Mike Hegarty sometimes I leave it around the pine and conifer trees for the same reason. Although pine needles are highly acidic and will acidfy the soil over time. Making non acid loving plants harder to grow. Interesting nonetheless as landscaping is different everywhere

It's used here in Georgia because it's cheaper than mulch.. I only use mulch. I see straw as "tree trash" and rake mine up too so I can put down cedar mulch around my trees.

I needed concrete layed in my back yard 8 by 8 they asked 20 thousand..its become a ridiculous. And people are going in to dept trying to get basic reasonable things done. Dont get me started on windows and solar. Lol...I'm not cheap, just want a realistic reasonable price.
