This is why companies use utubers to market their products. It’s a powerful pull to want to buy everything your favorite influencer is using. That said YT ruined the sharing goal after Google bought it. They (groupon) did the same thing to ideeli, ruining that too. Oh well 🤷🏼‍♀️🙄🎭

You're inspiring me to do the same and build my own palette whenever I'm tempted by new releases. New Pat, Natasha and UD palettes are like sirens of the sea, calling my name. Honestly if someone showed me that UD palette and said it really was called Oyster Bar, I'd 100% believe it based off the color story. And then I would say they missed the mark on the iridescence of the oyster shell, just as I think they missed the mark on the abstract idea of "cyber" but lol

I might be wrong since I haven't really looked at the swatches, but that purple in the HD palette reminds me of N-Sane by JD Glow! And in general, JD Glow shadows are pretty similar to the PMG special shades.

When I think "Cyber", I think more platinums, silvers, gunmetal tones, deep blues and purples (the latter much like the MAC lipstick of the same name), maybe even bright metallic green? (My brain goes to mid-90s, not necessarily Y2K.) UD's palette is definitely better named as "Oyster Bar" to me, too.

I ABSOLUTELY agree about that bright metallic green, because I think Tron. Hell, any color story that makes me think of Cyberpunk 2077, which is popular among RPG gamers and came out last year :/ The color story is a bit of a letdown, but I absolutely love the packaging ;_;

For $14 I bought Pat McGrath's foiled/sparlkly eyeshadow palette with three lip glosses. Bought them because other eyeshadows in that range are starting to expire. OMG!! I couldn't believe the quality and I'm so excited I found the $14 five-pan eyeshadow palette on her website. Today I did my first one eyeshadow look that was super satisfying. Thank you for going through and having us look for dupes and being more thoughtful about purchases. (BY THE WAY - listening to this as I look forward to changing into my PrintFresh pajamas when my day's errands are done :-)

Really appreciative of you using what you have, Hannah. I miss having all of my pressed powder products in pan only form so I can put them in palettes of my choosing. I’ve had to start over due to figuring out a lot of ingredient sensitivities. I’ve spent much of the first part of this year decluttering all of my more conventional products. Little was tossed, most was given away. Now that I’ve done a restock with beauty products with me-friendly ingredients, I currently have older Pacifica, lily lolo, ATHR, Red Apple Lipstick, 100% pure, honeybee gardens, and some zuzu luxe/Gabriel. Oh! I also have one lovinah palette. I’d love to depan it all into custom palettes, but I’ve gotta have some things set up first. Also, I’m trying to figure out how to depan a couple of rms mini pressed powder luminzers I was able to get via resales. They’re eyeshadow size, and would be perfect additions to my custom palettes. The problem is, the clamshell is a clear hard plastic, then there’s a ring of white plastic inside that, snugly holding the product in place. I can’t pop them out of the clamshell without fracturing the product. Why a clean beauty company design such a thing is beyond me. Anyway, I’ve already gouged myself once in the effort, and that took a couple weeks to heal. Okay, I’ve meandered on long enough. Thanks again, Hannah. 🤓

I love that you are sharing this and I hope people who see this get inspired to use eyeshadows that they already have instead of going and buying expensive palettes and getting more shades that they won't barely touch or use... get inspired and create you're own palette(s) that you will use and love; all while you save money .You're being substantial and in a way recycling or upcycling your singles. I honestly love this idea and I truly hope more people catch on. We buy stuff to use but more often then not most of it goes to waste... especially when we continue to want and buy the new releases and the brand(s) are doing a "new release" every month or every couple and what we bought in the first place doesn't get used like we intended too.. i think everyone can admit we are guilty of oftrn or at some point. America over produces everything which isn't helping our environment at all. Its is why we have overwhelming,over filled and disgusting amounts of trash everywhere. That isn't biodegradable, that isn't being recycled and has no where to go... our places we put this trash are over following. If you dont know about this please do a quick Google search or Google images to see this disaster. Its important to know, to understand and to do something about it... even if it's something small and little it does count I really do thank you for sharing and think you're brilliant!

You make an excellent point that often we only are attracted to some of the shades of a palette but the rest of it we can dupe or find singles for that colour and save money overall its an approach and also a shift in perspective. And truly, I feel good about that decision because truly I don't have the single shadow collection to dupe the vibes, and I'm learning that I need to allow myself to have high quality stuff especially since I don't own much of it🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽 (also black Friday is a-coming)

This is exactly why I love reorganizing and playing with my single shadows. Also, ACD5 is my favorite type of topper shade and looks awesome paired with mid-tone coral and dusty pink mattes.

Oh Hannah - this was absolutely lovely and so inspiring!! Soooo update: the ND gold palette seems like it’s discounting. They don’t sell it at Sephora nor the ND website!! A couple of. Sephora’s still have stock so if you’ve been eyeing it and see it, GRAB IT. I got the last one at mine not too long ago!

I often use the 5 pan ND (full 2.5 pan size) to make weekly palettes. It’s a great way to rotate all of your shadows by selecting a color story from my own collection.

I just got Huetopian Dream and have zero regrets -- it's my first/only Pat McGrath, and I have almost no eyeshadow palettes and very few powder shadows in general (have been a one-and-done cream shadow girl for a decade). I genuinely love every shade in my beautiful new acquisition so much! BUT ... I deeply loved watching this and now wish I had even moooooore gorgeous glitters and duochromes! (I'm fine, I'll be fine.)
