qualifications he has, and it turns out about a year after this episode was filmed he had a total mental breakdown. He was in a lot of emotional pain when filming this series.
My heart went out to Rebecca when she broke down while visiting the home where she grew up; She is such a gentle person who shows so much emotion that she has blocked out for so long.
I feel for her so much, not dealing directly with the death of her parents, Mum especially. My Mum was diagnosed with cancer and passed three months later. Not enough time to deal with the sadness, anger, regret. I suppose that’s what’s she’s going through. Really puts you through a horrible depression. I just wanted to hug her when they visited her old home. I cried with her. I’m so happy that M M says she’s doing amazing now. That hurt and pain will always be there, it’s how you cope with it.
Never work for a high end store! You're encouraged to dress only in designer labels. I worked in selfridges for 2 years and built up £2000 worth of store card debt and over 7000 in credit card debt. I left because of the debt I was in and It took me years to get out of it. It looks so glamorous but its so dangerous.
I think the most depressing thing about re-watching this now is apparently you could get a week’s worth of food shop done for 8 pound 70 then lol. For anyone wondering: she made the equivalent of well over 52,000 pounds a year in today’s money.
This was randomly suggested to me by RU-vid, and I'm now binge-watching the whole series. What a transformation! She's correct in the way that thinking you look good makes you feel better about yourself. However you can still look good on a small budget! Becca seems a lovely woman and looks a lot happier now some of her demons have been defeated. Hope she's doing really well.
Rebecca is coping with the emptiness...she is a beautiful woman who is mourning. I think she is very talented. She could also rent out her own bags and clothes.
I no how it is to lose a parent but I don't spend my 💰 like it paper u are throwing in a trash canned sorry but I understand. But it's good she's getting help. Addictions is hard to work with it doesn't matter what it is. Congrats to her.
She seems a nice girl who's hhd it rough with her parents passing.Think she hit the nail on the head, these people are not happy, they think spending is going to help, but the rush doesn't last long, they crave more and more.We all make mistakes and have our own addictions. Until we live life with thankfulness for the little things in life, and gratitude for what we have even though it may not be much, we may never experience true happiness. It's not so much what we have, but more who we are and how we feel about ourselves and life.gratitude and contentment bring true happiness, as well as self-love and love for those around us.Love each other people.
I think the psychologist was rude when they said her house stinks of dogs as a dog lover my house also smells of dog . However she seems like a nice girl
I’ve actually heard of people who are addicted to shopping, it is awful but they cannot stop themselves from spending money, even if they know that they will end up with no money, they do need help, everyone needs help with addiction, every social class should get free help with addiction or anything that would get them into trouble.
shopping addicts are worse than drug addicts because a drug addict develops tolerance and has a point where their bodies will say "change or die" but a shopping addict doesnt have any immediate physical repercussions for their actions. just get credit card bills with big numbers and can file bankruptcy when they need to wipe the slate (the only thing comparable to a tolerance) of debt clean
Ok, I thought she was 34ish. HOWEVER, she is gorgeous. If she's tall enough, she could be a model in the USA. Also, some spend like that because they believe they are going to buy their way up. #thevelvetloungelife
@@tristanthomas5006 Ok, I _should've_ said: "without a home computer, no Google", just ast @Mdx said, it wasn't like now where >almost EVERY home has at least one device to access internet.
Why does she only ever have the pug with her when she goes out...Doesn't she take the other dog out? I guess he must get kept in the garden all the time...I would also guess he got hit by a car cause he escaped.
Fabric is hella expensive where I'm at. Definitely not cheaper to make your own clothes when I can go to Winners and buy the same thing for 30 dollars. It's usually 16 dollars for a yard of fabric. Unless you catch it on sale or clearance but then it's usually picked through by the time I get to it.
I always think that working in an image conscious industry (fashion, modelling etc) you're gonna get sucking into the 'need' for expensive stuff! You're kinda powerless to stop it
How, how, do these people live like this, how do they spend all of there money and not worry about what would happen if they ran out of money and lost their jobs and became poor, like HOW?
It's more to do with specifically NOT thinking about the future. To a degree they don't really want to live beyond the moment, and in some don't think they will live very long, so why not do what they want now.
@Alison Brown jealous is a bit strong of a term...but the 'therapist' probably has issues with that topic. Maybe she is too stingy and does not allow herself the treat or luxury spending (occasional ones) she thinks she deserves...? Just a thought...
She isn’t a therapist, she’s a fashion/TV stylist and presenter, and not a life coach either. I think they describer her as a lifestyle coach which isn’t actually anything. The chap is a psychotherapist.
i grew up with non stop violence in my home. to this day they cant even have a slight disagreement without flying into a raging mental breakdown lol. that kind of behavior comes from the brain damage that alcohol abuse causes and often with the patience destruction that stimulant abuse induces. two most commonly abused drugs in eurocentric culture. but they create the worst versions of ourselves
These spenders have psychological issues that trigger their spending. It's heartbreaking that she's unable to know or express her feelings. Hoping she's in a happier place. ❤️
