Great to see you Peter. I want to buy one fragrance of yours. I love amber, oud, myrrhe vanilla coffe notes like that which one would you recommed for me? And a nother thing i would love to see a clear glas bottle someday in future because i love the design of your bottles but if there was even some with clear glas that would be awsome man
Just watched the full video and it was beautiful. Well done for having the strength to make this and share this. The most heartfelt fragrance video there has ever been. ❤
I love the new look so much 😌🔥. The cinematography is so awesome. This video in itself is therapeutic 😔 Your message was touching my soul. And thank you for the journey, I enjoyed traveling with you throughout this video.
I agree. So nice for fragrance reviewers to show that they're actually creative, inspired people instead of goofy, creepy little bedroom-trapped hustlers. I loved the cinematography, the 'walking tour' atmosphere and info, the humour, the intimacy...he's doing what nobody else is and it baffles me why he's in a minority of one here. I'm here for it though, just like you. 😄
@@ciganyweaverandherperiwink6293 Possibly because of the effort George puts into his videos. I am glad no one else does videos like George. They'd only be weaker versions of the original!
@@RichardOliver What loyalty! Terrific. And I know what you mean: there's always a maverick who dares to take the rough with the smooth when breaking new ground. The imitators may come along like little sheep-rat hybrids but we'll always remember The Original. 🏆
You are the only fragrance presenter who has in depth honesty, sentimentality and spiritual thinking and it felt like a “bloody” journey, man❗️ I’ve learned more about these fragrances and throughly enjoyed your recanting of going from depths of uncertainty and your comeback. Your memories, your passion provided me with such an adventure. Thanks for providing this video to your loyal followers. Thank you again Cheers
So glad to see you back to good health George. I love your channel, not just for the fragrance reviews, but the whole vibe. You are a master story teller, and it’s wonderful to spend time in your company. God bless you and keep you safe.
Please make a fragrance for Scotland. Something that smells of peat smoke and perhaps scotch. Port Charlotte heavily peated scotch is one of my favorite smells and flavors. Peat smoke is like the oud of Scotland! Only you can make this, perhaps in a partnership with the Atkinsons fragrance company! Also, thank you very much for your Atkinsons His Majesty Oud recommendation. I blind bought it based on your description, and it's my #1 favorite out of 150 fragrances I've tried.
I'm sorry for the pain you went through. It's one of the side effects of the vaccs. I have the list of the thousands of studies they will not tell us about. I love your work, and I care about you and your health.
I haven't watched through this in it's entirety yet so I will reserve a comment about the actual video for later but- I need to know how that piece of music that starts of the Arquiste - Misfit part is called. I don't often find myself deeply resonating with songs that I haven't heard prior but this one really does it for me. And quite frankly, I'm eager to hear more of that.
Absolutely superb video! This was really refreshing from all the top 10's and panty dropper lists out there. Stay for the whole thing enjoyed every minute. Well done sir! Oh yea don't change yourself for anyone, their opinions don't matter.
Everything was shot so well… But the final scene in the woods with the windmill… That could have been a scene in a dark medieval horror film or an English countryside love story.. Really enjoyed it all…
Oh man.... 15 minutes in - HUGE RESPECT - it takes a lot of caurage to be so open and transparent. I totally understand why you felt that your confidence was taken away, but man - this video shows once again - you're a ROCK like the rocks on that beach. Stay strong, you're an inspiration to us all.
He looks better, over the past few years he's transitioned from a normal bloke to Dr. Who and then to a 1970s New York pimp and now back to a normal bloke.
I've only watched 20 mins so far but this is brilliant 👏. Full of heart (literally) and the cinematography is so good! Compare this to some emotionless 3 min Jeremy Fragrance video he churns out 4 times a day and there is no comparison. Well done George.
I was literally in the middle of saying "rah you had a heart atta- oh he says its not a heart attack". Lemme just say im glad you're alive. Glad you got a haircut too. But gladder still you're alive.
You really inspire us all, George. Your humor and humanity are real things in this fake-ass world. I am working on getting my sense of smell back after having C O V I D in May. It's getting a little better every day but still quite frustrating as I can only smell bottom notes. I cannot wait to experience memory through scent again. Thanks for your story :)
Wow Katie, losing my smell would devastate me. The humans who live most especially through their sense of smell are a small but intense and unusual group of people, I find it fascinating. It really is a brain-wiring thing. I thought everybody was like this, but as I grew older I realised it was almost a gift (a bit like how some people are just born musical or athletic or great at math; there's just a certain filter they understand and are able to live through which other people will just not relate to). I really hope you totally get your smell back; have you kept a journal?! That would make a terrific niche blog which would DEFINITELY find its audience. If you published it too, likewise. I'm slinging positive vibes your way, like javelin throwing, from here in England to wherever you are on the globe. 👃🙏🗺
This happened to me from Jan 2021 to March 2021, I lost my sense of smell and taste initially, taste came back quicker. It was a very difficult time for me personally, but thankfully my sense of smell has come back now. My olfactory sense had to be retrained though, smelling some of my perfumes after it came back felt like it was the first time ever I had smelled such notes. I spoke to a doctor who is a fragrance enthusiast, and he mentioned to start with gentle notes such as sandalwood, and take my time. Wish you the best
@@ciganyweaverandherperiwink6293 I have managed not to get to depressed about it but it is disheartening. Thank you so much for the encouragement. I had been avoiding fragcom for a time but I am determined to get my sense back. A journal is a great idea!
@@katiecoollady If you start the blog, writing wistfully about smells you miss, smells you imagine now and the smells you are hunting for in order to revive your dormant sense of smell, please pop back and send me a link. I'd love to read it. You could almost turn it into a travel blog too; hunting for the best lavender, eating durian fruit with no problem etc. Haha! I really do wish you well. Just think of that first fragrance you spray and can smell. I only hope it's not Haxan by Parfums Prissana; read the description and notes on Fragrantica. Oh my god. Never again. Thank god it was a sample and not a blind buy...holy smokes.🤢
I needed this. I’m going through a challenging new chapter of my life and my new fragrance journey has helped me through it. Thank you George. It’s time for me to find my old self as well.
So at first I wanted to comment about your top notch visuals, but they honestly pale in comparison to how deeply personal this video is. Thanks for inviting us in.
I feel you are fantastic at really drawing in the audience to your own story, and making them feel your emotions as if they were their own. Cheers to your health.
I feel like I am on this journey with you George. I also love how you talk to me and not at me like some reviewers do. But to me you're more than a reviewer, you're The Fragrance Apprentice! ❤️
In honour of you George I’ve just sprayed on the original Dior Homme and it smells amazing like you are. Thank you for sharing this as can’t imagine what you went through. Stay strong buddy.
Quality, awesome fragrance choices.... No contest George, you're the best fragrance youtuber. No wonder why I only kept you as my only fragrance youtuber, and unsub from the rest since a while now.
9:23 Fuck the fragrances, love, I care more about you and your well-being, and I can bet the majority of us do, as well. You don’t know me, I don’t know you, but I love and respect the fuck out of you; so happy you’ve been given an eye opener, a second chance, if you will. Own it. Your haircut is so fitting, suits you so much better than the long, you look 10 years younger; you look fucking good. Mad love from Omaha, NE…the maddest 😘❤️!!!
You've proved that a person who's true to his heart, continuously speaking for an hour about fragrances and life in general, people can watch without skipping. A beautiful movie about a fragrance journey. Yes you should do this often.
He has BREAK the RU-vid algorithm code ladies and gents. Why talking to TOP 10 FRAGRANCES for 10 minutes when you can make EVEN MORE MONEY with half the fragrances. Behold, the " TOP 5 FRAGRANCES FOR AN HOUR " video trend is coming and oh boy are we up for a treat
After getting a shower eating, putting my daughter to bed and sitting down with a cup of tea…I get to watch George cut yet another new path in fragrance videos. Normally I may sit down with my wife to watch I dunno grand designs or 2 episodes of whatever fletnix series she would like me to watch with her…but not tonight…tonight I have George….just lately I’ve felt a bit isolated on my fragrance journey and wish I had some face to face fellowship around fragrance…the authenticity of this content just makes me feel a little less nuts for this passion and a bit less melancholic….u de man George, thank you and big lv X
Literally any other RU-vidr says they're gonna make an hour long fragrance video, and my only thought is NO THANKS. But I saw yours and didn't even hesitate to click.
Excited to watch this masterpiece! 5 fragrances for an hour is probably a record! Also, you look good with the shorter hair and shaven face! Gotta mix it up and keep the mind and personality adapting! Also dang, 28? The long hair aged you a lot! I always assumed late 30s, although the Victorian dress probably didn't help either :) I used to dress like a dad, and had to stop when too many people thought I was 10 years older than I am. Only 8 minutes in, but holy hell man I'm glad you're doing well!
I'm gutted that health professionals still aren't properly trained in the significance of perceptual influence. All the while it's effectively used every day in the media. Love the lifeboat analogy George. And those gents at the pub. 😆 To me, this is a video about hope. Hope for what fragrance reviews CAN be. To this very day. Props for Victorian Tobacco too. I'm a fan. Five pumpkins out of 5. 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
We are trained. That being said we sre still human, most likely they were stressed during George’s tachycardia spell and didn’t manage that stress well enough. Most likely those people were overworked, tired messes of human beings working long long shifts. We try our best but aren’t working within a system that allows optimal patient care.
Story telling, especially the telling of true stories, is the most powerful form of communication. That is on full display here. George, thank you for sharing your stories...your life.
When Apprentice full length cinematic video is probably top 3 best movie of the year, does that mean that Hollywood had as weak year or that George made a beast of a video?:))
Hey George, I'm 52, and I lost my wife in 2018 to cancer. I really appreciate your openness and honesty of what a strange journey life is.... There's a lot to appreciate.
I can’t believe that I’m hearing this. I’ve had that same fear after having a heart scare. It make you afraid to do anything that will get your heart rate up and hyper aware of every feeling you get in your chest. It’s bad to say but I’m glad you decided to share that in this video. Made me realize I wasn’t alone with that feeling
Congrats on how you bettered your life mate. You look great! To be honest, this clean look suits you better than the shaggy, long-haired, bearded George. Keep it up!
Hey George. Can totally relate as I had pericarditis in the past as well. It’s horrific and if that’s anything like what a heart attack feels like then I feel sorry for those people. Have also suffered an allergic reaction to anaesthetic with severe anaphylactic shock and lost all vital signs for over 2 minutes on op table. There are many drugs can cause severe allergic reactions. take care.
I was bedridden with long covid in my nervous system and heart for 4.5 months, unable to get up. I had just a small amount of fragrance on each day to help me feel more like myself. Thanks for a meaningful video.
Thank you for sharing your journey George. Brilliant cinematography and the message throughout was deep & thoughtful. I found it quite emotional, well done!
I am a George. I have also been through much the same. You see my father died at 47 from the same as you have dealt with. My younger brother last year at 45. I am the oldest man in my line alive and none have reached my age. I want you to know you are not alone George. I often wonder if each pain is initially my death nell lol. But we are all the first the world has ever seen. Our DNA uniqe in all of history. There is no reason to fear. You caught it soon. Years ago no one paid any attention. But now we do and are better for it. We are blessed to live in these times brother. I have BR 540 extrait on the way. My #2 in the world and am so excited. I will continue to break age records in my family and you will do the same. There is no fool in you and by virtue of that, you will not be caught short. These long videos are my favorites. While they are much work for you, they are a comfort and an inviting place to me. Like a discussion with a friend around a cozy campfire. This is the good stuff. This is humanity in its raw form. This is honesty shamelessly laid bare. Here is comfort. Home where there are no secrets. It is beautiful and thank you for being my best friend for 58 (I think) minutes. Do not stop. This format is where you shine. This is where I've truly met you. It is a pleasure indeed.
Absolutely brilliant good sir. Best hour I've ever spent on RU-vid. I'm amazed how open you were with your health issues but I'm glad that you are pulling past them and getting better. Cheers to best reviewer on RU-vid.
The new look suits you well, I also find myself easily stuck in modes of thinking out of expectation and habit rather then reevaluation of what the current me truly wants. Its great to have a refresh from time to time and to reevaluate some choices in life.
It's videos like this that remind me.why I subscribed to you in the first place. You bring it from the heart and soul, on such a personal level that it makes me feel like I'm listening to a close friend and chatting about why we love this beautiful and wonderful hobby. All I can say is thank you, for all your hard work that goes into these amazing vids.
Thank you for sharing this story! Great shots, fantastic edits and of course fragrance choice is on point 💥💥. It’s a lovely thing to see and hear how fragrances are experienced and enjoyed by others.
What an absolutely brilliant video! God this was an emotional roller-coaster! I have VERY similar memories and emotions tied to Dior Homme as well as Gucci PH2 they both define my teen years growing up. Great fragrance picks like Victorian tobacco I love wearing when it's colder out, it really shines in the cold!
Looking healthy George. Just watch out for that PTSD bite back, it can happen. Watch for the signs and if you notice anything, please seek help. Other than that, glad to see you up and about. Also, Dior Homme (pre 2020) is everything to me.
Tell you what it hasn't altered, George - your ability to make a good movie. And anyway, yes we are all in cyberspace, but you're telling us because we are your buddies, dude. And, you have to admit to yourself now, that you are a minor celebrity, and that means we all think we know you. And own you. LOL Sorry. It is what it is. And, while I'm at it - did you get approval for making this great video, by the way, from Dan Naughton? Hope this is not some rebel, unauthorized great frag video here... (lololol).
