I’ve been hired a one wage and got a lower wage. The person hiring me said oh no it was the amount your receiving that was negotiated. Which it’s was not cause I was already going to be getting less that I wanted but after probation it would be the wage I was looking for to cover my cost of living. I had turn down other jobs because they didn’t want to reach that wage.

Dave is out of touch, thinking a large corporation will negotiate. They have a prepared script and process, no negotiation outside external legal action. If they promised the 20k and you can prove it was offered and the conditions were satisfied, then the money is owed.
@liamvosefski2795
@liamvosefski2795 29 дней назад
Dave has sound financial advice that is 90% common sense. However, he is from an era where people stayed at a job for 40 years and then retired with benefits/ full pension. That's not the case today. What happened here is the company knew they were going to lay him off but they needed him around a bit longer than his coworkers. To avoid him quitting when they started layoffs they pulled him aside, offered a promotion and 20k bonus if he stayed. Once they knew that his usefulness was done they put him on a PIP, and are now firing him for cause. He'll likely get no severance nor will he be entitled to unemployment benefits. You are right his termination was plotted in detail from the minute they decided to keep him.

I was suddenly laid off last November after coming back from having Covid. Went back on a Wednesday & that Friday morning, I was pulled into the VP’s office. There was talk starting in the summer, about moving me up to a different position because that department needed help. I had a lot of health issues that year which unfortunately needed time off for / working at home, when allowed. I think in the end, they just wanted me out and didn’t want to give me any sort of boost in pay, which was a question I had with switching roles. The morning I was let go, I immediately came home and downloaded Indeed on my phone and started applying. A couple of weeks later, I got a new job.

It sounds like they put him in a position to fail knowing they were going to eliminate his job. His first recourse when he was initially told his performance was unacceptable would be to ask for coaching help or training to meet their expectations. If they don’t want help, the writing is on the wall, you’re toast. Don’t burn your bridges, by trash mouthing the company. Try to get a letter of recommendation to put in your resume. The company won’t give a bad recommendation since that may come back to haunt them. Take notes of all conversations, if it becomes a legal matter, those with the best backup will normally prevail.

Trust the lord, dont get offended and do the best you can.I've found that the only thing that's really going on is that its testing your faith (how you see the lord), when you acknowledge him in trust it is the best thing that could happen. It's all the hand of the lord.

@@pamelaharris2725 He did it all and you seeing it beholding him in righteousness is everything. That's the secret of faith, faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. This means your belief in him cant turn into faith unless challenged, your holding on to his word threw the challenge makes your belief faith. So God leads you by telling you, then he creates the challenge not to derail you but make the thing he told you happen but by your believing threw the challenge he's acknowledged by faith which is what He is, making you his daughter by actions and deeds. Like david when God told him he was king , God also made it so saul would be his adversary that moment and goliath and so on and so on. But because of davids holding on threw so much not wavering, not only was he king but he's the only regular king that kingdom will never end as God says he sits on David's throne forever. But from the time of a kid david didn't stop believing threw everything, from battles to not killing his adversary saul because he knew it was the lord making saul do what he was doing and in the place he was in to do it. It's what happened to dave even if he doesn't understand it fully. Hes going along then heard gods word and believed it, the moment he did that God was going to send the appearance of trouble to try that belief in him it wasn't meant to hurt him but must happen to turn that belief in to tried faith. It made him look like he lost everything, because he was to be extremely successful he looked like he was going to have nothing. Instead of saying gods word is not true he ended up diving into his belief in the crisis and in time it was showed him that gods word is true. With out the appearance of loss dave would never see what he has today, his greatest blessing is the trial. same for you and I

I could walk away and get another job, but then I’ll feel bad because they are having a hard time finding good employees to work their jobs. If they are firing me then it’s out of my hands and I won’t feel as bad?

One day a supervisor approached him in a hallway, asked him a project question - he didn’t know the answer right then and there and so he got fired on the spot. Another time a co-worker told me he used to work as a supervisor at a large retail company. Upper management would order him to fire 3-4 people a week because they were downsizing their budget.

Technically, if you had an emergency fund (many people don't) you would have been prepared for this. I think it's something like 3x your annual salary is recommended, although most people probably struggle to save even a few months' worth. But yeah, how can you prepare? Get rid of anything unecessary, get your resume in order, and start applying immediately to new jobs. Hopefully the person has at least one or two months' worth of expenses covered through an emergency fund or savings. (This is all regardless of the circumstances, even if the firing is unjust, you still should be prepared).
