My house is located in West Jakarta, you can search with Google maps “Dapur Lemtari" the people at home will welcome you well because coincidentally my sister also lives in America.

ada beberapa yang komen "seharusnya turis yang belajar bahasa sekitar" hey, bahasa inggris adalah bahasa internasional dan di negara asia pun yang punya bahasa masing-masing akan menggunakan bahasa inggris untuk berkomunikasi. namanya juga TURIS, menurut saya Max bisa berkomunikasi dengan bahasa inggris dasar se simple mungkin. bayangkan kita ke negara jepang sebagai TURIS yang hanya sementara disana atau baru saja sampai disana. pengetahuan kita soal bahasa di negara itu pasti sedikit kan.. gak mungkin tiba-tiba jadi ahli. saya sebagai turis kalau main ke negara lain mau di asia eropa atau dimana pasti bahasa yang dipakai adalah bahasa inggris karena merupakan bahasa internasional

Hi Max, I just watched this video. Markets like malls in Indonesia are very depressing now because they are losing out to online sales (that's why you see scooter seller doing live streaming or Nintendo seller packing for online sales). This has gotten worse since the pandemic. Also, if you go to Mangga Dua Square, this place is never busy, even before the pandemic. The busy place was Mangga 2 Mall or Mangga Dua Pasar Pagi. It's in a different building from the one you visited. Those places are livelier but still quiet.
I think you need a friend from Indonesia to get a decent price like a local, because if they find out you are a tourist they can raise the price brutally.
