NOTIFICATION SQUAD: Ibaraki is only one hour north of Tokyo and well worth a visit if you're looking to escape Japan's capital for a few days! Just don't let Sharla lock you away in a drum bath. But WHERE should we visit next? Give us your suggestions!
I was totally convinced being in this area is not so bad after all, but then the drum bath scene started. BTW I would have brought Connor here and take Ms SHARM to the onsen place... Dummy!
turning abandoned schools into hotels and resorts or like that one where they even turned the pool into an aquarium is pretty genious and practical use of the structures
This was quite peculiar site to see Chris cooking. Here's my conspiracy Sharla prepared it and put the tongs in Chris's hand for a nice cinematic view.
I thought it was off putting lol if I was travelling with someone (or dating someone) that just kept trying to poke fun at/criticize everything, I'd tell them to go home/find a more positive partner
@@djentleman8116that's fair but they'll usually stop if you tell them about it. What you saw in the vid was simply playful banter(surprising I assume) and people are aware if they take things too far. And if they're a genuinely good person, they'll apologize
It’s honestly the best move these local prefectures could do to increase tourism. Advertising what makes their local specialties worth checking out is a sincere way to say “hey, come here because our stuff’s neat too!” Having someone frank and blunt like Chris is a good way to keep things from being puffed up and dishonest
Gotta say Chris, as someone who's led a very active life, your efforts are clearly paying off. The 6-pack may still be too shy for the general public, but it's obvious you've put on a good bit of muscle. Well done, I know how much effort and discipline that takes, keep it up.
It makes me laugh how Chris starts the video by saying “we’re going to be joined by a special friend” when referring to Sharla… ITS ONLY HIS FIANCÉE! 😂
Your videos look better then most TV productions. Seriously, whenever I see a TV production I think of your channel an I think your shots are way better and I see more then what everyone already knows.
I must say I love this new format / interaction. Chris would never make soba alone ;). I’d love to see more content like this, where we have them learn to make traditional things ❤
Not only that, he made her cry before proposing to her by saying he never wanted to get married, then laughed at her as she cried. I can 100% see how that can happen but when written out, it sounds awful haha
"Boiled Abroad." I have always enjoyed watching you two having fun together. Chris, just keep Sharla smiling, and please bring us along every now and then. 🐻
3 videos in week?! It was totally worth the wait. Thank you for the bangers, Chris! On a side note, I think that Chris's photography is great to learn drawing backgrounds and scenery, and how perspective works with different camera lenses. There is everything- the water (coastal) scenes, drone shots, the narrow roads on mountainous forests, and even a volcano!
I can't believe for over 4 years you guys rarely made content together when making content together is better than ever with 2 of our favorite people! 🥳🥰
Honestly, the dormitory in the school looks so cool! I can imagine staying there with your mates and talking and having fun in the classroom over a few drinks, reminiscing about the good old days. I would definitely try this place out when I visit Japan.
i love when chris makes these kinds of videos that highlight some of the less popular, less frequently visited areas of japan. it makes me feel like there's something cool to do wherever you go in the country, and always beautiful sights.
If this released prior to you guys getting engaged or telling everyone you're in a relationship that bath scene at the end would've been the most hilariously awkward giveaways ever lol. love it
I'm glad they were serious about you wearing proper gear for kayaking! There's always a chance something could happen and you'd fall in, and water rescue (actually getting you OUT of the water) takes time. If the water is below a certain temperature, you should always wear a wet suit or something more protective, because nature can be unpredictable. Ibaraki looks so beautiful! I'm glad you had an opportunity to spend time there and share it with us ^_^ I'd love to see more of southern Japan! How about Fukuoka next :D
Genuinely amazes me how much love and care goes into the making and editing of your videos even on the second channel. Truly impressive and a joy to watch
You two make awesome videos separately, and this one really showcases how well your personalities and talents mesh together. One of the best videos yet! It looks like you both had a blast. ☺️
Just wanted to say thanks. Japan has been on my bucket list for ages but I never had anything beyond a vague idea of what I wanted to do or go see there. After watching both your channels I now have a solid list of things I want to see from your list of 47 prefectures Video, Seeing both the Snow monkeys and the Winter festival in Sapporo as well as checking out the abandoned island in Nagasaki. I have put of this trip for so long not wanting to travel solo and I didn't think I could get to any stage in speaking Japanese at a level that would feel comfortable but after binging almost 8 years worth of your videos over the last 2 months I've my trip planned for February next year and have started learning Japanese. Thanks for all the work you've put in the last decade and hope many more years of brilliant content to come.
Relationship goals are Sharla fanning Chris in a literal drum of empty frozen pineapples XDDDD - If I can't have this kind of love, I don't want it XDDD
"that's for the kayack" This is how I know you two will last beyond the test of time. Love you both, great video, enjoy each other's company for as long as you can. Nagaku ikiru to han'ei! (I hope that is right, I'm learning!)
what a lovely place! it really doesnt deserve worst rated. Thank you for showing us! its funny that chris should say that kayaking is therapuetic, my dad and his buddies call kayaking their 'therapy' haha
After Connor in an onsen, we get Chris in a barrel, that could be Chris in an onsen, but I'm still satisfied. Really beautiful place. The first accomodation, seemed really cozy, as Sharla said, and being there at night, surrounded by the mountains, must be really amazing. The school seemed really cool too!
That Japanese school is just my old primary classroom. Really nostalgic! Also, Chris, for CHRISt's sake, put some crust on your steaks! Shalla's fears are justified! 😋
I'm so happy you guys went to Ibaraki to see the daibutsu there! Your Shimanami trip inspired me to go to Japan, and Ushiku was one of my first places I went. I just had to see that statue. It's incredible on the outside, and on the inside!!! And there is a wonderful restaurant right next door, as well as a little market to check out. The gardens surrounding the status are also spectacular. Don't miss out!
I went to Tsukuba University for a year in college and loved Ibaraki😍 reminded me a lot of back home in upstate ny but with less snow😂 Me and a friend went out to Ushiku to see the daibutsu but missed the last bus back and had to walk at night through the pitch black country side💀 was like a horror movie but a super funny experience in hindsight😂
Not my fiancé being from Ibaraki 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I’m dying cause I’m literally going to visit for the first time next month… but for real, thank you for giving it some love Chris and Sharla! ❤️💓
Ibaraki has some nice spots for sure. Mito has a nice lake park with a lot of Sakura in season. There's Hitachi seaside Park (huge flower garden). And some nice waterfalls, shrines and temples. Nice food like in many places in Japan. I wouldn't necessarily recommend going there on your first visit to Japan though.
Quite honestly, I need more Sharla & Chris content together. It's about time! I spent so long hoping to hear that they were a couple; and now they're engaged! I had nothing to do with it, have never met them yet I still feel like a proud Mom. I'll never have a daughter-in-law or grandchild because it appears my Son is going to stay a bachelor because I believe his heart is 💔 permanently.
I'm here because of Sharla lol... but I think you two are great together. This video made me think, if you and Sharla come back to Canada, and Victoria specifically, you guys should do a trip up Vancouver Island. There are some amazing spots to visit on the Island here like Cathedral Grove, Strathcona Park, and all the beaches like Long Beach, Parksville and Rathrevor Beach, and some great "glamping" places as well as amazing places for other outdoor adventures! (I've lived here on Vancouver Island my whole life lol) It's a shame this prefecture has such a low rating because it looks like a really awesome place to visit!
This looks like a lovely weekend with Sharla and also testing out Kayaking, and not burning food lol Also...abandoned school? 💀 Be careful Chris, don't get yourself killed again!
Using a bathrobe in the sauna, is that really a thing in Japan? :D I loved watching how Chris is trying to act like a real moron, and the more he does it the more it is clear how happy he is. And Sharla seemed so joyful too. You guys are cute and funny af, I want to see more pranking couple content like this :)
Japan‘s worst rated places, are actually quite cozy 😅 hope you guys had a good stay there ✌🏽 I think everyone here wants to see chef Chris cooking more often in the future 😅😂 greetings 🙇🏻
Everywhere in Japan you have been was amazing to see and this one fits right in i don't understand that people aren't visiting this so much looks beautifull and the school is such a cool idea the building was great loved the design and the "glamping" looks great with the open glass windows great work again Chris!❤️🙌
haha was not expecting this judging by the title of the video. thought you were going to take her to some terrible hotel but the worst ranked prefecture is still a solid place to visit. how come the video is on this channel rather than the main one? think it matches the quality of that channel
I studied one year abroad here in Ushiku and i never had the chance to see this amazing statue. Thamk you for showing it here on RU-vid for all of us to see Chris! Ushiku was maybe not the most lively place, but i enjoyed my time here, and i will never forget my time at Ushiku Toyo School.
