I build and set steel trusses on the concrete house i am building. I built and set about 25 trusses which took about 1 hour to build and 1 hour to set.

This is going to be the strongest house within three states. I don't care which states, any three states. I am in awe of the build so far. Please keep filming and posting!

25 years ago my wife and I built our house out of metal studs. In hindsight one of the things I would do differently would be too put a top plate of wood on the walls to keep unwanted noise and temperature from the metal roof creeping into the walls. I’ve seen people put foam board down before installing the metal roofing? I used hat channel 24” centers on the trusses to screw the roofing to, you can get it in various gauges and sizes. Metal roof’s heat up quickly and cool down quickly and can make a fare amount of noise at times,I am guessing you plan on metal roofing? Great videos, perfect editing for me.

Nice job Mike, you are making great progress. I have often thought about constructing a house using "tilt up" commercial building techniques, I like what you are doing, it should work very well when you are done, certainly going to be a solid building. Be well.../B

Coming together pretty good. You are a hard worker thats for sure. I wish you had a few hundred thousand followers, that would really help your progress on the build and bring more videos.

@@mikekisch5563 Ever tried flux core as well ?
@mikekisch5563
@mikekisch5563 Год назад
@@mikep95133 yes flux core works ok with it, mig is so much cleaner, i prefer it even outside. the only time i use flux is when im out of gas and i need to get my bottle refilled or i need to have a portable welder.

@@mikekisch5563 My experience exactly. I just have such a tiny, expensive bottle of gas, I have to use flux core much of the time. If I had a bottle the size of yours, I'd use gas every day. Thanks Mike for your time.

@@mikep95133 i rent mine, its like 80 for 310cf or 60 for 120cf to refill the rented bottles. if i am welding in the shop abunch then i will get the big bottle. i did own a small bottle like 20cf, but i decided to rent larger bottles, it costs less to refill a rented bottle, so in the long run its a little cheaper, at the company i use.
