I’ve been on a Mint 5G plan for 5 months and am very pleased. I used Visible for about a year and liked it until I traveled to Canada and had no coverage at all. As someone who travels internationally at least once a year, that was an issue. I realize that Mint is not cheap for international data and I use other ESims for travel but at least I have access for international phone calls if needed on Mint. You can preload your Mint plan with International phone credits before you go, so I just put $20 on the account and I am ready for my next trip.

So I fixed the issue I had with them and now the service works. They have to be the number 1 sim in your phone. I was having service with Verizon. I tried them to add a line to my phone. I had the eSim with Mint first on my S22 Ultra, but then I got Google Fi eSim, so I got Mints physical sim inatead. Even my phone can hold multiple eSims, it can only use 1 eSim at a time. Once I figured out my phone and put Mint in my older phone, S8+, now it's working just fine... Thanks for your video Travis!!! You are right. It works very well. I got the $15 for 3 months. With taxes it was like $54 total.

Had ATT for years then switched to Google Fi (5+ years) then to Mint (2 years). I like Mint - made the change to save on mobile service costs. It might not be the best if you travel outside the USA often but I buy international credit (as an emergency backup) and then purchase a local sim card in the country I visit to mitigate loss of Mint service.

If people can get in the habit of paying cash for their phone. Then using using a prepaid service like mint mobile is awesome! I did the math if I kept financing one phone on a phone plan with the remainder of that 22 months versus paying it off and switching to mobile. Over the 22 months we would be saving a lot of money by switching to Mint

I pay about $10 a month and my unused data rolls over (if I manually enable that each month) with Tello. Sometimes I pay a little more if I'm too close to having 10 GBs socked away and want more buffer just in case. One downside is that 5G doesn't work on my Pixel 7 for some reason. I've considered Mint as an alternative, especially if I start spending closer to $15 a month than $10 a month on a regular basis. Every penny counts these days.

I'm considering switciing from AT&T to Mint Mobile simply for the money I'd save by getting a 3 month plan for cheaper than 1 months bill for AT&T. I've used a one week trial in an unlocked Motorola phone, and to my surprise, it got 5g+ on my data(which I'd never even heard of). Which is mind blowing when you consider that Verizon in my area still doesn't even have regular 5g speeds yet. I am on a tight budget so this is a great option for me. I'm really surprised that this service isn't more well known for the insane value it offers at such low prices.

I'm coming up on three years with Mint and no issues. I don't use my phone that often, sometimes I even forget to take it with me when I leave the house so the 5G plan is fine. Could've went with the bigger companies but when you look at it, it's not worth it. ( 35 a month unlimited but you have to have four lines, so 140.00 a month ) I pay once a year 180,00 plus taxes and fees so about 200.00 a YEAR. There are people out there paying close to that a month for maybe a few extra features they never use/don't know about. Never going back to the big three.

Hi Travis! I’m so glad you did this review and I’ve heard good things about mint mobile in passing before. Had been considering switching to them. The plan pricing is def attractive & cheaper than my current wireless plan. Two follow up questions though. Family plans? And are those equally impressive cost wise? Apple Watch support for cellular models?? This last one is especially important to me since I use an Apple Watch on cellular whenever I leave my phone behind in specific circumstances. When exercising or biking for example. I had read somewhere once that only the major carriers support Apple Watch but maybe that’s changed.

@DJaquithFL
@DJaquithFL 11 месяцев назад
I would say it depends .. What I mean by that is Mint mobile is owned by T-Mobile and if T-Mobile is bad in your area then it's not going to magically get better. Same can be said for a MNVO like Visible that is owned by Verizon. In any case, if you want the best overall service and connection and reliability, especially for data, is important than I would skip any MNVO and go directly to the OEM companies themselves.

I used a different MVNO for many years. Unfortunately, when I switched to the iPhone 14 (eSim), I discovered that only the major phone providers had the ability to port your existing number over to eSim. MVNOs couldn't do it. You had to get a new number. I'm wondering if that has changed.

Dear Travis first of all, thanks a bunch for resurfacing on this, Your channel Here in Switzerland where everything, literally everything costs a fortune (for example the gasoline 1 gallon is Swiss francs 6.84 equals 7.77$) we have something similar. I pay 24.95 Swiss Francs (Salt is the carrier) equals 28.35 $ a month. Which doesn’t sound like a good deal, but usually the people pay between 59 and 79 SFr. equals 67 and 89 $ a month. As You‘ve said You‘re from Seattle (Washington) with an average of 300 rainy days in a year, I almost felt sorry for You, since I‘m rider of a motorcycle started in 1984 and CAN‘T IMAGINE 300 rainy days each and every year, although here in Switzerland we‘ve got our share of wet days, which I do NOT REALLY LOVE AS A BIKER. I have AT&T and have 5 phones on my plan. The representative blatantly lied to me when I signed up for the 5th line by saying I get a free S21 FE with that line. It wasn't free since I noticed a $10 charge per month charge on my bill. I also upgraded two phones to the S23 Ultra because of the $800 trade in discount if paying for each over 36 months. That is their ploy to lock you into their plan for 3 years. Unfortunately, one of the returns got lost in the mail using their return label. They won't give me the discount on the second phone. I'm stuck with AT&T for now since I'll have to pay close to $3,000 to get out of that contract. I am currently paying $210 per month with all discounts applied. That's not too bad but I'm breaking up my phone plans and signing up for Mint Mobile as soon as those phones are paid up. My sons can sign up for their own plans and I can end up with two phones max on a plan.

Mint mobile really isn’t worth it. I pay $30 a month for 40GB. After that. I get no hotspot (even when I barely use it and pay for it). I live in a major city and get 2 bars at most. I get hung up on when I try to call and talk to support. Mint mobile is great as long as you don’t have any problems that needs addressing.

When one does a look up on line for Mint Mobile it shows the company is an independently ran company. It part of T-Mobile USA. Mint Mobile is a virtual company Founded in 2016, Mint Mobile functions as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). It runs on T-Mobile's cellular network, which means it uses T-Mobile's network but isn't owned by the company.

Cool video but when a creator says they’ve partnered with the company they’re reviewing it kinda makes me second guess the information I’m getting.

I love Mint mobile for years, I'm worried that they're bought. I can't wait for the "exciting new changes" email that means I have to look elsewhere someday.
@TravisMCP

I wouldn't worry. T-Mobile has done right by MVNO's they have bought before. So far things look fine. We shall see.

The one good thing they did was increased my 4GB plan to 5GB at no extra cost. I'm hopeful T-Mobile doesn't mess up this gem.

Btw, watching your Amazon Renewed videos, so I'm getting ready to buy an iPhone 12 Pro. To replace my 13, which is crap. I found Amazon also sells Renewed phones themselves. Plus they give you a one year money back. Unlike the 3rd Party vendors that give you 90 days. I figure you can't go wrong with this. And if the screen has too many micro abrasions, I'll send it back right away. Thanks again.

AFERT TREE MONTH THEY WILL CHARGE MORE THAT DOBBLE THE PRICE BECAREFULL...................................
@TravisMCP
@TravisMCP 11 месяцев назад
They will charge whatever the current pricing is (which depends on which plan pick). For example, if you want to keep the unlimited plan, it is $30 a month which is still way cheaper than unlimited plans from most other providers.

Mint Mobile is not telling everyone the truth. If you switch to them you had better make sure you can unlock your phone from your current provider which I could not do because my phone's are financed. I requested a refund. Seeing if that will go through.

That's literally how all services work tho. You HAVE to pay off your phone. This isn't just a Mint Mobile thing, it's every carrier.
